Parts and Capacities Information

Note: Based on difficult operating conditions, some machines may require more frequent service intervals than the standard 500 hours. If operating in conditions at or above 1829 m (6000 ft), with biodiesel blends greater than B20, or in difficult conditions, perform service interval every 250 hours to better maintain engine performance.

Service Intervals

Service machine at intervals shown on this chart. Also, perform service on items at multiples of the original requirement. For example: at 500 hours, also service those items (if applicable) listed under 250 hours and 10 hours or daily.

Fluid Sampling

Take fluid samples from each system as indicated on this form. The manufacturer of the fluid analysis kits will provide maintenance recommendations based upon the results of the fluid analysis and the operating information supplied. Regular fluid sampling extends the operational life of machine.

As Required

• Inspect tires and check pressure
• Check wheel fastener torque
• Inspect cab fresh air and recirculation filter elements (if equipped)
• Service exhaust filter
• Drain water and sediment from fuel filters
• Check windshield washer fluid level (if equipped)
• Lubricate non-powered front wheel bearings (if equipped)
• Replace primary and secondary engine air filter elements
• Inspect and clean cooling system
• Clean and tighten battery terminals
• Check air conditioning system refrigerant charge and system oil charge (if equipped)

Every 10 Hours or Daily

• Check engine coolant level
• Check hydraulic system oil level
• Check engine oil level
• Lubricate loader pivots
• Lubricate loader quick coupler (if equipped)
• Lubricate backhoe boom, crowd cylinders, and pivots
• Lubricate backhoe hydraulic coupler (if equipped)
• Lubricate backhoe spring coupler (if equipped)
• Lubricate stabilizer pivots and cylinder pins (310L, 310SL, 310SLHL, and 410L only)
• Lubricate backhoe coupler mechanical jack (if equipped)
• Lubricate backhoe bucket cylinder and pivots
• Lubricate backhoe swing cylinder and pivots
• Lubricate non-powered front axle steering pivots (if equipped)
• Lubricate mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) axle steering pivots (if equipped)
• Lubricate mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) axle universal joints (if equipped)
• Lubricate multipurpose bucket pivots (if equipped)
• Lubricate power sideshift cylinder joints (if equipped) (315SL only)
• Lubricate top and bottom slideframe rails (315SL only)
• Lubricate front axle oscillation pin

Every 250 Hours

• Take engine oil sample
• Check rear axle oil level
• Check mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) axle planetary housing oil level (if equipped)
• Check mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) axle housing oil level (if equipped)
• Check air intake hose
• Check boom-to-dipperstick pin bolt torque
• Drain water and sediment from fuel tank
• Drain and refill engine oil and replace filter element
• Replace primary fuel filter element
• Check transmission oil level
• Lubricate mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) drive shaft spline (if equipped)

Every 500 Hours

• Take hydraulic oil sample
• Take transmission oil sample
• Take rear axle oil sample
• Take engine coolant sample
• Take diesel fuel sample

Every 1000 Hours

• Replace final fuel filter element
• Check coolant condition
• Clean, pack, and adjust non-powered front wheel bearings (if equipped)
• Drain and refill transmission oil and replace filter element
• Replace hydraulic oil filter element
• Replace hydraulic tank breather filter
• Replace fuel tank breather filter
• Inspect accessory drive belt and automatic tensioner
• Take mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) axle oil sample (if equipped)

Every 2000 Hours

• Drain and refill mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) axle planetary housing oil (if equipped)
• Drain and refill mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) axle housing oil (if equipped)
• Drain and refill rear axle and planetary housing oil
• Inspect and clean hydraulic tank fill screen
• Replace diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) dosing unit filter element
• Drain and refill hydraulic system oil
• Replace open crankcase ventilation (OCV) filter element
• Check and adjust engine valve lash

Every 4000 Hours

• Replace diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank breather filter
• Clean diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank
• Replace diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) header suction baffle

Every 6000 Hours

• Drain and refill cooling system
• Replace in-line diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) filter element
