Elfbar Max E-Zigarette System

Device with a replaceable, rechargeable 650 mAh battery and integrated 1.5 ml clearomizer | pre-filled liquid container with 10 ml nicotine salt liquid (nicotine content 20 mg/ml)

Instructions for Use and Storage

CAUTION! Please read the following instructions carefully before use. The electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) is suitable for use with the pre-filled, replaceable ELFBAR MAX liquid containers. The device can be used once with 10 milliliters of liquid. The battery is fully charged upon delivery; it is replaceable and rechargeable via the USB-C port.

Connect the liquid-filled container to the battery. First, remove the protective cap from the base unit. To refill the e-cigarette, remove the silicone cover. Open the liquid container by pressing down and turning counter-clockwise simultaneously. Insert the refill container from the bottom into the receptacle of the base unit. Once it clicks into place, wait until the internal liquid tank is completely filled. Remove the battery to safely remove the refill container. Reinsert the silicone cover and child-proof the refill container by pressing the protective cap down and turning clockwise. To turn the device on, draw on the mouthpiece three times in quick succession within 2 seconds. You can then inhale the vapor of your e-cigarette by drawing on the mouthpiece. To turn the device off, draw three times in quick succession again. If the draw interval exceeds 10 seconds, the device will automatically stop power output.

The suitable temperature for charging the battery is 5°C to 45°C, and for use, it is -10°C to 60°C. Clean the device with a dry cloth or a cotton swab. Never store this product in rooms with very high temperatures or rooms with particularly high humidity. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight. Never store batteries or devices with integrated batteries together with other metallic objects such as keys or coins, for example, for transport in a pocket.

If you have dropped the e-cigarette product, please check that no components have loosened, that no liquid is leaking, and that there is no defect. If there are no signs of damage after visual inspection of the product, you can continue to use the device. Please wipe your mouthpiece for hygienic reasons before use. The product should not be used if cracks or abrasions are noticeable in the material or if a defective part needs to be replaced. Never attempt to repair the device yourself in case of a defect. The product should also not be used if the liquid in the container is used up or almost used up. The same applies if you notice a change in taste when using your e-cigarette.

When using e-cigarettes, observe local laws. E-cigarette products must not be used by the following persons:

Particularly Vulnerable Consumer Groups

For individuals with a family predisposition to addiction, cardiovascular, or respiratory diseases, the use of this product may pose an increased risk. For individuals who are sensitive to chemical substances, there is an increased risk of sensitization and allergic reactions due to the flavorings contained.

This product is not recommended for non-smokers. The sale and use of the product by children and adolescents is prohibited! The product must be kept out of reach of children and adolescents. Not a nicotine cessation aid! If you wish to quit nicotine consumption, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Information on Possible Adverse Health Effects

Nicotine is a toxic and very rapidly addictive substance. Nicotine has very high oral and dermal toxicity and must therefore never be swallowed or come into contact with the skin. Inhalation of nicotine can affect heart rate and blood pressure, possibly causing headaches, stomach pain, drowsiness, or nausea. Inhalation of nicotine can also reduce the efficiency of the respiratory system. Nicotine inhalation increases the risk of heart attack and high blood pressure.

Glycerin is an approved food additive. Inhalation of significant amounts may pose health risks; for example, animal studies have shown changes in the laryngeal epithelium and irritation of the nasal mucosa.

Propylene glycol is an approved food additive. In sensitive individuals, this substance can irritate the upper respiratory tract and eyes.

Contact with the product, including inhalation, can lead to allergic reactions or irritation of the respiratory tract due to the flavorings contained. Electronic cigarettes are relatively new products, so it cannot be entirely ruled out that unknown long-term health risks may emerge. Uncertainties exist particularly due to the flavorings contained. The safety of these substances for consumption as food has been confirmed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). A corresponding assessment for inhalation is not available. Consumption of the product can be harmful to health. Health impairment of third parties exposed to emissions may also occur through the consumption of the product. Be considerate and protect particularly sensitive individuals, such as children and pregnant women, from emissions. Use of the product is at your own risk.

In particular, undesirable substances can be released through improper use of an electronic cigarette. These substances can be released through overheating of the electronic cigarette by so-called pyrolysis (incomplete combustion), for example, due to too high a draw frequency or when used without sufficient liquid in the electronic cigarette, or by overheating of atomizing agents such as propylene glycol and glycerin. These undesirable substances include, in particular, carbonyl compounds, such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acetone. Formaldehyde can cause allergies, skin, respiratory, and eye irritation and can have a carcinogenic effect. Acetaldehyde is harmful to the liver and heart, among other things, and is genotoxic and carcinogenic. Acetone can irritate the bronchi and cause fatigue and headaches. In addition to carbonyl compounds, so-called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can also be formed through pyrolysis. PAHs can irritate the respiratory tract, among other things. Some PAHs are clearly carcinogenic in humans, and there is a possibility of fetal damage or impairment of reproductive capacity.

