Product and safety information
For your safety
Read these simple guidelines. Not following them can be dangerous or against local laws and regulations. For more information, read the complete user guide.
Switching off in restricted areas
Switch off the device when mobile phone use is not permitted or when it may cause interference or danger, for example, on an airplane, in hospitals or near medical equipment, fuel, chemicals, and explosive areas. Obey all instructions in restricted areas.
Road safety first
Obey all local laws. Always keep your hands free to operate the vehicle while driving. Road safety should be the most important thing when driving.
Interference
All wireless devices can be susceptible to interference, which may affect performance.
Authorized service
Only authorized personnel can install or repair this product.
Batteries, chargers, and other accessories
Use only batteries, chargers, and accessories approved by HMD Global Oy for this device. Do not connect incompatible products.
Keeping the device dry
If the device is water-resistant, refer to the IP rating for more detailed information.
Glass parts
The device or screen is made of glass. This glass can break if the device is dropped on a hard surface or receives a significant impact. If the glass breaks, do not touch the glass parts of the device or try to remove the broken glass from the device. Stop using the device until authorized service personnel replace the glass.
Hearing protection
To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volumes for prolonged periods. Exercise caution when holding the device near your ear and the speaker is in use.
Some wireless devices may interfere with hearing aids.
SAR
This device complies with radio frequency exposure standards. The mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the radio wave exposure limits (radiofrequency electromagnetic fields) recommended by international standards of the independent scientific organization ICNIRP. These standards incorporate considerable safety margins designed to ensure the protection of all persons, regardless of age or health status. These exposure standards are based on the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is an expression of the amount of radiofrequency (RF) energy deposited in the head or body when the device transmits. The ICNIRP limit for mobile devices is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of corporal tissue.
SAR tests are carried out in standard use positions, with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level and in all frequency bands. Consult the maximum SAR value of the device at www.hmd.com/sar.
This device complies with radio frequency exposure standards when used against the head or when used at a minimum distance of 5/8 inches (1.5 centimeters) from the body. When using a case, belt clip, or other form of support for the device, use only accessories that do not contain metal and that keep the device at the distance from the body indicated above.
To send data or messages, a good network connection is required. Sending may be suspended until an available connection is found. Follow the separation distance instructions until the transmission is completed.
During general use, SAR values are normally well below the values mentioned above. This is because, for system efficiency and to minimize network interference, the energy with which the device operates decreases automatically when maximum energy is not needed for a call. Lower energy means a lower SAR value.
Device models have different versions and more than one value. Design and component changes may be made over time, and some of them could affect SAR values.
For more information, visit www.sar-tick.com. Please note that mobile devices may transmit even when you are not making a voice call.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has indicated that current scientific information does not indicate the need for any special precautions when using mobile devices. If you are interested in reducing exposure, it is recommended that you limit use or use a hands-free kit to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information, explanations, and discussions about radiofrequency exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/peh-emf/en.

HAC Notice
This phone complies with the hearing aid compatibility requirements of the FCC. The FCC has adopted hearing aid compatibility rules for digital wireless phones. Under these rules, certain phones must undergo testing and classification under the hearing aid compatibility standards C63.19-2011 of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
The ANSI standard for hearing aid compatibility includes two classifications: M: Classification for a lower radio frequency interference that allows acoustic coupling with hearing aids. T: Classification for inductive coupling with hearing aids in the telecoil mode. Not all phones were classified. A phone is considered hearing aid compatible under the FCC rules if it has an M3 or M4 classification for acoustic coupling and T3 or T4 for inductive coupling. These classifications are given on a scale of one to four, where four refers to the most compatible phones. The phone is classified with the M4/T3 level. However, the hearing aid compatibility classification does not guarantee the absence of interference with hearing aids. Results vary depending on the immunity level of your hearing aid and your hearing loss level. If your hearing aid proves to be vulnerable to interference, you may not be able to use a classified phone correctly. Testing the phone with your hearing aid on is the best way to evaluate if it suits your personal needs. This phone was tested and classified as hearing aid compatible for use with hearing aids based on certain wireless technologies it uses. However, some new wireless technologies may be used in this phone that have not yet been tested for hearing aid compatibility. It is important that you test each of the phone's different functions in different locations, with your hearing aid or cochlear implant, to determine if you hear any interfering sound. Contact your service provider or the phone manufacturer for information about hearing aid compatibility. If you have questions about exchange and return policies, contact your service provider or the phone's seller. Hearing aids can also be classified. Your hearing aid manufacturer or hearing health professional can help you find this classification. For more information about FCC hearing aid compatibility, visit http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/dro (in English).
