WARNING: To reduce ignition risk, install at least 2" (51 mm) from sidewalls and the rear wall.
- The countertop must be level and horizontal.
- Countertop stability must be maintained after cutout.
- Solid surface countertops may require special installation (e.g., heat-reflective tape, rounded corners). Contact the manufacturer.
Prepare Installation Space
Create the countertop cutout as instructed. General requirements:
- Cut surface angle must be 90° to the countertop.
- For multi-layered countertops, secure lateral strips in the cutout if needed.
- Remove all debris after cutting.
- Seal cut surfaces to resist heat and water.
- Observe minimum distance of 3/8" (10 mm) between appliance underside and cabinet surfaces.
- Countertop must be heat-resistant up to 140° F (90 °C).
- Countertop thickness must be at least 13/16" (20 mm). Reinforce if necessary with fire/water-resistant material for stability.
- Countertop must withstand loads of approx. 133 lbs (60 kg).
