Basic Bluetooth and Noise Canceling Information
This section provides an overview of the headphone's functions and indicators.
Front View
- Power/Pairing Button ( / ): Used for turning the device on/off, pairing, and play/pause.
- LED Indicator: Shows device status (e.g., blue for on, red for off, alternating blue/red for pairing).
- Noise Canceling Button: Activates or deactivates noise canceling mode.
- Noise Canceling LED: Indicates if noise canceling is active (green light).
- Touchpad: Used for volume control, track skipping, answering/ending calls, and activating voice assistant.
- 3.5 mm Audio Jack: For wired listening when Bluetooth is not in use or restricted.
- Micro USB Port: For charging the headphones.
- Charging LED Indicator: Shows charging status (red light when charging).
- Microphone: Integrated for phone calls.

Charging the Headphones
When the red LED flashes three times every five minutes and a voice prompt says "low battery," the battery needs charging. Connect the charging cable to a computer or adapter and the headphone's micro USB port. The red LED lights up during charging and turns off when fully charged.
Using the 3.5 mm Audio Cable
The headphones can be used with devices without Bluetooth or in environments where Bluetooth may be restricted (e.g., airplanes) by connecting the 3.5 mm audio cable. Connect one end to the headphone's audio jack and the other to the audio device's headphone jack. Note that digital sound enhancement, Bluetooth, and the microphone will not function when using the audio cable. End any calls before connecting the audio jack.
Using the Headphones
Powering On and Off
- Place the headphones over your head.
- Press and hold the / (Power button) for over 2 seconds. The LED indicator will flash blue (headphones on) or red (headphones off), and a voice prompt will say "Power on" or "Power off."
Pairing the Headphones
Pairing with a Cell Phone or MP3 Player:
- With the stereo headphones off, press and hold the / (Pairing button) for four seconds. The blue and red LEDs will flash alternately, indicating pairing mode.
- On your phone or MP3 player, select "INSIGNIA NS-AHBTOENC" from the list of detected devices and enter "0000" (four zeros) as the password if required.
- Refer to your device's documentation for more information on pairing Bluetooth devices. Once paired, the headphones will automatically reconnect to that device.
Pairing with a Windows Computer:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your computer.
- Double-click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray and select "Add a device."
- With the headphones off, press and hold the / (Pairing button) for four seconds until the blue and red LEDs flash alternately.
- Double-click the "INSIGNIA NS-AHBTOENC" icon on your computer or highlight it and click "Next." If the icon is not found, click "Search Again."
- If prompted, enter "0000" in the "Bluetooth security code" field and click "Next."
- Click "Close" when the headphones are paired. Refer to your computer's user guide or help menu to set the headphones as the default audio playback device.
Pairing with a Mac Computer:
- Ensure your Mac is Bluetooth-enabled.
- Click the Bluetooth status menu, then click "Set up Bluetooth Device." The Bluetooth Setup Assistant will appear.
- Click "Continue."
- Select "Headset" as the device type and click "Continue."
- With the headphones off, press and hold the / (Pairing button) for four seconds until the blue and red LEDs flash alternately.
- Select "INSIGNIA NS-AHBTOENC" and click "Continue." The computer will gather information.
- Click "Continue."
- Enter "0000" in the "Passkey" field and click "Continue."
- Click "Quit" to finish. To use the headphones, select "INSIGNIA NS-AHBTOENC" as the default input and output device in System Preferences > Sound.
Resetting the Stereo Headphones
With the headphones off, press and hold the / (Power or Pairing button) for ten seconds until the LED flashes ten times. The headphones will then enter pairing mode.

Troubleshooting
- No Power: Check if the headphone battery is charged and if the headphones are powered on.
- No Sound or Low Volume: Increase volume on headphones and Bluetooth device. Ensure the Bluetooth device is not muted. Decrease the distance between the headphones and the Bluetooth device. Verify the Bluetooth device is on, Bluetooth is enabled, and INSIGNIA NS-AHBTOENC is selected. Check if the headphones are paired with another Bluetooth device.
- Cannot Establish Bluetooth Connection: Ensure headphones are in pairing mode (press / for 4 seconds). Decrease distance. Turn devices off and on, then re-pair. Ensure headphones are not paired with another device. Verify both devices are in pairing mode and INSIGNIA NS-AHBTOENC is selected on the Bluetooth device.
- Bluetooth Device Keeps Disconnecting: Decrease distance. Charge the Bluetooth device if the battery is low. Charge the headphone battery if it is low.
- INSIGNIA NS-AHBTOENC Not Displaying on Bluetooth Device: Decrease distance. Put headphones in pairing mode and refresh the Bluetooth device list.
- Poor Sound Quality: Decrease distance. Pair with a different Bluetooth device. Adjust volume on the Bluetooth device.
- Microphone Not Working: The microphone only works with a Bluetooth connection.
- Headphones Paired, But No Audio: Ensure the source device is outputting audio to the headphones. Refer to the source device's documentation.
