1. Remote Control
1.1 Remote Control Overview
The remote control provides access to all TV functions. Two types of remotes (Type-A and Type-B) may be included depending on your region.
Key Buttons:
- Power: Turns the TV on or off.
- Tools / Game Interface: Accesses various tools and the game interface.
- Program Keyboard: Displays an on-screen keyboard.
- Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube: Direct access buttons for streaming services.
- Favorite App 1 & 2: Customizable buttons for quick app launching.
- Google Assistant: Activates Google Assistant for voice commands.
- Control Panel: Accesses the main settings menu.
- Navigation (Cursor & OK): Navigate menus and select options.
- Back: Returns to the previous screen.
- HOME: Returns to the main home screen.
- Direct Broadcast: Accesses live TV.
- Volume Up/Down: Adjusts audio volume.
- Mute: Silences the audio.
- Input Select: Changes the video input source.
- Channel Up/Down: Changes TV channels.
- Color Keys: Functionality varies by menu.
- Information: Displays information about the current content.
- Digital Keys: For direct channel input or menu navigation.
- Audio Multi-Output / Audio Description: Selects audio tracks or enables audio descriptions.
- Watchlist: Accesses saved content.

Remote Indicators:
- A. Indicator: Shows charging status (Red for charging, Green for fully charged) and BT pairing status (Blinking Green).
- B. Microphone: Used for voice commands.
- C. Solar Panel: Charges the remote using ambient light (Type-A).
- D. USB Type-C Port: For charging the remote control.
Notes:
- Type-A remote charges via ambient light; avoid direct sunlight. Type-B requires AAA batteries.
- You can register favorite apps for quick access.
- Press the Google Assistant button and speak into the microphone.
1.2 Program Keyboard
The Type-A remote control features a program keyboard that can be opened and closed using the dedicated key. This keyboard provides on-screen access to numbers, symbols, and navigation keys.
1.3 Favorite App Keys
You can assign frequently used applications to the 'Favorite App' buttons for quick access. A long press registers an app, while a short press launches it.
2. TV Operation
2.1 Switches, Indicators, and Sensors
Hands-free Voice Control (HU/HN/HL Series):
Your TV is equipped with a built-in microphone for Google Assistant. To enable this feature, switch the microphone to 'On'. The microphone indicator will light up when active.
- Microphone Status: Off (Orange light), On (Active - White light), Voice Recognition (White blinking).
Power Button:
The power button on the TV can be used to access a menu if the remote control is unavailable. Press and hold for more than 1.5 seconds to turn off the TV.
TV Series Indicators:
- HU/HN/HL Series: Features a microphone, microphone indicator, and remote receiver/OPC sensor.
- HJ Series: Includes a power switch, microphone switch, standby indicator, and remote receiver.
3. General Settings
Configure general TV parameters through the 'Control Panel' and 'All Settings' menus.
3.1 Channels and Inputs
Channels: Adjust TV channel settings. If broadcasts are not displayed correctly or reception is poor, you may need to reset TV settings and select the correct region. Refer to page RU-8 for reset instructions.
Inputs: Manage input sources. Options include PIN Code Lock, changing input names, setting standby time without signal, and HDMI EDID version. CEC General Control allows control of connected devices.
3.2 Picture and Sound
Picture: Adjust picture settings independently for each input. Settings include Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Tint, Sharpness, and Advanced Settings. Refer to page RU-11 for details.
Screen: Change video display format. Options may vary by video content.
Sound: Adjust sound settings independently for each input. Refer to page RU-14 for details.
Audio Output: Configure speaker and optical digital output. Refer to page RU-16 for details.
Karaoke (HU/HN Series): Mute vocals in videos for karaoke. Requires a USB or Bluetooth microphone. Note: Karaoke only works with specific inputs (HDMI 1-4, YouTube, Multi-Media Player).
3.3 Network and Internet
Configure Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections.
3.4 Account and Profile
Manage Google and other account settings.
3.5 Privacy
Adjust privacy settings.
3.6 Applications
Configure settings for installed applications.
3.7 System
Configure system settings, including Sleep Mode and Power/Energy Saving options.
3.8 Device Timer Settings
Set timers for automatic TV power off. Options include 'When Idle', 'While Watching', 'From Now', and 'After Power On'.
3.9 Power-On State
Configure the screen displayed upon powering on the TV.
3.10 Scheduled Power On/Off
Set daily scheduled times for the TV to turn on and off.
3.11 Standby Indicator
Enable or disable the standby indicator light.
3.12 About Device
Check system status and perform system updates via the internet.
3.13 Device Name
Change the name of your TV, which is displayed when connecting to other devices.
3.14 Reset
Reset the TV to factory default settings. This will delete personal information and require re-setup. To change the country of use, a reset is necessary.
3.15 Date and Time
Set the date and time, either automatically via internet connection or manually.
3.16 Language
Select the menu language.
3.17 Accessibility
Adjust settings for visibility and hearing.
3.18 Remote Controls and Accessories
Connect accessories like Bluetooth game controllers and headphones.
3.19 Restart
Restart the TV.
4. Broadcast Settings
4.1 Broadcast Configuration
Configure broadcast parameters by selecting 'Broadcast' and then pressing the 'Tools' key. The displayed menus may vary by region and broadcast content.
4.2 Broadcast Options
- TV Guide: View the electronic program guide.
- Channels / Channel Scan: Rescan for channels and optimize reception.
- Channel Management / Channel Editing: Rename and reorder channels.

- Screen: Adjust video display format.

