1. Introduction
Ford Motor Company thanks you for choosing its products. Your vehicle's warranty protection begins at purchase. While your selling dealer is preferred for repairs, any authorized Ford dealership can perform warranty work. Some specialized repairs, particularly those involving high-voltage components, require an Electric Vehicle (EV) Certified Ford dealership. You can find EV Certified dealers via the dealer locator on Ford.com or by contacting the Customer Relationship Center.
2. Important Information You Should Know
Customer Assistance
Your Ford Dealer is your primary resource. For unresolved issues, escalate to the Sales Manager, Service Manager, or Customer Relations Manager. For policy clarification, contact the Ford Customer Relationship Center.
Warranty Start Date
The Warranty Start Date is the date you take delivery or the date the vehicle is first put into service, whichever is earlier. For new retail sales in California on or after July 1, 2023, the start date and mileage may be delayed until customer delivery.
Check Your Vehicle
Ford aims to deliver vehicles free of damage. If you notice any damage upon delivery, notify your dealership within one week.
Maintain Your Vehicle Properly
Adhering to the maintenance schedule in your Owner's Manual is crucial. Proper maintenance prevents major repair expenses due to neglect and preserves vehicle value. Failure to perform scheduled maintenance as specified may invalidate warranty coverage for affected parts. Retain all maintenance receipts.
EV dealerships and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers have factory-trained technicians using genuine Ford parts for required maintenance.
Who Pays for Warranty Repairs?
You will not be charged for covered repairs within the stated periods, unless otherwise noted. Some states may have specific time coverage periods for certain parts (e.g., seatbelts). Taxes on warranty repairs may be your responsibility, as per applicable law.
Ford may offer no-cost service improvements or special adjustment programs for repairs beyond standard warranty terms. Inquire with your dealer or the Customer Relationship Center (1-800-392-3673) and have your VIN ready.
Do Warranties Apply in Other Countries?
Traveling Outside the U.S., U.S. Territories, or Canada: Your Ford Warranty generally applies if your vehicle model is sold or serviceable by an authorized Ford Distributor/Dealer in the country you are visiting. Service may be available at any authorized Ford dealership. You might need to pay the servicing dealer and seek reimbursement from a U.S./Canada Ford dealer. Reimbursement is not provided if the vehicle does not return to the U.S./Canada.
Moving to Another Country: Contact the local Ford Customer Relations Center (CRC) to verify serviceability and warranty coverage, which may be less than or equal to your original coverage. Check destination country customs rules before moving.
Notes: Repairs from improper fuels/lubricants, vehicles for resale abroad, U.S. vehicles not registered/titled in the U.S./Territories/Canada, and vehicles purchased through the Ford Export Operations Military Sales Program (if serviceable abroad) have specific warranty conditions. Serviceability and destination warranty coverage are at Ford's discretion.

Limitations and Disclaimers
This warranty is the sole express warranty provided by Ford. No other obligations or liabilities are assumed. Ford and its dealers reserve the right to make changes to vehicles without obligation to apply them to previously sold vehicles. Ford may also provide post-warranty repairs or extend coverage at its discretion. You are responsible for proper use, maintenance, and care as outlined in your Owner's Manual. Ford recommends keeping all maintenance records.
Ford and dealers are not responsible for lost time, income, inconvenience, loss of transportation, rental costs, fuel, telephone, travel, meals, lodging, loss of property, loss of revenue, or other incidental/consequential damages. Punitive, exemplary, or multiple damages are not recoverable unless prohibited by law. Claims cannot be brought as a class action. Ford is not liable for damages caused by delays in delivery or service.
Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose may exist but are limited by law to the duration of the written warranty or state law, whichever is shorter. Ford disclaims implied warranties for business/commercial use and for racing use.
Warranty interpretation is governed by the state of purchase. Some states may not allow limitations on implied warranty duration or exclusion of incidental/consequential damages. Ford participates in the BBB AUTO LINE dispute resolution program (call 800-955-5100). Disputes must be submitted to BBB AUTO LINE before pursuing remedies under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act or state "Lemon Laws."

What is Covered?
Your New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers parts that malfunction or fail during normal use due to manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship, provided the vehicle is properly operated, maintained, and taken to an authorized Ford dealership for warranted repairs during the warranty period. Repairs for high voltage battery assemblies must be done by an EV Certified Ford dealership.
This warranty remedies manufacturing defects. The exclusive remedy is repair, replacement, or adjustment of defective parts. Ford's liability is limited to the cost of correcting defects and terminates upon warranty expiration.
Ford will use Ford, Motorcraft, or authorized remanufactured parts for repairs. Defective parts may be replaced with parts of a different type or design if they function properly. Ford and its dealers are entitled to a reasonable time and number of attempts to diagnose and repair defects.
Tire Coverage: The New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers tire defects in factory-supplied material or workmanship for labor costs (100%) and parts on a prorated basis based on mileage:
- 1-12,000 miles: 100% parts coverage
- 12,001-24,000 miles: 60% parts coverage
- 24,001-36,000 miles: 30% parts coverage
Tire manufacturer warranties may extend beyond the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Contact tire manufacturers directly for their warranty information. A table lists tire manufacturers, their websites, and toll-free numbers.
If you use a tire service center for a warranty repair, you may be charged a prorated amount for wear. Present your paid invoice to a Ford dealership for refund consideration.
Specific Component Coverages:
- Powertrain: 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Covers driveline components not covered by the EV Component warranty.
- Electric Vehicle Component (High Voltage Battery and eDrive): 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Includes battery assembly, BEC, BECM, charger, ISC, DC/DC converter, and eDrive. Replacement parts may be new, remanufactured, or refurbished.
- Safety Restraint System (SRS): 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Covers safety belts and airbags.
- Corrosion Coverage: 5 years, unlimited miles, for perforation due to manufacturing defects. Aluminum panels with corrosion/rust damage (not due to abnormal use) are covered for 5 years, unlimited miles. Paint damage from airborne material is covered if reported within 7 days of delivery.
High Voltage Lithium-Ion Battery Capacity Coverage: Ford warrants the high voltage battery against excessive capacity loss for 8 years/100,000 miles. Excessive loss is defined as capacity falling below 70% (or 65% for cutaway/chassis cab) of its original capacity. Ford determines repair/replacement methods. Battery components selected will align with vehicle age and mileage.
Ford Power-Up Software Updates: Diagnosis, repair, or adjustment of components damaged or inoperable due to a defect caused by a Ford Power-Up software update is covered during the warranty period.
What is Not Covered?
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty does not cover damage caused by:

