Chapter 1: Safety Information
Read all instructions before operating the set. Keep these instructions for future use.
Warning
Never place a television set in an unstable location. Many injuries, particularly to children, can be avoided by taking simple precautions such as using recommended furniture, ensuring the set is not overhanging, anchoring furniture, and educating children about climbing dangers.
Product
Do not block ventilation openings. Do not insert objects into the unit. Do not attempt to open the cabinet. Do not touch the screen surface with fingers or apply excessive pressure. This appliance is not intended for use by unsupervised young children or infirm persons.
Power and Plug
Unplug the set if it will not be used for a long period, if the power cord or outlet is damaged, or if the set has been dropped or damaged. Ensure the mains plug remains accessible. Protect the power cord and signal cable from being trampled or exposed to moisture. Do not overload the power cord or outlet.
Use Environment
Do not place the set on an unstable cart, stand, or table. Ensure good ventilation. Do not use near damp or cold areas. Avoid excessive heat, direct sunlight, or open flames. Do not expose to dripping or splashing. Do not use in dusty environments. Operating Temperature: 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F). Operating Humidity: 20% to 80% non-condensing. Storage Temperature: -15°C to 45°C (5°F to 113°F). Storage Humidity: 10% to 90% non-condensing.
Cleaning
Dust the set with a soft, clean cloth or special liquid cleaner. Do not apply excessive force to the screen. Do not use water or chemical cleaners on the screen.
Hanging the TV Set on the Wall
Warning: Requires two people. Ensure the wall can support the weight of the TV set and wall mount assembly. Follow mounting instructions. Install on a vertical wall using suitable screws. Ensure cables do not create a tripping hazard. Wall mount bracket not included. Some models are not designed for wall mounting.
Chapter 2: Connections and Setup
TV Buttons
If batteries in the remote are low, use the buttons on the TV set. Functions vary by model.
Initial Setup
The first time you switch on the set, a Welcome screen guides you through initial setup, including language selection and network connection. You can skip steps and perform setup later.
Sockets
Various sockets are available for connecting devices:
- USB 2.0 socket (input): Connect USB devices.
- HDMI(SERVICE) or HDMI(ARC) socket (input): Connect Blu-ray players, PCs, or HD-compatible digital satellite decoders for uncompressed digital video and audio.
- AV IN adapter socket: Connect video recorders, camcorders, decoders, satellite receivers, DVD players, or game consoles using the AV adapter cable.
- ANTENNA IN socket (input): Connect an external aerial.
- LAN: RJ45 plug for connecting to external modem or network access equipment.
- SPDIF or DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) socket (output): Connect a compatible digital audio receiver.
- Headphone socket (output): Connect headphones or stereo earphones. Warning: Excessive sound pressure can cause hearing loss.
Remote Control Functions
The supplied remote control navigates menus and configures settings. Functions include numeric buttons, navigation buttons, OK, EXIT, GUIDE, TEXT, SUBT., and colour buttons for various operations like channel selection, volume control, menu navigation, and accessing specific features like Netflix and HbbTV.
Installing Batteries
Open the back cover, insert two AAA batteries according to polarity, and replace the back cover.
Chapter 3: Basic TV Operations
Accessing Channels
Channels can be accessed using numeric buttons, P/V buttons for scrolling, or the LIST button to display the channel list. The RC802V remote also uses / buttons for scrolling and OK to display the channel list.
Watching Connected Devices
Press the source button on the remote to display the source list. Use / to select TV or other input sources and press OK. Alternatively, navigate to the (Inputs) area on the Smart TV homepage and select the desired input source.
Adjusting Volume
Use the +/- buttons to adjust volume. Press the Mute button to temporarily silence the sound; press again or use +/- to restore sound.
Accessing Smart TV Homepage
Allows access to Internet Applications (Apps), websites, and system settings. Press the Home button on the remote, navigate using directional buttons, and press OK. Press the Back button to return to the homepage or navigate to (Inputs) to exit.
Accessing Google Play
Google Play offers a wide range of entertainment including music, movies, TV shows, books, apps, and games.
Accessing T-Channel
Enjoy Video on Demand (VOD) content and featured applications by accessing T-Channel via its icon or the remote control.
Using System Settings menu
Adjust device settings like Network & Internet, Accounts & Sign-In, and Apps. Navigate to Settings via the remote, select desired items, and use OK to enter submenus. Use / to select options and OK to confirm. Press Back to return or EXIT to close.
Using Instant Power On
Enables faster TV startup from standby, but increases standby power consumption. Access via Settings > Device Preferences > Power > Instant power on.
Using TV Settings menu
Adjust picture and sound settings. Access via the remote control to display the Settings menu, then navigate to Picture or Sound options.
Chapter 4: Using more of your TV
Installing Channels
Search and store channels automatically. This is useful if you skipped initial setup, have no channels, or want to update. Navigate to Channel > Channel scan, select Automatic search, and follow on-screen prompts. Use Channel Organizer to hide or move channels.
Using Subtitles
Enable subtitles for TV channels. For digital broadcasts, select preferred subtitle languages in Channel > Subtitle > Digital subtitle language. A shortcut operation using the SUBT. button is available. Subtitle types, including 'Hearing impaired', can be selected in Channel > Subtitle > Subtitle type.
Using Teletext
Select Teletext decoding page language and digital teletext language in Channel > Teletext settings.
Network Wake Up
Allows remote TV wake-up via a network. Ensure the TV is connected to a home network, a controller device (like a smartphone) with a network waking app is used, and Networked standby is set to On in Settings.
T-Link
Search for CEC devices connected to HDMI sockets and enable auto power on/off. Configure in System > T-Link.
Using Auto Power On
Automatically powers on the TV when a CEC device is powered on.
Using Auto Standby
Automatically puts all CEC devices into standby when the TV is turned off.
HbbTV
HbbTV provides interactive television features on digital channels, requiring an internet connection. Access HbbTV applications by pressing the indicated colour button on screen. HbbTV can be turned On or Off in System > HbbTV settings.
Google Cast
Cast videos, games, and apps from mobile devices to the TV.
Using EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)
An on-screen guide for digital TV programmes. Access via Channel > EPG. Navigate using directional buttons. Features include Programme filter and custom schedules.
Bluetooth Function
Connect Bluetooth audio devices, mice, or keyboards. Access via Settings > Remotes & accessories > Add accessory. Note: 2.4GHz frequency may interfere with Bluetooth.
Freeview Plus
An aggregated TV service offering a 7+ day EPG, Catch Up content, reminders, and genre search. Launch Freeview Plus by pressing the corresponding colour key when prompted on screen. Requires internet connection and aerial.
Netflix settings
Access on-demand movies and TV shows via the Internet. Unlimited membership is required. Can be accessed directly via the Netflix button on the remote.
HDR Playback
Supports HDR up to 1920 x 1080 resolution for streaming and USB playback with compatible devices.
Password in Parental Control
The default password is 1234. A super password (0423) is available for resetting forgotten codes.
