This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surface. If provided, always use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended. Always unplug the heater when not in use. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater or return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair. Do not use the heater outdoors. This heater is not intended for use in bathroom, laundry areas and similar moistindoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or otherwater container. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. CAUTION: It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however, aloose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheatingand distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose orworn outlet. To disconnect the heater, first turn controls to the O position, then remove plug from outlet. Never pull by the cord. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater. CAUTION: Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip). A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in the areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. 02 The output of this heater may vary and its temperature may become intense enough to burn exposed skin. Use of this heater is not recommended for persons with reduced sensitivity to heat or an inability to react to avoid burns. Don't leave the heater on unattended. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. 03 PHTA1ABB =900W =1500W 04 Thermostat Control Carry handle (behind unit) Power and Setting Control Power indicator light 05 This heater is pre-assembled in factory. ELECTRICAL RATINGS This product is rated 12.5 amps (1500W) at 120V, 60 Hz. OPERATION Place the heater on a firm, level surface free from obstructions, and at least 3 ft.(0.9m) away from any wall or combustible material. With the Power and Setting Control in the position. plug the heater into a grounded 120Voutlet. Always operate the heater in the upright position. To turn the heater on, whileturning the Power and Setting Control to the desired position ( for 900W for 1500W). When the room reaches a comfortable temperature, slowly turn the Thermostat Control counter-clockwise until the heater goes off. This is the point at which the thermostat setting equals the room temperature. At this setting, the thermostat will automatically turn the heater on and off to maintain this selected temperature. Turn the Power and Setting Control to and unplug the heater when you finish using it. RESET INSTRUCTIONS IF THE UNIT SHUTS DOWN PLEASE OPERATE AS FOLLOWS. 1)TURN THE UNIT OFF 2)UNPLUG UNIT WAIT 10 MINUTES 3)PLUG IN AND TURN ON FAN OPERATION To use the unit as a cooling air circulator without heat, turn the power and setting control to . IF YOUR HEATER FAILS TO OPERATE: Be sure it is plugged in and that the electrical outlet is working. Check for any obstruction. If you find an obstruction turn the heater . Unplugthe heater and wait at least ten minutes for it to cool. Carefully remove the obstruction. Plug the heater back in and restart it as described under OPERATION. If you still notice the same defect above mentioned, remove the plug from thesocket and have the appliance serviced by authorized service personnel only. SAFETY FEATURES This heater is equipped with an automatic Safety Shutoff Switch for overheat protection, which is activated when the internal temperature exceeds normal operating temperatures. If this occurs, turn the heater to " ". Unplug the heater and allow it to cool. Inspect and carefully remove any objects on or adjacent to the heater. Plug the heater back in and resume normal operation.Tip Over Switch:This heater includes a Safety Tip-Over Protection Feature which will shut the heater off in case it is tipped over. The heater will resume its normal operation. 07 CARE AND MAINTENANCE We recommend that the heater be cleaned at least once a month and before off-season storage. Turn the heater and unplug it. Allow it to cool. Use a dry cloth to clean the external surfaces of the heater. DO NOT USE WATER, WAX, POLISH ORANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION. Clean your heater using the above-mentioned steps, then pack the heater in its original container and store it in a cool dry place. This heater does not disassemble. PUISSANCE ÉLECTRIQUE 07 FONCTIONNEMENT · Placez le radiateur sur une surface plane et solide, sans obstacles, et à une distance d'au moins 3 pieds (0,9 m) d'un mur ou d'un matériau combustible. · Lorsque les commandes d'alimentation et de réglage sont en position , branchez le radiateur sur une prise de courant de 120 V reliée à la terre. Le radiateur doit toujours être utilisé en position verticale. · Pour allumer le radiateur, tournez la commande de puissance et de réglage sur la position souhaitée ( pour 900 W pour 1500 W). · Lorsque la pièce atteint une température confortable, tournez lentement la commande du thermostat dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'à ce que le radiateur s'éteigne. C'est le point où le réglage du thermostat est égal à la température ambiante. Avec ce réglage, le thermostat allumera et éteindra automatiquement le radiateur pour maintenir cette température sélectionnée. · Mettez la commande d'alimentation et de réglage sur et débranchez le radiateur lorsque vous avez fini de l'utiliser. SI VOTRE RADIATEUR DE CHAUFFAGE NE FONCTIONNE PAS : · Assurez-vous qu'il est branché et que la prise électrique fonctionne. · Vérifiez qu'il n'y a pas d'obstruction. Rebranchez le radiateur et redémarrez-le tel que décrit à la section FONCTIONNEMENT. · Si vous constatez toujours la même panne, débranchez la fiche de la prise de courant et faites réparer l'appareil uniquement par un personnel agréé. DISPOSITIFS DE SÉCURITÉ Ce radiateur est équipé d'un interrupteur de sécurité automatique pour la protection contre la surchauffe, qui s'active lorsque la température interne dépasse les températures normales de fonctionnement.