The risk of releasing these undesirable substances can be significantly reduced through proper use of an electronic cigarette. The qualitative properties of the components of an electronic cigarette can influence the risk of releasing undesirable substances. Stop using the e-cigarette immediately if you notice an unpleasant, different taste and check the possible causes. Adjust your consumption behavior if necessary (less frequent/intense draws, refill liquid in time).

If you notice an undesirable effect of the product on your well-being or in your surroundings: Stop use immediately! If in doubt, consult a doctor!

Information on Addictive Potential

Inhalation of nicotine can have a stimulating effect at low doses and a relaxing effect at medium doses, both of which can be perceived as pleasant. This can also lead to a potential for nicotine addiction. This product contains nicotine: a substance that is highly addictive.

Electrical and Electronic Equipment Disposal | Information for Private Households

Manufacturer/Importer Information according to § 18, Paragraph 4 ElektroG (new)

The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) contains numerous requirements for handling electrical and electronic equipment. The most important ones are summarized here.

1. Separate Collection of Old Equipment

Electrical and electronic equipment that has become waste is referred to as old equipment. Owners of old equipment must hand it over for separate collection from unsorted municipal waste. Old equipment must not be disposed of in household waste but must be collected and returned through special collection and return systems.

Never store this product in rooms with very high temperatures or rooms with particularly high humidity. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.

2. Batteries and Accumulators

Owners of old equipment must generally separate old batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the old equipment before handing them over to a collection point. This does not apply if the old equipment is handed over to public waste disposal facilities for the purpose of preparation for reuse and is separated from other old equipment there.

3. Options for Returning Old Equipment

Owners of old equipment from private households can hand it over at the collection points of public waste disposal authorities or at the return points set up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the ElektroG. Retailers of electrical and electronic equipment with an area of at least 400 m², as well as food retailers with an area of at least 800 m², are obliged to take back equipment if they permanently or several times a year offer or make electrical and electronic equipment available on the market. The provisions also apply to distribution using distance communication means, provided that the storage and shipping areas for electrical and electronic equipment are at least 400 m², or the entire storage and shipping areas are at least 800 m². Distributors must generally ensure suitable return options within a reasonable distance from the respective end-user. Among other things, there is the option of returning old equipment free of charge to a distributor obliged to take it back if a new, identical device is delivered to the end-user that essentially fulfills the same functions. If new equipment is delivered to a private household, an identical old device can also be handed over there for collection free of charge. This applies to distribution using distance communication means for devices of categories 1, 2, or 4 according to § 2, paragraph 1 ElektroG. These include "heat exchangers," "display devices," and "large appliances," provided the latter have at least one external dimension exceeding 50 cm. End-users are asked about their intention to return when concluding a purchase contract. The option of free return is also available at distributors' collection points, regardless of the purchase of new equipment, for old equipment that does not exceed 25 cm in any external dimension and is limited to three old devices per device type. An online directory of collection and return points can be found here: https://www.ear-system.de/ear-verzeichnis/sammel-und-ruecknahmestellen.jsf

4. Data Protection Notice

Old equipment often contains sensitive personal data. This applies in particular to information and communication technology devices such as computers and smartphones. Please note, in your own interest, that each end-user is responsible for deleting the data on the old equipment to be disposed of.

5. Meaning of the "Crossed-out Trash Can" Symbol

The symbol of a crossed-out trash can regularly depicted on electrical and electronic equipment indicates that the respective device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.

6. Manufacturer Registration Number

As a manufacturer within the meaning of the ElektroG, InnoCigs GmbH & Co. KG is registered with the responsible Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (Benno-Strauß-Str. 1, 90763 Fürth) under the following registration number: WEEE-Reg.-Nr. DE 84084940

Notice on Battery Disposal

The following notice is directed at those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form supplied to them (end-users):

a. Free Return of Old Batteries

Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You are legally obliged to return old batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can hand over old batteries at a municipal collection point or at local retailers. We, as distributors of batteries, are also obliged to take back old batteries, whereby our take-back obligation is limited to old batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our assortment. You can therefore either send back old batteries of the aforementioned type to us postage paid or hand them over free of charge directly at our shipping warehouse at the following address:

InnoCigs GmbH & Co. KG, Barnerstraße 14b, 22765 Hamburg

b. Meaning of Battery Symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out trash can (see above). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be placed in household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005% by mass of mercury, more than 0.002% by mass of cadmium, or more than 0.004% by mass of lead, the chemical designation of the pollutant used is located below the trash can symbol – "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" stands for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
