Warranty WHAT IS COVERED The manufacturer warrants this lighting fixture to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from date of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original consumer purchaser and only to products used in normal use and service. If this product is found to be defective, the manufacturer's only obligation, and your exclusive remedy, is the repair or replacement of the product at the manufacturer's discretion, provided that the product has not been damaged through misuse, abuse, accident, modifications, alterations, neglect, or mishandling. WHAT IS NOT COVERED This warranty shall not apply to any product that is found to have been improperly installed, set-up, or used in any way not in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product. Compare parts with the package contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install or operate the product. Contact customer service for replacement parts. NOTE: Keep your receipt and these instructions for proof of purchase. If you are unfamiliar with electrical installations, we recommend you contact a qualified electrician to do the installation. Installation WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. Ensure the electricity to the wires you are working on is shut off. Either remove the fuse or turn off the circuit breaker before removing the existing light fixture or installing the new one. Select a suitable location that can support the weight of the fixture. Determine the method for mounting the fixture before drilling, based on the type of ceiling. 1 Installing the mounting plate Select the mounting holes according to the size of the J-box. Mount the mounting plate (AA) to the J-box using the two mounting screws (BB). Pass the electrical wires from the J-box through the middle hole of the mounting plate (AA). J-box AA BB 2 Connecting the electrical wires Hang the hanging cable on the lamp to the E place of the mounting plate (AA). Insert the hot and neutral (black and white) wires from the electrical box into the quick connectors of the same color wires from the fixture body (A). wrap the bare copper wire from the fixture body (A) around the ground screw on the mounting plate (AA). Insert the ground wire from the electrical box into the quick connector. Position the wires back inside the electrical box. Align and protrude through the mounting plate screws to the appropriate holes on the fixture body (A). Fix the fixture body (A) to the mounting plate (AA) using the lock nuts (CC). NOTE: Incandescent bulbs do not exceed 60 watts type A each. LED bulbs do not exceed 10 watts type A each. Bulb (not included) Selecting Main Light or Nightlight Mode The product can be used in one of two modes: Main light mode, or nightlight mode. Nighlight mode provides light output at 2200K color temperature for very soft illumination at night. To turn on the main light: Turn on the wall switch to activate the light fixture. To change to nightlight mode with reduced light output: Switch the main light off and back on again within 3 seconds to active nightlight mode. NOTICE: The main light will not provide light output when the nightlight trim is illuminated. To return to the main light with full light output when in nightlight mode: Toggle the switch off and back on to active 6 Care and Cleaning CAUTION: Before attempting to clean the fixture, disconnect the power to the fixture by turning the breaker off or removing the fuse from the fuse box. Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use cleaners with chemicals, solvents, or harsh abrasives. Do not use liquid cleaner on the LEDs, LED driver, or wiring. Troubleshooting WARNING: Before doing any work on the fixture, disconnect power to the light fixture. Minor problems often can be fixed without the help of an electrician. Problem Possible Cause Solution The fixture will not light. The power is off. The circuit breaker is off. There is a bad connection. Ensure the power supply is on. Ensure the circuit breaker is in the on position. Check to ensure proper wire connections are made. Contact a qualified electrician. The fuse blows or the circuit breaker trips when the light is turned on. The light fixture flickers or makes a buzzing sound. Out of sync There is a defective switch. Contact a qualified electrician. Check the wire connections. The wires are crossed or the power Contact a qualified electrician or call wire is grounding out. Hampton Bay customer service 1-855-HD-HAMPTON. The dimmer circuit is not compatible with the product. The dimming circuit is set outside the dimming range of the product. Check the product page at www.HAMPTONBAY.COM for a list of compatible dimmers. Turn or slide the dimmer switch to adjust the light output until the flickering or buzzing stops. Slide the dimmer too fast. The dimmer circuit is not compatible with the product. Turn off the wall switch for more than 3 seconds, then turn back on.
