Miele CM5 Series Coffee Machine Quick Start Guide
This quick start guide provides essential information for the initial setup and operation of your Miele CM5 series coffee machine (models CM5300, CM5400, CM5500). Please note that these instructions are a supplement to the full operating manual. Always refer to the main manual for comprehensive details and safety information.
First Use and Drink Preparation
Initial Setup: Follow the visual steps to prepare the machine for its first use.
Making Drinks:
- Prepare various drinks such as Ristretto, Long Coffee, Caffè Latte, Hot Milk, and Milk Froth.
- Select your desired beverage from the available options.
Maintenance: Descaling and Cleaning
Descaling:
- Step 1: Rinse the water container and fill it with fresh tap water up to the indicated mark (symbol 8).
- Step 2: Fill the water container with descaling agent and lukewarm water up to the descaling mark (symbol S) and place it in the appliance. This process takes approximately 15 minutes.
- Step 3: Insert the drip tray and the waste container. The process is now complete.
Degreasing the Brew Unit:
- Step 1: Rinse the brew unit by hand and clean the inside of the machine.
- Step 2: Insert the brew unit with a cleaning tablet into the machine and close the door. This process takes approximately 15 minutes.
- Step 3: Place an empty container with a 1000 ml capacity under the central spout. This process takes approximately 11 minutes.
- Step 4: Rinse the brew unit manually and clean the inside of the machine.
- Step 5: Insert the drip tray and the waste container. The process is finished.
