Using the Control Panel
The control panel allows for intuitive operation. Press the central dial to START or STOP any program. Turn the dial to select options.
- POWER: Press to power the unit on and off.
- MANUAL: Provides adjustable speed for complete blending control.
- BLENDSETM: An intelligent one-touch program that senses your ingredients and blends them to perfection automatically.
- MODE: Offers preset processing programs (LARGE CHOP, SMALL CHOP, and MINCE) designed to chop and mince ingredients.
- PULSE: Operates only when the PULSE button is pressed. Use short presses for brief pulses and long presses for extended pulsing.
BlendSense™ Technology
BlendSense™ Technology is the core innovation of this blender, automatically adjusting speed and time for perfectly smooth results. It identifies fresh or frozen ingredients and the recipe size, then optimizes time, speed, and power for consistent outcomes.
How it Works:
The process involves three stages:
- SENSING: Starts blending to analyze your ingredients.
- BLEND: Automatically selects the optimal blending speed, time, and pulses.
- ENJOY: Blends to perfection, regardless of portion size.
During the initial blending phase (first 15 seconds), BlendSense actively adjusts speed and time based on the ingredients and recipe size.
Blending Possibilities:
- BLENDING: Continuous blending without pulsing.
- CRUSH AND MAX-CRUSH: Detects tougher and frozen ingredients, adjusting pulsing patterns for a smooth blend.
- THICK MODE: Designed to create thick, spoonable results.
BlendSense is ideal for achieving smooth textures in smoothies, frozen drinks, smoothie bowls, dips, purees, and sauces. Note that the runtime displayed in seconds can vary from a few seconds up to nearly two minutes.
Error Detection:
An 'INSTALL' indicator illuminates if no vessel is installed or if it is installed incorrectly. To resolve, reinstall the vessel securely.
Processing Mode Programs
These smart preset programs utilize unique pausing patterns to assist with chopping. Select a program by pressing MODE, turning the dial, and then pressing START/STOP. The program stops automatically when complete, or you can press the dial to stop it sooner.
- LARGE CHOP: Cuts ingredients into bite-sized pieces.
- SMALL CHOP: Provides a precision level of chopping.
- MINCE: Achieves the finest level of chopping.
Manual Programs
Gain full control over your blending with manual operation. Press MANUAL, turn the dial to select your desired speed (1-10), and then press START/STOP. Each selected speed runs continuously for 60 seconds. Press the dial again to stop the program early.
Variable Speed Control (Speeds 1-10):
- START SLOW (Speeds 1-3): Recommended for incorporating ingredients and preventing them from sticking to the vessel sides.
- DIAL UP THE SPEED (Speeds 4-7): Higher speeds are suitable for achieving smoother blends, purees, and dressings.
- HIGH-SPEED BLENDING (Speeds 8-10): Blend until your desired consistency is reached for optimal breakdown and smoothness.

Using the Pitcher
Assembly:
- Place the pitcher onto the motor base and turn clockwise to lock it securely in place.
- Holding the Stacked Blade Assembly by the top of its shaft, insert it into the pitcher.
- Install the lid, then press down to lower the handle, locking it in place.
Blend & Enjoy:
- When powering on the unit, the BlendSense™ program is active by default. Press the dial to start the program. For Manual or Processing Mode programs, press the relevant button, select your setting using the dial, and then press the dial to begin. Press the dial again at any time to stop the program.
- Once blending is complete, turn the pitcher counterclockwise and lift it off the base.
- For thinner mixtures, ensure the lid is locked and open the pour spout. For thicker mixtures, press the RELEASE button, lift the handle to remove the lid, and carefully lift out the blade assembly before pouring.
NOTE: The pitcher lid handle will only fold down when the lid is attached to the pitcher.
WARNING: The Stacked Blade Assembly is loose and sharp. Ensure the lid is securely locked onto the pitcher before pouring. If pouring without the lid, carefully remove the blade assembly first to prevent laceration. Refer to the Ninja Owner's Guide for more details.
Blending 101
Guidelines for optimal results using the 72-ounce pitcher:
INGREDIENTS | 1-2 SERVINGS | 3-4 SERVINGS |

Liquid and Yogurt | 1-2 cups | 2 1/2-1 2/3 cups |
Fresh and/or Frozen Fruit | 2 1/2-3 1/2 cups | 3 1/2-4 1/2 cups |

- Then, add 2-4 tablespoons of any dry or sticky ingredients like seeds, powders, and nut butters (optional).
- Top off with ice or frozen ingredients.
