Getting Started with Your GARDENA Robotic Lawn Mower
1. Base Station Installation
Refer to sections 3.3.1 and 3.4.1 of the included user manual or visit GARDENA's website (www.gardena.com).
- Place the base station on a level surface in an open area.
- Connect the low voltage cable to the base station and the power adapter.
- Connect the power adapter to a 100-240 volt power outlet ?.
- Start the device by pressing the ON/OFF power button ?. Place the mower on the base station so the battery can charge while the boundary wire is being installed.
NOTE: Do not set any device settings until installation is complete (steps 1-4).

2. Boundary Wire Installation
Refer to section 3.3.3 of the included user manual or visit GARDENA's website (www.gardena.com).
- Install the boundary wire so that it forms a perimeter around the work area.
- Create a loop in the boundary wire at the point where the guide wire will be connected.

3. Boundary Wire Connection
Refer to section 3.4.2 of the included user manual or visit GARDENA's website (www.gardena.com).
- Open the connector and insert the boundary wire.
- Squeeze the connector and wire together with pliers ?️.
- Cut the wire 1-2 cm after the connectors.
- Press the boundary wire connectors into the base station's contact pins, marked L on the left and R on the right.
NOTE! The right wire must be connected to the right contact on the base station, and the left wire to the left contact.

4. Guide Wire Installation and Connection
Refer to sections 3.3.4 and 3.4.3 of the included user manual or visit GARDENA's website (www.gardena.com).
- Attach the guide wire to the spring clips on the bottom of the base station.
- Fit the connector to the guide wire in the same way as described for the boundary wire.
- Press the guide wire connector into the base station contact pin marked "Guide".
- Pull the guide wire out straight from the front edge of the base station for at least 1 m / 3.3 ft.
- Route the guide wire from the base station to the boundary wire loop where the connection will be made.
NOTE! Do not install the guide wire at a sharp angle.
- Cut the boundary wire in the middle of the loop made in step 2.2.
- Connect the guide wire to the boundary wire by inserting the boundary wires and the guide wire into the connector and squeezing the connector together with pliers ?️.

5. Starting and Stopping the Device
Refer to sections 4.2 and 4.4 of the included user manual or visit GARDENA's website (www.gardena.com).
Starting the Device:
- Open the keypad cover.
- Press the power button ?. The display ?️ will light up.
NOTE! The first time you start the device, a setup sequence will begin, including selecting a four-digit PIN code.
- Select the PIN code using the up ⬆️ and down ⬇️ arrow keys and press the OK ✔️ button.
Stopping the Device:
- Press the STOP ? button.

6. Changing Device Settings
Refer to section 3.10 of the included user manual or visit GARDENA's website (www.gardena.com).
All device settings are configured via the menu functions. Read the user manual and familiarize yourself with the menus and settings.
Adjusting Settings Based on Lawn Size
Adjust the cutting time to suit your garden using the timer function. If the device is allowed to cut too often, the lawn may appear trampled.
Scheduling
Use the guided scheduling to set a schedule appropriate for your lawn size. Use the Timer > Advanced Settings menu to customize individual day schedules.
Testing the Device in Narrow Passages
Due to narrow passages in the garden, it can be difficult for the mower to find its way back to the base station. Use the Test function to check if the device can navigate through a narrow passage.
- Place the device on the base station.
- In the menu, select Settings > Area Coverage > Add > Test, and press OK ✔️. Then press the start button ▶️ and close the cover.
- Check that the device follows the guide wire through the narrow passage.
- a. If the device passes through the passage, the test is complete.
- b. If the device cannot navigate the passage: Check that the guide wire is installed according to the instructions in section 3.3.4 of the user manual.
