Safety Instructions
Read these instructions thoroughly before using the appliance. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users. Ensure that the mains voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating label of the appliance and that the outlet is grounded. Do not leave the iron unattended while hot, connected, or on an ironing board. Place the appliance on a flat, stable, and dry surface. Do not operate the appliance if it has dropped, if it shows visible signs of damage, or if it leaks. Do not pull the cord to disconnect or move the device; use the plug instead. Do not twist, bend, strain, or damage the power cord in any way. Protect it from sharp edges and heat sources. Do not let it touch hot surfaces. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or countertop. Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any non-removable part of the appliance in water or any other liquid, nor expose the electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance. Check the power cord regularly for visible damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec to avoid any danger. Avoid contact with the steam generated by the iron; the steam temperature is very high and could cause burns and damage. Do not use chemically descaled water; it is suggested to use distilled water. The plug must be removed from the power supply before the water tank is filled. Always unplug the steam iron from the power supply when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use. The appliance is not intended to be used by children under the age of 8. It can be used by children over the age of 8, as long as they are given continuous supervision. 3. Operation
Filling the water tank
Note: This appliance is designed for use with normal tap water. Do not use additives. Adding other liquids such as perfume, vinegar, starch, condensation water from tumble dryers or air conditioning systems, or chemicals will damage the appliance.
- Unplug the iron from the power supply.
- Open the water inlet cover.
- Set the steam regulator to the desired position.
- Fill the water tank. Do not exceed the MAX. mark.
- Close the water inlet cover.
Note: To ensure optimum operation, mix tap water with distilled water. If your tap water is very hard, mix tap water with distilled water.
Heating
- Plug the device into a power supply.
- Set the steam regulator to the "0" position. The "Self-checking" function will activate, and the light indicator will flash for approximately 20 seconds.
- The device will automatically switch to the "All textiles" mode, and the corresponding light indicator will light up, indicating that the iron is heating up.
- When the iron is ready to use, the light indicator will remain steady on.
Setting the temperature
Start by ironing fabrics that require the lowest ironing temperature. Check the recommended ironing temperature on the garment's label. Press the temperature button on the handle repeatedly to change the ironing temperature and mode. Press twice each time to switch mode. The corresponding light indicator will turn on. When the iron is ready to use, the light indicator will remain steady on.
Setting the steam
The steam regulator is used to adjust the amount of steam produced when ironing. The recommended position of the steam regulator for each temperature setting is shown in Figure 2.
Note: For better ironing results, iron the last strokes without steam to dry the garment.
Steam burst function
This function can be used to remove stubborn creases or to press in a sharp crease or pleat. Set the temperature to "max". Press the steam burst button repeatedly with intervals of at least 5 seconds.
Vertical steam
Vertical steam can be used to remove creases from hanging clothes, curtains, etc. Set the temperature to "max". Hang the article of clothing on a clothes hanger. Operate the iron in a vertical position at a distance of 10 cm/4 inches and press the steam burst button repeatedly with pauses of at least 5 seconds.
Note: If the Auto shut-off light indicator flashes while ironing in a vertical position, it means the handle is not properly gripped, and the iron will cool down. Grip the handle correctly so that the light indicator remains lit permanently.
Spray
Spray can be used to remove stubborn creases. When ironing, press the spray button, and water will spray out of the spray nozzle onto the garment.
Note: Do not use the spray function with silk.
All textiles mode
This mode sets an appropriate temperature suitable for all ironable fabrics, preventing clothes from being damaged due to an unsuitable temperature selection. Note: The "All textiles" mode does not apply to fabrics that cannot be ironed. Check the garment care label for details or try ironing on an inconspicuous part of the fabric. Press the temperature icon on the handle twice to change the setting.
Auto shut-off function
This function switches off the iron when it is left unattended, increasing security and saving energy. While the handle is gripped, the iron heats up. The Auto shut-off light indicator remains lit continuously. When the handle is released, the Auto shut-off function is activated, the iron stops heating, and the Auto shut-off light indicator flashes.
Anti-drip function
This system controls the water flow to the soleplate at all times. Below a certain temperature, the anti-drip function cuts off the flow of water and stops the iron from dripping onto the fabric.
Descaling
The anti-calc function is a permanent system located inside the water tank to eliminate impurities from the water and reduce problems associated with limescale build-up. To prolong the efficiency of this system, follow these steps occasionally:
- Unplug the iron and allow it to cool down.
- Fill 3/4 of the measuring cup with water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water and fill the water tank with this solution.
- Leave the solution in the water tank for 15 minutes, shaking occasionally, and then empty it.
- Fill the water tank a second time with saltwater solution, shaking occasionally, and empty it again after 15 minutes.
- Fill the tank with fresh water to rinse and empty.
After ironing
- Unplug the iron from the power supply.
- Empty the water tank.
- Switch the steam regulator clockwise and back again several times (self-cleaning). Set the steam regulator to the "0" position. Each time the steam regulator is used, the Self-clean system cleans the mechanism of scale deposits.
- Leave the iron in a vertical position.
- Coil the power cord loosely around the heel of the iron. Store the iron in an upright position.
4. Cleaning and Maintenance
Turn off, unplug the appliance from the power supply, empty the water tank, and allow it to cool down completely. If any fabric is adhered to the soleplate, use a damp cloth with vinegar to wipe off the soleplate. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, powders, or cleaners to clean the product. If scale blocks the steam holes, use a toothpick to remove it. To protect the soleplate while it is stored, place the steam iron in an upright position on its heel rest. Do not store the device close to metal objects.
