Product Overview

The NickWatch is a kid's 4G watch equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS tracking, a camera, and an emergency button.

Key Components:

  1. Camera: For taking photos.
  2. Display screen & touch panel: The main interface for interaction.
  3. Button:
    • Press once for back button.
    • Long press for turn on/off.
    • Very long press to activate SOS.
  4. Speaker: For audio output.
  5. Microphone: For voice input.
  6. Charging port: For connecting the charging cable or station.
  7. Strap holsters: Points for attaching the watch straps.

Getting Started: Setup and Charging

App Installation

Download the free Nickwatch app from Google Play or the App Store. You can also scan a QR code (if provided) to go directly to the app store listing.

Create Your Account

  1. Launch the mobile app and tap "Create Account".
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts, entering a valid email address.
  3. Verify your email address on your phone.
  4. Accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  5. Tap "Add Watch".
  6. Scan the QR code displayed on the watch screen using your phone's camera.
  7. If purchased via nickwatch.com, enter the subscription activation code sent to you.
  8. Enter your child's information.

Charging the Watch

Charge your NickWatch using either the Connect-o Cable or the Power Station.

Connect the USB end of the cable to a power source (not included). Ensure the charging contacts on the back of the watch align with the port on the charging dock. Remove the watch once fully charged.

Splash Resistance

The NickWatch is rated IP68 for dust and splash resistance. This means it can withstand dust and brief immersion in water. However, it is not designed for swimming, diving, or prolonged submersion. Do not wear the watch during showering or bathing. Take care to avoid exposure to moisture from rain, hand washing, or perspiration.

Safety and Warranty Information

Read the Safety Information section of this user guide before using this device. Failure to comply with safety warnings can result in serious injury.

General Safety Precautions:

  • ⚠️ Do not use while driving. Pay attention to traffic.
  • ⚠️ Do not use at gas stations. Your device may produce a bright or flashing light.
  • ⚠️ Do not dispose of your device in fire.
  • ? Your device can produce a loud sound. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods. Exercise caution when holding the device near your ear.
  • ? Avoid contact with anything magnetic.
  • ?️ Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • ? Keep away from pacemakers and other electronic medical devices.
  • ? Avoid contact with liquids. Keep your device dry.
  • ? Turn off when asked to in hospitals and medical facilities.
  • Do not take your device apart.
  • ✈️ Turn off when told to in aircraft and airports.
  • ✔️ Only use approved accessories.
  • ? Turn off when near explosive materials or liquids.

RF Exposure Information:

This watch contains a radio transmitter and receiver. When ON, it receives and transmits RF energy. The system controls the power level for communication.

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR):

The watch is designed not to exceed international guidelines for radio wave exposure. The SAR limit is 2W/kg. The highest SAR values recorded for this device are:

Tests are conducted according to EN 50663:2017. Actual SAR is typically lower due to automatic power adjustments.

Limiting Exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) Fields:

The World Health Organisation (WHO) advises that current scientific information does not indicate a need for special precautions. If concerned, limit call length or use hands-free devices to keep the device away from the head and body.

Product Handling:

  • You are responsible for how you use your device.
  • Always switch off your device where its use is prohibited.
  • The device has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, but is not for swimming, diving, or prolonged submersion.
  • Do not charge the watch while wet.
  • Handle the device and accessories with care, keep them clean and dust-free.
  • Do not expose to open flames, lit tobacco products, liquids, moisture, or high humidity.
  • Do not drop, throw, or try to bend the device or accessories.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or aerosols.
  • Do not paint the device or accessories.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble; only authorized personnel should service.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures (-20°C to +40°C). Low temperatures may reduce display/battery function; full function returns at room temperature. Do not leave in a car where temperatures can exceed this range.
  • Check local regulations for electronic product disposal.
  • Do not carry in a back pocket where it could break when sitting.

Small Children:

Keep the device and accessories out of reach of children under 3 years old. Small parts may detach, posing a choking hazard or causing injury.

Power Supply & Electrical Safety:

  • Do not connect to power or switch on until instructed.
  • Use only approved accessories and chargers. Do not connect incompatible products.
  • Avoid short-circuiting battery terminals, charger, or charging points with metal objects (e.g., coins, keys).
  • Do not touch the charger or power cord with wet hands to avoid electric shock or electrocution.

Demagnetisation:

Keep electronic devices or magnetic media away from the device to avoid demagnetisation. Magnetic sources can cause sensors to malfunction.

Glass Display:

The screen is made of glass. Handle with care to avoid damage from severe impact. If damaged, be careful of broken glass. Cease use and contact customer service if the screen is damaged.

Faulty and Damaged Products:

Do not attempt to disassemble. Only qualified personnel should service. If the device has been submerged, punctured, or dropped severely, have it checked at an authorized service center before use.

Battery Handling and Safety:

The battery is not user-removable. Do not attempt to remove it. Use only the supplied or manufacturer-approved chargers. Improper use can lead to fire, explosion, or other hazards. If the battery appears damaged, do not use or recharge; take it to an authorized service center.

Interference:

Use caution near personal medical devices like pacemakers and hearing aids.

  • Pacemakers: Maintain at least 15 cm separation between the device and a pacemaker.
  • Hearing Aids: Users may experience interference noises. Increasing separation may reduce interference. Consult your hearing aid manufacturer for alternatives.
  • Medical Devices: Consult your doctor and the device manufacturer to ensure no interference with medical devices.

Hospitals & Aircraft:

  • Hospitals: Switch off your device when requested to prevent interference with medical equipment.
  • Aircraft: Switch off your device as instructed by airline staff. Enable 'flight mode' if available before boarding.

Explosive Environments:

In potentially explosive atmospheres (e.g., fueling areas, chemical storage), obey signs to turn off wireless devices.

Blasting Caps and Areas:

Turn off your device in blasting areas or areas where electronic devices are prohibited to avoid interfering with operations.

Disposal and Recycling:

This symbol ♻️ on your device, battery, or accessories means they must be taken to designated collection points (municipal waste disposal centers or points of sale) at the end of their life for recycling.

  1. Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to instructions.
  2. EUT Operating temperature range: 0° C to 35° C.
  3. The device complies with RF specifications when used at 5mm from the body.
  4. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.
