Laser Warning: CLASS 2M LASER PRODUCT. Diode Laser. Max. Output <1 mW. Wavelengths 400-700 nm. Avoid direct eye exposure. Do not stare into beam or view directly with optical instruments.

Power Supply Note: Please ONLY use manufacturer-provided power supply.

Notice

CAUTION: Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

This laser product is certified as a CLASS 2M laser product and adheres to the requirements of the US Federal Laser Product Performance Standard (FLPPS) contained in the regulations in 21 CFR Subchapter J.

Avoid direct viewing of CLASS 2M laser energy as it can be hazardous. This product uses diffractive optics to scatter the beam energy, causing the energy concentration to drop below exposure limits for momentary or accidental viewing at short distances. When operating in unsupervised public areas, it is recommended that up-close access be restricted or prevented.

This laser display device incorporates a CLASS 3B laser system, which may be hazardous by itself. However, it includes a protective housing and diffractive holographic optics designed to prevent exposure or human access to laser radiation above CLASS 2M limits. Each individual laser beamlet's power is under 1mW.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES shall attempts be made to open the protective housing or operate the device if the aperture window is damaged. All service requiring the protective housing to be opened or removed must be performed by BlissLights service personnel or authorized agents. Opening the housing voids the warranty.

Airport Safety: NO LASERS SHOULD BE POINTED INTO THE SKY WITHIN 10 NAUTICAL MILES OF AN AIRPORT. If located within this perimeter, point lasers down at the ground to avoid projecting stray beams into the air. Check local airport or county guidelines for further information.

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the BlissLights laser projector. This is a unique indoor/outdoor light fixture that uses a mixture of LED lighting with new laser and holographic technology to project thousands of pin-points of light. It can create a "fireflies" dance effect in gardens, a mesmerizing ambience indoors, or add allure to holiday displays.

The patented laser technology provides up to 50 x 50' (15.2 x 15.2m) of coverage, and the LED light provides up to 15 x 15' (4.6 x 4.6m) of coverage. It has a maximum electrical usage of 5-8 W, making it energy efficient. The fixture housing is weather-resistant ABS resin for year-round indoor or outdoor operation.

Before You Begin

Upon receiving the fixture, carefully unpack and check the carton contents for all parts and good condition. Notify the shipper immediately and retain packing material for inspection if any parts appear damaged or the carton shows mishandling. Save the carton and packing materials. If the fixture must be returned to the factory, it must be returned in the original factory box.

  • 1 x Ground Stake

Setting Up the Laser Projector

Before operating, please read the "Before You Begin" and "Notice" sections.

  1. Connect the light fixture to the provided UL/CUL power supply and screw on the attached water seal cap.
  2. Connect the power supply into a standard electrical outlet.
  3. Attach the stake or stand to the fixture head by twisting clockwise. Remove by twisting counter-clockwise.
  4. If using the stake, push it gently into the ground by holding the top of the stake. Do not push the fixture by pressing down on the lamp head.
  5. Adjust the angle of the projected light using the thumbscrew on the side of the fixture.
  6. Use the included remote control to change light output settings (refer to page 4).
  7. To turn off the light, use the remote or unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

Operating the Laser Projector

Once plugged in, the projector enters default mode: laser and LED on, with an automatic 6-hour on / 18-hour off timer. Use the remote control to change settings.

Operating the Timer

The light has a built-in timer that automatically shuts off after 6 hours, then goes into sleep mode for 18 hours before repeating. The timer activates when the light is plugged in.

  • To disable the timer: Press the timer button on the remote. The laser will blink twice to signal the timer is off.
  • To re-enable the timer: Press the timer button again. The laser will blink three times to signal the timer is on.

Operating the Remote Control

Use the infrared remote control to operate the light's features. The signal requires a clear line of sight to the fixture's receiver. The remote operates up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) away.

Remote FCC Compliance: This device complies with Part 15 of FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: 1. It may not cause harmful interference. 2. It must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Precautionary Tips for the Remote Control

  • Keep the remote control dry and away from heat sources. Avoid humidity. If erratic response occurs, check the battery.
  • Do not subject the remote control to undue physical stress, such as striking or dropping.
  • Do not clean with volatile solvents. Wipe with a clean, damp, soft cloth.

Precautionary Tips for Battery Installation

  • Do not ingest batteries.
  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
  • Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
  • Remove exhausted batteries.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries; use only new batteries of the same type.
  • Do not mix battery chemistries (e.g., Alkaline, carbon zinc, NiCad, NiMH).
  • Only use AAA batteries.
  • Incorrect polarity may shorten battery life or cause leaks.
  • Do not disassemble, heat, or throw batteries into fire.
  • Keep batteries away from children and pets.
  • When not in use for extended periods, remove and store batteries in a cool, dry place at room temperature.

Battery Disposal

Dispose of batteries at a suitable recycling point. Follow state/provincial and local guidelines for recycling or disposal.

Installation Tips

  • Do not connect the light to a dimmer pack, as it may damage the laser component.
  • Use only the manufacturer-provided UL/CUL power supply.
  • Limit the use of extension cords. If needed, use only UL, CUL, or CSA approved 3rd party extension cords. For outdoor use, ONLY use weather-resistant (waterproof) cords.
  • The darker the display area, the brighter the projection. Avoid areas with strong ambient light sources like commercial street lights or security flood lights.
  • For downlighting (e.g., from balcony railing, fence line, roof line), it is recommended for safety to mount lights using a suitable hanging clamp and safety cable.

Troubleshooting

How to avoid IR interference:

If the laser or LED start and stop randomly, it may be due to wireless signal interference (e.g., from radio control toys, TV remote controls, automatic vacuums). To verify, try covering the window at the bottom of the front lens with your finger to block stray infrared signals. If this resolves the problem, check other electronic products in the room to identify the source of interference.

Note: The laser aperture is located on the front of the fixture.
