DocumentDocumentMAC users Seeker Wireless - software update procedure for MAC OS users Please follow these instructions to update your MXL003 Seeker Wireless Satellite System STEP 1 - Download file 1. You need an empty/blank USB flash memory stick, no larger than 32Gb, to copy the file onto. Please make sure it is formatted to FAT or FAT32. See page 4 for more details. 2. Insert your USB memory stick into an empty slot on your Mac desktop or laptop. 4. Click on the DOWNLOAD button on the screen to begin downloading the HEX File onto your system. 3. Find the software update section on the Maxview website https://maxview.co.uk/software-updates/ Click on the Seeker Update File link to go do a separate download page. 5. To locate the downloaded HEX file, search for your systems "DOWNLOADS" Folder. 6. Drag the file from the "DOWNLOADS" folder onto your desktop then straight onto the USB stick icon on your desktop. 7. The update file should now be on your USB stick ready for updating control box safely remove USB stick. STEP 2 - Update files to Control Box Power on SYNC/ SYNC/ USB Update Update port button LED 1. Turn on Control Box. Push in and hold for 7 seconds 2. Press and hold the SYNC button on the front of the Control Box for approximately 7 seconds until Sync/Update LED illuminates RED. LED goes out Turn off power Remove USB stick 3. Insert the USB flash memory stick. The SYNC LED will flash GREEN whilst data is being transferred. Transfer can take between 10-60 seconds. 4. When the SYNC LED goes out turn off the Control Box power and remove the USB flash memory stick. Power on LED will flash Red & Green 5. Turn power on, update LED will flash RED and GREEN whilst data is written to Control Box memory. STEP 3 - Pairing Update complete 6. When SYNC LED goes out update is complete. You are now ready to use your Seeker Wireless Satellite System. LED lights green Press and release button Press for 1 second 1. The Control Panel will read ERROR RF so you will need to pair the Control Panel and Control Box. Please continue for Troubleshooting 2. Briefly press (1 second) and release the SYNC/update button on the front of the Control Box. The Status LED will illuminate green. 3. Press Satellite UP or Down button on the panel to pair. Your control box and control panel are now paired. You are now ready to use your Seeker Wireless Satellite System. Troubleshooting Formatting USB stick 1. Once you've put the USB stick into your Mac, you need to open the Applications folder, which can be located in the Finder - or by pressing `cmd' and `spacebar' keys together then typing "applications". In Applications, scroll down to the Utilities folder and open the `Disk Utility' application. Alternatively, search for the application using OS X's built-in search function. 2. In the Disk Utility application, you need to select your USB drive in the column to the left of the window. 3. Once you have done this you need to select the Erase tab, which is found at the top of the large column to the right of the window. 4. When in the Erase tab, you need to make sure the Format dropdown box is displaying "MS-DOS (FAT) or (FAT32)". 5. Finally press the erase button and you will have formatted your USB stick - it will then go back to displaying it's full capacity as being available.
