Getting Started

Congratulations on your purchase of the Sureshot PINLOC 6000iM. This owner's guide will help you achieve optimal performance by explaining the Sureshot PINLOC 6000iM's features and operation, along with how to care for your laser. To ensure the best performance and longevity, please read these instructions before using your PINLOC 6000iM.

The PINLOC 6000iM is packed with features such as:

Device Overview

The device features several key components:

Contents of Box

To begin using your PINLOC 6000iM, remove the protective plastic from the battery and insert it into the laser rangefinder. Refer to page 2 for the Battery Door location.

Internal Magnet

The PINLOC 6000iM features an internal magnet on its side, enabling attachment to any magnetic metal surface for quick and easy access (e.g., on a golf cart or buggy). Ensure the connection is strong enough before attaching. Improper use of the internal magnet is not covered under warranty.

Adjusting the Focus

The PINLOC 6000iM is designed with an adjustable eyepiece (dioptre). To adjust focus for clear vision, look through the eyepiece and turn the dioptre a quarter turn left or right until the view is sharp.

Operating Instructions

Hold the PINLOC 6000iM to your eye. Press the Power button once to turn it on. The LCD display will show three lines and a small rectangular box. Align your target within the rectangular box, then press the Power button again. The distance to the target will be displayed instantly.

Priority Loc

The PINLOC 6000iM instinctively locks onto the nearest target, even if it's the smallest among multiple objects. This feature ensures accurate distance readings by scanning the area and displaying only the nearest distance. It activates automatically when the Power button is pressed once.

PINLOC Mode (?)

PINLOC technology ensures even the smallest target is locked on from the longest possible distance, delivering pinpoint accuracy. This feature is automatically engaged when the Power Button is depressed quickly once.

Scan Mode (S)

The Scan feature provides continuous distance updates to various targets across a panoramic area. To use Scan Mode, press the side button once. Then, press the Power button and pan across the target area. An "S" will appear in the viewfinder to indicate Scan Mode is active. To finish scanning, press the Power Button again; the crosshairs will disappear, and the laser will stop scanning.

Decimal Place (dE)

When the decimal place indicator is shown on screen, all measurements are displayed to 1 decimal place. To toggle this feature on or off, quickly double-press the Mode button.

Display and Settings

Display Loc

Each time the Power button is pressed, the distance is displayed on screen for 15 seconds before the screen automatically switches off.

Unit Measurement Change

The PINLOC 6000iM can measure distances in metres or yards. Press the Mode button for 5 seconds to change the unit of measurement. You can also toggle the decimal point display by pressing the Mode button for 3 seconds.

Automatic Power-Save

The PINLOC 6000iM will automatically switch off after 15 seconds of inactivity.

Battery Indicator

A battery level warning will appear when the battery is running low. The battery can be replaced by removing the battery door (refer to page 2). Any brand of CR2 3V lithium battery can be used.

Accuracy

The PINLOC 6000iM delivers accuracy at ±1 metre/yard. Range is dependent on target reflectivity, color, surface, shape, size, and angle. For example, red is highly reflective, providing longer range than black. Shiny surfaces offer more range than dull ones, and smaller targets are harder to range than larger ones. A 90° angle provides good range, while steep angles limit it. Lighting, rain, and fog can also affect accuracy; less light reduces the unit's maximum range.

Registration and Care

Registering Your Laser

Follow instructions at www.mgigolf.com/register-sureshot and enter the serial code found on the box/unit (starts with 5I, e.g., 5I12345). Registering for warranty purposes helps the Sureshot customer service team document your equipment and aids in warranty claims. It also helps if your unit is lost and found.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Gently blow away dust or debris from the lenses or use the provided lens cloth. For dirt or fingerprints, rub in a circular motion. Avoid coarse cloths or excessive rubbing, which can scratch the lens surface. For thorough cleaning, use photographic lens tissue and photographic-type lens cleaning fluid or isopropyl alcohol. Always apply fluid to the cleaning cloth, never directly onto the lens. For protection, always store your PINLOC 6000iM in the provided pouch.

Disclaimer

WARNING: This device contains a magnet. Magnets could affect the functioning of pacemakers and implanted heart defibrillators. Keep sufficient distance if you use these devices. Warn others who wear these devices from getting too close to magnets.

CAUTION: Avoid direct sunlight into the eyepiece to prevent damage to the display/internal components. When using the internal magnet to attach the device to a cart bar or frame, tilt the device so the eyepiece faces the ground, not upwards towards the sun. Store the device in its case when not in use for additional protection.
