Features and Benefits
Cooling/Heating System
- Designed for maximum sensible and latent cooling performance.
- Mechanical cooling operates from 0°F to 125°F.
- Mechanical heating operates above -15°F.
- Heating Operation Note: Below -4°F, the unit may switch to optional electric heat if mechanical heating is locked out.
- R-454B Refrigerant: Low GWP, Zero ODP, Low Toxicity/Lower Flammability (A2L). Factory pre-charged.
- Compressor System: Features two-stage and single-stage scroll compressors, resiliently mounted for quiet operation. Includes compressor crankcase heaters.
- Check/Thermal Expansion Valves: Ensure optimal performance across the application range.
- Filter/Driers: Protect the system from dirt and moisture.
- Reversing Valve: Enables rapid changeover between cooling and heating.
- High Pressure Switches: Protect compressors from overload conditions.
- Low Pressure Switches: Protect compressors from low pressure conditions.
- Indoor Coil Freeze Protection: Prevents ice build-up on the indoor coil.
- Coil Construction: Copper tube, enhanced aluminum fins, flared shoulder tubing, silver soldered, factory leak tested.
Cabinet
- Construction: Heavy-gauge steel panels, full perimeter galvanized steel base rail with rigging holes and fork slots. Raised edges protect duct and power entry openings.
- Airflow Choice: Shipped in downflow (vertical) configuration; field convertible to horizontal airflow.
- Power Entry: Electrical lines routed through unit base or horizontal knock-outs.
- Exterior Panels: Heavy-gauge galvanized steel with textured pre-paint polyurethane finish, tested for salt fog and UV exposure.
- Insulation: Fully insulated with non-hygroscopic fiberglass in conditioned areas. Unit base is insulated for air sealing.
- Hinged Access Panels: For filter, heating/blower, and compressor/controls sections, with seals and quarter-turn latches for tight air/water seal.
Blower
- Motor: Overload protected, ball bearings. Motors 5 hp and above meet EISA 2007 standards.
- Supply Air Blower: Features forward curved blades, double inlet, statically and dynamically balanced. MSAV® system stages airflow using a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for controlled blower speed.
- VFD Operation: Alters frequency and voltage to control blower speed; adjustable for various airflow stages. Operational range: -40 to 125°F ambient.
Indoor Air Quality
- Air Filters: Standard disposable 2-inch MERV 4 filters. Optional Healthy Climate® High Efficiency filters (MERV 8, 13, 16) available.
- Healthy Climate® UVC Germicidal Light Kit: Uses UV-C energy to reduce microbes on illuminated surfaces; field installed in blower/evaporator coil section.
- Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI) Kit: Integrates with system controls to reduce pathogens, pollutants, and odors using bipolar ions.
- Indoor Air Quality (CO2) Sensors: Monitor CO2 levels to adjust economizer dampers.
- Replacement Filter Media Kit: Includes washable metal mesh screen and frame.
