Thank you for purchasing the Ninja® Foodi® Max SmartLid™ Multi-Cooker.

Important Safety Precautions

Read all instructions before using your Ninja Foodi®. For household use only.

  • Keep packaging materials away from children due to suffocation risk.
  • This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if supervised or instructed on safe use.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
  • Do not use near or on hot surfaces like gas or electric stovetops, in heated ovens, or near open flames.
  • Ensure adequate space around the appliance for air circulation.
  • Always tilt the lid away from you when opening to avoid steam burns.
  • Never open the lid during or immediately after pressure cooking until all internal pressure is released and the appliance has cooled slightly.
  • If the lid is locked, pressure is still present. Do not force the float valve. Wait for pressure to release naturally or use the Steam Release button. Be cautious of escaping steam. The control panel will display 'OPN LID' when safe to open. If no steam is released, unplug and allow natural pressure release.
  • Keep the appliance and cord away from children.
  • Avoid contact with hot surfaces. Use oven mitts or pot holders.
  • Do not use the appliance without the removable cooking pot.
  • Do not use with an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  • Ensure the cooking pot and appliance are clean before use.
  • Do not heat the appliance for more than 10 minutes with an empty cooking pot.
  • Do not use as a deep fryer.
  • Do not cover the pressure release valves during cooking.
  • Do not sauté or sear dishes while using the pressure cooking function.
  • Exercise caution when searing and sautéing meat; keep hands and face away from the removable pot.
  • This appliance is for household use only. Do not use outdoors or in vehicles/boats.
  • Use on a level, flat, stable, and dry surface. Do not move while in use.
  • Regularly inspect the appliance and power cord for damage. Discontinue use if damaged and contact service.
  • Ensure the appliance is properly assembled before use.
  • Check the pressure release valve and float valve for blockages before each use. Ensure the float valve moves freely.
  • Certain foods (e.g., applesauce, cranberries, barley, oats, peas, noodles, pasta, rhubarb, spaghetti) can foam and expand, potentially blocking the pressure release valve. Foods that expand (e.g., dried vegetables, beans, grains, rice) should only be cooked according to Ninja® Foodi™ recipes.
  • When cooking expanding foods under pressure, do not fill the pot more than halfway and follow recipe recommendations.
  • Do not cover the vent during operation to prevent uneven cooking or overheating.
  • Use only SharkNinja silicone rings. Ensure the ring is properly installed and the lid is closed securely.
  • Do not use unauthorized accessories.
  • Always adhere to the maximum and minimum liquid levels specified in instructions and recipes.
  • Keep the appliance away from walls and cabinets to avoid steam damage.
  • Do not use the appliance for slow cooking without food and liquid in the pot.
  • Do not move the appliance during use to prevent accidental lid opening.
  • Avoid food contact with heating elements. Do not overfill the pot.
  • Do not use for instant rice.
  • Be aware that outlet voltage may vary.
  • If black smoke appears, unplug the appliance and wait for smoke to stop before removing accessories.
  • Appliance surfaces may be hot during and after use. Use oven mitts.
  • Exercise extreme caution with hot oil, food, or liquids, or when the appliance is under pressure.
  • Steam exits the vent during operation; position the appliance away from flammable materials.
  • Never disassemble the pressure release valve or float valve assembly.
  • Keep the lid closed during slow cooking.
  • Be careful when removing hot food and liquids.
  • Always use protective gloves or pot holders.
  • Do not allow children under 8 to clean or maintain the appliance without supervision.
  • Allow the appliance to cool for at least 30 minutes before cleaning or storing.

Before First Use

1. Remove all packaging materials.

2. Read all instructions, warnings, and safety precautions.

3. Wash the silicone ring, cooking pot, Cook & Crisp™ basket, rack, and condensation collector in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. NEVER wash the main unit, probe, or probe cap in a dishwasher.

4. The silicone ring is reversible and can be inserted in either direction. Ensure it is fully seated in the silicone ring holder on the underside of the lid.

5. Use oven mitts or pot holders when removing items from the appliance.

Condensation Collector: Insert into the designated slot on the appliance base. Clean after each use.

Digital Probe: Unpack the probe, remove any packaging. Store the probe cap in its designated slot. Insert the probe into the appliance. Ensure the probe cap is not lost, as the appliance will not function without it.

Note: The probe and its cord will be hot during and after cooking.

Using the Digital Food Probe

The digital probe allows for precise cooking based on internal temperature.

  • Insert the probe horizontally into the thickest part of the food, avoiding bone and fat.
  • Ensure the probe tip is centered and not angled.
  • For whole chicken, insert into the thickest part of the breast, parallel to the bone but not touching it. Ensure the tip reaches the center without piercing through to the cavity.

Cooking with the Probe:

1. Select a cooking function.

2. If using PRESET, select the desired food type and doneness using the arrows. If using MANUAL, select the desired temperature.

3. Place food with the probe inserted into the appliance and close the lid.

4. The appliance will automatically stop cooking when the target temperature is reached. Remove food promptly to avoid overcooking.