- Parental Controls: Restrict content by age.
- Manual Software Update / Wireless Software Update: Update TV software.
- Subtitles: Configure subtitle display.
- Audio / Audio Description / Audio for People with Hearing Impairments: Select audio tracks and configure audio descriptions.
- Teletext: Configure Teletext settings.
- Auto Power Off on Signal Loss: The screen turns blue if no broadcast is received.
- Auto Power Off on No Signal: The TV automatically turns off if no broadcast is received.
- Default Channel: Set the channel that appears upon TV power-on.
- Region EWBS: Configure emergency broadcast settings (Philippines only).
- Postal Code: Enter your postal code (Indonesia only).
5. Picture Settings
5.1 Picture Configuration
Adjust video settings for the selected input. Access via 'Control Panel' > 'All Settings' > 'Picture and Sound' > 'Picture', or 'Tools' > 'Picture'. Settings are saved per input (e.g., HDMI1, HDMI2).
5.2 Picture Modes
Select a picture mode. Available modes may vary by content.
5.3 Picture Enhancements
- OPC (HU/HN/HL Series): Ambient light sensor adjusts TV brightness.

Fine-tune video settings for the selected input. Access via 'Control Panel' > 'All Settings' > 'Picture and Sound' > 'Picture' > 'Advanced Settings', or 'Tools' > 'Picture' > 'Advanced Settings'.
6.2 Picture Parameters
- Color Temperature: Sets the color temperature.
- Dolby Vision Notification: Alerts for Dolby Vision signal reception.
- Detail Enhancement: Improves detail in dark areas with Dolby Vision.
- HDR: Enables/disables High Dynamic Range.
- DNR: Reduces image noise.
- MPEG Noise Reduction: Reduces compression artifacts.

9.1 SHARP Exclusive Applications
Explore pre-installed SHARP applications and download more from the internet.
- Azan - Prayer time: Provides accurate prayer times for Muslims. (Available in Indonesia and Malaysia only).
- SHARP COCORO VISION: Offers entertainment, lifestyle information, and an app platform. (Available in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand only).
- SHARP SELECT: Recommends applications compatible with AQUOS TVs.
9.2 Multi-Media Player
Connect a USB drive to view images, listen to music, and watch videos. Supports various file formats. Refer to the compatibility table for details.
9.3 SHARP Living Camera
A fun application for the whole family to take and decorate photos. It also allows simultaneous viewing of YouTube videos and camera feeds for activities like yoga or dance.
- Video App: Record videos, set self-timers, and save recordings.
- Album: View and delete saved photos and videos.
- Camera: Take photos, set self-timers, and decorate images with frames and stickers.
- Mirror: Displays camera feed mirrored for checking appearance.
- Settings: Configure app settings like resolution and storage destination.
Saving to USB Storage: Photos and videos are saved to 'AQUOScam' folder on USB drive. Ensure USB storage is connected for stable saving.
9.4 SHARP AI Karaoke
Enhance your karaoke experience with AI features. Adjust vocal volume, microphone input, and sound effects. AI Karaoke works with YouTube, Multi-media Player, and HDMI inputs 1-4. Requires a special microphone and uses TV's built-in speakers.
10. Google Assistant / Hands-free Voice Control
10.1 Google Assistant
Control your TV and access content using voice commands with Google Assistant. Press the Google Assistant button on the remote to start. Configure settings via 'All Settings' > 'Account and Profile' > (Your Account) > 'Google Assistant'. Google Assistant availability may vary by language and country. 10.2 Hands-free Voice Control (HU/HN/HL Series)
Use voice commands without the remote. Say "Hey, Google" to activate. Configure settings via 'All Settings' > 'Account and Profile' > (Your Account) > 'Google Assistant' > 'Hands-free Mic'. Ensure the microphone switch is 'On' (see page RU-4). Supported countries and languages are listed on page RU-24.
11. Game Interface (HU/HN Series)
Press and hold the 'Tools' key to access the Game Interface. View real-time frame rates and toggle VRR and ALLM. HDMI3/HDMI4 support up to 120Hz (144Hz), while HDMI1/HDMI2 support 60Hz.
12. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions for common TV issues.
12.1 Power Issues
- No Power: Check power cord connection and ensure the TV is powered on.
- Power Light On, TV Off: Check 'Standby Indicator' settings.
- Power Turns On Automatically: Verify 'Scheduled Power On/Off' settings.
12.2 Display Issues
- Device Not Responding: Try unplugging the TV for 1-2 minutes. Check for external interference.
- Remote Control Not Working: Ensure it's charged (USB Type-C for Type-A) or batteries are new (Type-B). Remove any protective film from the USB port. Check for bright lighting or nearby fluorescent lamps affecting sensors.
- Cropped Screen/Black Bars: Adjust screen size settings.
- Unnatural Colors: Adjust color tone. Ensure adequate room lighting.
- No Image: Verify device connections. For PC input, set PC output to external monitor. Use HDMI for HD content. Check if the broadcast quality is actually HD.
- Poor HD Quality: Ensure HDMI connection. Check broadcast source and settings.
- Crackling Sound: This is normal thermal expansion/contraction and not a malfunction. Do not attempt self-repair.
12.3 Connectivity and Application Issues
- No Sound: Check device connections, volume levels, and mute status. Verify audio output settings for external devices and HDMI connections. Ensure compatible audio formats (PCM, Dolby Digital).
- Chromecast Built-in Issues: Ensure smartphone/tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Software Update Failed: Check internet connection stability. Reconnect to the internet if necessary.
- Apps/Services Not Working: Verify internet connection. Ensure date and time settings are correct.
- No Voice Input: Check if Karaoke is enabled (disable it). Ensure Hands-free microphone is enabled and the switch is 'On'.
12.4 Supported Countries and Languages for Hands-free Voice Control
Hands-free voice control availability varies by country and language. Refer to the table for supported languages.
12.5 AV IN Connection
Connect audio and video sources using RCA cables. Ensure correct connection to Video, Audio L, and Audio R terminals.
