DocumentDocumentUser Manual Overbed Table User Responsibility READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING This manual is intended to instruct a healthcare professional how to operate and care for the overbed table as well as to provide important information to allow for proper training of safety to other users of the overbed table. Only those properly trained on its use should operate this overbed table. Using this overbed table for anything outside of its intended use may result in personal injury or damage to the overbed table. Receiving Inspection Remove the overbed table from the packaging and inspect it for damage. If there is any sign of damage, DO NOT USE and contact your provider. Intended Use Overbed tables are intended to be used in healthcare facilities to provide patients a surface that spans the bed or seating allowing them to eat, work and store personal belongings. Additionally, the overbed table provides a surface for medical staff to hold supplies while working with a patient. 1 Amico Patient Care Corporation Safety Precautions Carefully read and strictly follow the warnings and cautions listed. WARNINGS: · DO NOT exceed the safe working load of any surfaces or accessories. · DO NOT lean or sit on table, as it may cause table to tip. · DO NOT use as assistive walking device. · ALWAYS use overbed table on flat surfaces. · ALWAYS make sure the flip surface is clear of items prior to lowering. To lower overbed table, pull up on the height adjustment handle and press down on the main surface. When desired height is reached, release height adjustment handle. 2. To raise the overbed table, gently pull up on the table top using both hands. www.amico.com 4 Directions for Proper Use of Overbed Table USE OF FLIP SURFACE (OPTIONAL) WARNINGS · DO NOT exceed the safe working load of any surfaces. · ALWAYS make sure the flip surface is clear of items prior to lowering. CAUTIONS · ALWAYS lower the flip gently to its resting position. 1. To raise flip surface, swing surface to a horizontal position and the support locks in place. 2. To lower flip surface, slightly lift the surface to release the support lock and then gently lower the surface to the vertical position. RAISING FLIP SURFACE LOWERING FLIP SURFACE USE OF VANITY (OPTIONAL) 1. To access vanity, pull tray towards you, and lift mirror to vertical position. 2. To lock caster, press down on the lever with your foot. 2. To unlock caster, lift up on lever with your foot. Tilt the adapter into the mating groove of the accessory rail of the overbed table. 2. Adjust urinal hook to desired position then turn knob clockwise until adapter is secure in place. www.amico.com 6 Directions for Proper Use of Overbed Table Storage Basket 1. From the bottom of the accessory rail slide the basket's rail adapter into the mating groove. 2. Adjust basket to desired position then turn knob clockwise until adapter is secure in place. Some cleaning agents are corrosive by nature, and if not rinsed their residue can cause permanent damage. Amico Patient Care recommends using a mild cleaning agent or detergent when cleaning this product. If other hospital-grade cleaning agents are used, follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer. After cleaning rinse surfaces using a water-dampened cloth, and dry thoroughly as some cleaning agents are corrosive by nature, and if not rinsed their residue can cause permanent damage. Consult Amico Patient Care for approved cleaning agents for your overbed table. Preventative Maintenance Checklist CAUTIONS · DO NOT use any lubricant as it can damage the overbed table. Periodic inspection of this overbed table is recommended. If any damage or defects are present, the overbed table should not be used. This includes parts that may have been altered, become contaminated or are worn or missing. If any of the above are noted, immediate repair or replacement is required. If this overbed table is subject to improper maintenance, repair, use and/or abuse leading to malfunction of the overbed table, replacement is the sole responsibility of the user. Inspect the following items: All fasteners are secured Table surfaces are not damaged Height adjustment handle locks and releases Table moves freely up and down Base is not damaged All casters are secured and swivel freely Optional storage basket is free from damage and secured Optional urinal hook is free from damage and secured Optional vanity operates correctly and is free from damage www.amico.com 8 Warranty Policy - Patient Care Furniture Amico Patient Care Corporation will warrant its Patient Care Equipment to be free from defects as stated in the warranty period mentioned below. Within this period, Amico Patient Care Corporation will replace any part which is proven to be defective, at no charge. Shipping and Installation costs after the first twelve (12) months will be borne by the Customer. Amico Patient Care Corporation's warranties are as follows: · Height Adjustable Overbed Tables, Bassinets (Jordan & Lily Series), Delivery Carts (Ryan Series), and Carts (Sit-to-Stand Series) - 2 years · Casegoods, Carts, and Bassinets (Marco, Ava & Connor Series) - 5 years · Seating - Limited Lifetime Warranty Note: Parts not manufactured by Amico are subject to the manufacturer's warranty. This includes, but is not limited to, all locks and accessories which have been installed on units by Amico. This warranty is valid only when the product has been properly installed according to Amico Patient Care Corporation specifications, used in a normal manner and serviced according to factory recommendations. It does not cover failures due to damage which occurs in shipments or failures which result from accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, mishandling, alteration, misapplication or damage that may be attributable to acts of God. Amico Patient Care Corporation shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of the equipment. All claims for warranty must first be approved by Amico Patient Care Corporation's Customer Service Department at: apc-csr@amico.com or 905.764.0800. Upon approval, the Customer Service Department will issue a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number.
