Introduction
General
This manual is intended for the user of the MD (Multi Deck) units. It describes the features and controls, along with directions for the safest and most efficient use, to ensure a long life for the unit. All pictograms, symbols, and drawings in this manual apply to all MD models.
Identification of the Unit
The identification plate, located on the outside of the machine, contains the following data:
- Name of the supplier or manufacturer
- Model
- Serial number
- Year of construction
- Voltage
- Frequency
- Power consumption

Safety Instructions
General Safety
The user is responsible for abiding by all local safety rules and regulations. Pictograms, labels, instructions, and warning signs attached to the unit are part of the safety measures and must remain visible throughout the unit's lifetime. Immediately repair or replace damaged or illegible pictograms, warnings, and instructions.
- Only pack products in suitable bags or containers that are heat resistant to at least 95°C (203°F).
- To ensure good contact with heated trays, place only a single layer of products.
- Ensure the air slot at the front of the shelf remains unobstructed.
- The unit must be cleaned regularly to ensure proper functioning.
- To avoid short-circuiting, never clean the unit with a water hose. Refer to section 5 for cleaning instructions.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children without supervision.
Moving, Hygiene, Service, Storage, and Disposal
Moving (when applicable)
When moving the unit:
- Before moving, switch off the mains voltage by pulling the plug from the wall socket.
- To avoid damage, remove lower skirts if necessary.
- The units are not suited to pass ledges or obstacles higher than 10 mm (0.4 inch).
- Ensure the wheels can move freely and do not touch the power lead.
Hygiene
The quality of fresh products depends on hygiene. It is essential that products are packaged immediately after preparation, with a core temperature of at least 85°C (185°F). Immediately remove products in damaged packaging from the equipment and clean any components that came into contact with them. Refer to section 5.
Service and Technical Support
The electrical schematics are included with your unit. For malfunctions, contact your dealer/service agent. Have the following data available: Model and Serial number (found on the identification plate).
Storage
If the unit will not be used temporarily:
- Clean the unit thoroughly.
- Wrap the unit to protect it from dust.
- Store the unit in a dry, non-condensing environment.
Disposal
Dispose of the machine, its components, or lubricants safely, in accordance with all local and national safety and environmental requirements. [Recycling symbol]
Description of the Unit
Technical Description
The unit uses convection heat. It is constructed from stainless or coated steel and features shatter-resistant clear side glass.
Intended Use
The unit is designed to maintain products at a minimum temperature of 65°C (150°F) for up to four hours. Any other use is not considered intended use. Fri-Jado accepts no liability for loss or injury caused by failing to adhere to safety guidelines, instructions, or due to carelessness during installation, use, maintenance, or repair.
Use the unit only in perfect technical condition.

Installation and First Use
All packing materials used for this unit are suitable for recycling.
After unpacking, check the unit's condition. In case of damage, store the packing material and contact the transporter within fifteen working days after receiving the goods.
Unpacking and Initial Setup
- Remove all packaging materials from the unit.
- Remove protective foil from the illuminated sign, shelves, and child guard.
- Remove all temporary tape.
- Before first use, clean the inside of the unit with a damp cloth.
- Avoid excessive use of water on the shelves; ensure no water enters the air slots.
- Clean the side glass both inside and out. Avoid scratches on all plastic and varnished parts; do NOT use aggressive detergents.
Operation and Use
Switch On
- Ensure the unit is properly connected to a suitable power source. [Power plug symbol]

- Switch on the unit using the power button. [Power button symbol] The unit may indicate heating and/or lighting status. [Light bulb symbol]

Note: Depending on the model execution, heating and lighting can be switched on or off separately.
Checking the Temperature in the Unit
Verify the unit's internal temperature is maintained at or above 85°C (185°F) using the control panel display. [Temperature display showing 85°C/185°F]
Checking the Product Temperature
Use a calibrated thermometer (e.g., alcohol 96%) to check the core temperature of the products. Ensure it is at least 65°C (150°F). This check should be performed periodically, e.g., once every 1 to 4 hours.
Switch Off

Daily Maintenance
- Turn off the unit and unplug it from the power source. [Power switch in OFF position]

- Remove all shelves and the child guard. [Shelves and child guard removed]
- Clean the interior of the unit. It is recommended to clean when the unit is warm (around 50°C / 120°F) for easier removal of residue. [Cleaning interior diagram with cleaning tools]
- Clean the exterior of the unit using a damp cloth and mild detergent. [Cleaning exterior diagram]
- Reassemble the unit by replacing the shelves and child guard. Ensure all parts are correctly positioned. [Reassembly diagram]
Malfunctions and Service
Temperature Fault
If a temperature fault occurs, the unit's display may show an error code (e.g., E1, E29). Consult the display for specific error codes. If the unit's temperature is too low (below 70°C / 160°F) or too high (above 120°C / 250°F), a fault may be indicated. [Error code display example] [Temperature warning symbols]
Troubleshooting:
- Switch off the unit and disconnect the power. [Power switch in OFF position]

Replacing a Lamp
MD Curved execution only:
- Gently pry open the lamp cover using a screwdriver. [Lamp cover opening diagram]

- Install the new lamp, ensuring it is seated correctly. [New lamp installation diagram]

Placing a Price Strip
Locate the price strip holder on the shelf. Slide the price strip into the holder until it is securely in place. [Price strip insertion diagram]
Replacing the Child Guard
To replace the child guard, align it with the guides on the shelf and slide it into place until it clicks. Ensure it is securely fitted. [Child guard replacement diagram]
Replacing the Mains Cord
If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazards. [Power cord replacement diagram]