5. Additional Information About Your Warranty Coverage
Replacement Parts
Ford recommends genuine Ford replacement parts for all repairs. For non-warranty work, non-Ford parts may be used if they are equivalent in performance, quality, and durability. Using non-equivalent parts may affect vehicle systems and warranty coverage.
Owner's Warranty Responsibilities
You are responsible for performing required maintenance as per the Owner's Manual. Retaining all maintenance receipts is recommended, though Ford cannot deny coverage solely for lack of receipts or failure to perform scheduled maintenance. Present your vehicle to a Ford Dealer promptly when a problem arises; repairs should be completed within 30 days. Ford may deny coverage for failures due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance, or unapproved modifications.
Preserving Your Warranty
To preserve your warranty, follow Owner's Manual recommendations for battery maintenance (especially during storage), use and charging of the high voltage battery assembly, and ensure all high voltage battery software updates are installed within 30 days of availability. Updates can be automatic or performed by your Ford Dealer at no cost. Damage from failure to install updates is not covered.
High voltage battery assembly service and repairs must be performed by EV Certified Ford dealerships due to specialized training and equipment required.
6. Noise Emissions Warranty
This warranty covers the design, build, and equipment of light trucks to conform to applicable U.S. EPA Noise Control Regulations for the life of the vehicle. It covers defects causing noise emissions to exceed Federal standards. This warranty does not cover consequential damages like loss of time or inconvenience. It does not apply to certain vehicles, including those without a fully enclosed operator's compartment, those with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 10,000 pounds or less, or those sold outside the United States and its territories.
7. Ford Protect Extended Service Plan
Ford Protect offers extended coverage for your vehicle, backed by Ford Motor Company or Ford Motor Service Company, up to 8 years or 150,000 miles. Plans include benefits like rental reimbursement, tire/wheel hazard protection, maintenance coverage, and lost key replacement. They also provide protection against repair costs and continue Roadside Service Assistance after the bumper-to-bumper warranty expires.
Ford Protect plans can be purchased from any Ford dealer or at fordprotect.ford.com. Plans offer various time, distance, and deductible combinations tailored to your needs. Coverage is provided across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Repairs outside these regions are not eligible. The high voltage battery assembly is not eligible for extended warranty plans.
8. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) AUTO LINE Program (U.S. Only)
If you are unsatisfied with a warranty resolution, you can use the BBB AUTO LINE program for mediation and arbitration. The program aims to help settle claims. If mediation fails and your claim is eligible, an arbitration hearing will be scheduled. The arbitrator's decision is binding if accepted. Disputes are typically resolved within 40 days.
To apply, call BBB AUTO LINE at 1-800-955-5100 or write to them at 1676 International Drive, Suite 550, McLean, VA 22102. Applications can also be requested via the Ford Customer Relationship Center at 1-800-392-3673. Ford reserves the right to change program procedures.
9. California Lemon Law
For warranty concerns in California, if unsatisfied with the resolution and seeking civil penalties, follow these steps under California law:
- At least 30 days before filing a lawsuit, notify Ford with your name, other owner names, VIN, and a summary of repair history and problems.
- Demand Ford repurchase or replace your vehicle.
Your notice must be in writing and sent via email to LLNOTICE@ford.com or certified/registered mail to: Ford Motor Company, Office of General Counsel, Attn: California LL Notice, One American Road, Dearborn, MI 48126. You must possess your vehicle when submitting the notice.
10. Ley limón de California (California Lemon Law - Spanish)
This section provides the same information as the California Lemon Law section, but in Spanish.
11. State Warranty Enforcement Laws
State laws, often called "lemon laws," allow owners to receive a replacement vehicle or refund under certain circumstances. Laws vary by state. Ford requires written notification of defects/non-conformities to allow for repairs before you pursue state remedies. In states without specific requirements, Ford requests written notification. Send notification to: Ford Motor Company, Customer Relationship Center, P.O. Box 6248, Dearborn, MI 48126.
12. Important Information About Ambulance Conversions
Ford vehicles are suitable for ambulance conversions only if equipped with the Ford Ambulance Prep Package. Manufacturers should follow recommendations in the Ford Incomplete Vehicle Manual and Ford Truck Body Builders Layout Book. Using a vehicle without the Prep Package could lead to elevated temperatures, fuel pressurization issues, and fire risks, voiding warranties. Check the driver's rear door pillar for the Prep Package information plate. Contact the ambulance manufacturer to verify adherence to Ford's recommendations.
