Ring Spotlight Cam Plus | Plug-In Setup Guide

Quick Start

Follow these steps to set up your Ring Spotlight Cam Plus Plug-In.

1. Download and open the Ring app.

Select 'Set Up a Device'.

2. Scan QR code with Ring app.

Use the QR code provided on your device or in the app to continue setup.

Hardware Included

• Security screw for metal collar
• Mounting screws
• Wall anchors
• Cable clips
• Cable clip screws

Tools Needed

• Phillips-head screwdriver
• Drill (optional)

Preparation

• Remove the protective film from the device to ensure proper function.

Optimal Motion Detection

Mount the camera approximately 3 feet (1 meter) from the center of the entry point and about 10 feet (3 meters) above the ground.

Mounting Options

Wall Installation:

Your camera comes with the ball joint pointing down. No adjustments are needed before installation.

Eave or Overhang Installation:

Remove the battery compartment cover by twisting it counterclockwise. Insert the ball joint plate with the ball joint pointing up.

Power Source

Choose a location close to an electrical outlet. Ensure the camera is positioned within reach of the included power cable.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Remove the mounting plate.

Slide the mounting plate down to detach it from the camera mount.

Step 2: Install the mounting plate.

• For wall installation, ensure the 'UP' arrow points upwards.
• For eave or overhang installation, orient the arrow towards the area you wish to monitor for motion.
• Wood Surface: Screw the plate directly into the wall.
• Masonry Surface: Mark screw holes using the plate as a guide. Drill pilot holes (1/4" drill bit recommended). Insert wall anchors. Secure the mounting plate with four mounting screws into the anchors.

WARNING: Only use the included mounting screws when securing the mounting plate.

CAUTION: DO NOT drill into your home's electrical wiring.

Step 3: Attach the camera mount.

Slide the camera mount onto the mounting plate and tighten the security screw.

Step 4: Plug the power adapter into your camera.

Insert the USB-C end of the power adapter into the back of the camera.

Step 5: Attach your camera to the camera mount.

Loosen the metal collar on the camera mount using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Push the ball joint into the socket until it clicks into place.

Step 6: Turn on your camera.

Plug the power adapter into a power outlet.

Step 7: Adjust the camera angle.

Rotate the camera to focus on your desired area. Use the Live View feature in the Ring app to confirm the angle.

Step 8: Tighten the security screws.

Tighten the security screw on the metal collar to fix the camera's position. Then, tighten the security screw on the bottom of the camera to secure the battery compartment.

Step 9: Secure the power cable.

Use the provided cable clips to fasten the cable along your wall. For masonry surfaces, pre-drill holes with a 1/4" drill bit and insert anchors before securing the cable clips.

Tip: The power cable can be painted to match your wall color.

Step 10: Secure the adapter.

Fasten the power adapter to the wall using the included mounting screws.
