Product Description

The DGS-3130-30TS managed stackable Layer 3 switch is engineered for secure end-user connectivity within enterprise or Metro Ethernet networks. It boasts 24 x 10/100/1000Base-T ports, 2 x 10GBase-T ports, and 4 x 10GBase-X SFP+ ports, supporting multicast groups and advanced security features, making it an ideal Layer 2 access solution. The switch also includes a USB 2.0 port for convenient firmware and configuration file management, as well as system log storage.

Reliability

Designed for enterprise and Metro Ethernet networks requiring high network security and maximum uptime. The DGS-3130-30TS features a connector for an external redundant power supply (DPS-500A2) to ensure continuous operation. It supports Spanning Tree protocols (802.1D, 802.1w, 802.1s), Loopback Detection, and Storm Control to enhance network resilience. The Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) technology provides minimal ring recovery time (50ms) in case of failure. Dynamic 802.3ad Link Aggregation Port Trunking is supported for load balancing and increased fault tolerance when using multiple switches.

Advanced Security Features

The DGS-3130-30TS supports robust security functionalities such as multi-level Access Control Lists (ACL), storm control, and IP-MAC-Port Binding (IMPB) with DHCP Snooping. The IP-MAC-Port Binding feature allows control over computer access to the network based on their IP and MAC addresses, as well as the connection port, thereby extending access management capabilities. DHCP Snooping automatically learns IP/MAC address pairs and filters DHCP packets, adding them to the IMPB "whitelist".

Access Control Policies

This switch supports authentication mechanisms like 802.1X, Web Access Control (WAC), and MAC-based access control for simplified network deployment. Individual policies, such as VLAN membership, QoS policies, and ACL rules, can be assigned to each node. Furthermore, the switch supports Microsoft® NAP (Network Access Protection), enabling users to prevent non-compliant computers from accessing the network.

Traffic Management

The DGS-3130-30TS offers a suite of multi-level QoS/CoS features, ensuring critical-latency network services like VoIP, video conferencing, and surveillance are handled with appropriate priority. Traffic Shaping functions guarantee bandwidth for these services during periods of high network load. With support for Layer 2 multicast, the DGS-3130-30TS facilitates IPTV application processing. IGMP/MLD Snooping on a per-port basis optimizes multicast traffic delivery, while ISM VLANs direct multicast streams to a dedicated Multicast VLAN, preserving bandwidth and enhancing network security. ISM VLAN profiles allow quick assignment or replacement of pre-set configurations on subscriber ports.
