Warning Notice System
This manual contains notices to ensure personal safety and prevent property damage. Notices for personal safety are highlighted with a safety alert symbol. Notices for property damage only do not have a safety alert symbol. Notices are graded by degree of danger:
- DANGER: Indicates that death or severe personal injury will result if proper precautions are not taken.
- WARNING: Indicates that death or severe personal injury may result if proper precautions are not taken.
- CAUTION: Indicates that minor personal injury can result if proper precautions are not taken.
- NOTICE: Indicates that property damage can result if proper precautions are not taken.
If multiple danger degrees are present, the notice with the highest degree will be used. A notice for personal injury with a safety alert symbol may also include a warning for property damage.

1 Configuring WinCC Unified Runtime as a System for SIMATIC Unified AR
Integrating WinCC Runtime as a system in Unified AR allows retrieval and display of real-time information about machine and plant states using AR technology. To achieve this, the WinCC Unified Runtime PC is configured for display in the Unified AR app, showing screens within individual compositions.
1.1 Prerequisites
Please note the following prerequisites.
1.1.1 WinCC Unified
Notice: System requirements. SIMATIC HMI WinCC Unified supports integration in SIMATIC Unified AR starting from V18.2.
Ensure the following preparations are made:
- A user with a password is set up in the TIA Portal and transferred to a Unified Runtime. A local UMC (user management component) is set up and linked to WinCC Unified.
- You have created and configured a Unified Runtime PC device (PC Systems / HMI Application / SIMATIC WinCC Unified Runtime) in the TIA Portal.
- For this device, one or more users are configured and transferred to the Unified Runtime via "Security Settings / Users & Roles".
- Users in the TIA Portal are linked to the corresponding WinCC Unified role (e.g., Admin, Operator, or Monitor) and transferred to the Unified Runtime.
- The project is loaded onto the device and is active in Runtime. Refer to the compiling and loading documentation for more information.
Notice: Additional Documentation. Refer to the official documentation for WinCC Unified Runtime (Entry ID: 109954244).

1.1.2 Unified AR
You have installed SIMATIC Unified AR for iOS on your mobile device.
Notice: Unified AR application manual. Please note the complete SIMATIC Unified AR application manual (Entry-ID: 109820771).
1.2 Procedure
- Connect a barcode and create a composition. When creating the composition, you have the following options:
- Option 1: Enable the "Allow New" switch. When scanning the barcode, an "Add Composition" tile appears. Tap the tile to automatically create a new composition. Give the composition a name.
- Option 2: Create a new composition using the "plus" symbol [+] and assign a name. By entering any barcode payload, a barcode will be automatically generated and linked to the composition.
- Scroll down and select "Add Screen". You will be taken to the Screen Details.
- In the Screen Details, select "Choose System" at the top. Choose "Add System". Alternatively, you can select an already linked system.
- In the system settings, select a system of type "WinCC Unified RT".
- Enter the host or IP address, or the URL of the running WinCC Unified Runtime.
- Proceed with entering the credentials (username and password) of the WinCC Unified Runtime.
- Click on "Test Connection". A certificate viewer will appear. Decide whether to trust the certificate.
- After connecting a Unified RT system, you can now enter the screen name and define additional settings.
- In the Screen Details, define further settings for your screen, such as height, width, or position.
You have connected a WinCC Unified Runtime project with a screen from your composition in the SIMATIC Unified AR app.
