Safe Use

WARNING Risk of suffocation! Children may breathe in or swallow small parts, causing suffocation. Keep small parts away from children. Do not let children play with small parts. Children may put packaging material over their heads or wrap themselves up in it and suffocate. Keep packaging material away from children. Do not let children play with packaging material.

WARNING Risk of poisoning! Risk of poisoning from flue gases being drawn back in. Room-air-dependent heat-producing appliances (e.g., gas, oil, wood or coal-operated heaters, continuous flow heaters or water heaters) obtain combustion air from the room and discharge exhaust gases into the open. With the extractor hood switched on, air is extracted from the kitchen and adjacent rooms. Without adequate air supply, air pressure falls below atmospheric pressure, and toxic gases from the chimney or extraction shaft can be sucked back into the living space.

WARNING Risk of fire! Leaving fat or oil cooking on an unattended hob can be dangerous and may lead to fires.

WARNING Risk of burns! The appliance and its touchable parts become hot during use, particularly the hob surround. Exercise caution to avoid touching heating elements. Young children under 8 years of age must be kept away from the appliance. Hob protective grilles may cause accidents. Never use hob protective grilles.

WARNING Risk of electric shock! Improper repairs are dangerous.

WARNING Risk of injury! Saucepans may suddenly jump due to liquid between the base and the hotplate. Always keep hotplates and saucepan bases dry. Never use icy-cold cookware from the freezer. When cooking in a bain marie, the hob and cooking container could shatter due to overheating. The cooking container must not directly touch the bottom of the water-filled pot. Only use heat-resistant cookware. An appliance with a cracked or broken surface can cause cuts. Do not use the appliance if it has a cracked or broken surface.

Avoiding Material Damage

This section details common causes of damage and how to avoid them.

Environmental Protection and Saving Energy

Disposing of Packaging

Packaging materials are environmentally compatible and recyclable. Sort components by type and dispose of them separately.

Saving Energy

Product Information according to (EU) 66/2014 can be found on the appliance pass and online on the product page.

Suitable Cookware

Cookware suitable for induction must have a ferromagnetic base (attracted by a magnet) and the base must match the cooking zone size. If cookware is not detected, place it on the zone with the next smallest diameter.

Size and Characteristics of Cookware

Correct detection depends on size and material. All cookware bases must be perfectly flat and smooth. Use the "Cookware test" function to check suitability (see Page 14).

CookwareMaterialsProperties
RecommendedStainless steel cookware in a sandwich design that distributes heat well. Ferromagnetic cookware made of enamelled steel, cast iron, or special induction cookware made of stainless steel.Distributes heat evenly, heats up quickly, and is easily detected. Heats up quickly and is easily detected.
SuitableThe base is not fully ferromagnetic. Cookware bases with aluminium content. If the ferromagnetic area is smaller than the base, only that area heats up, leading to uneven heat distribution. These reduce the ferromagnetic area, emitting less power. This cookware may not be detected or may not heat sufficiently.
Not suitableCookware made from normal thin steel, glass, clay, copper, or aluminium.

Residual Heat Indicator

Each cooking zone has a residual heat indicator. Do not touch the zone if the indicator is lit.

Operating Modes

The appliance can be used in air extraction mode or circulating-air mode.

Air Extraction Mode

Air is cleaned by grease filters and conveyed to the exterior via a pipe system. Air must not be discharged into a flue used for appliances burning gas or other fuels (unless they only discharge air back into the room). Obtain consent from the heating engineer if conveying exhaust air into a non-functioning smoke or exhaust gas flue. Use a telescopic duct for conveying exhaust air through an external wall.

Air Recirculation

Air is cleaned by grease filters and an odour filter, then conveyed back into the room. An odour filter must be installed to bind odours. For intensive or long cooking, adequate kitchen ventilation (e.g., opening a window) is recommended to remove excess moisture.

Before Using for the First Time

Initial Cleaning

Remove packaging, wipe the hob surface with a damp cloth. Recommended detergents are listed on the official website.

Preparing the Appliance

Ensure correct operation by arranging components: 1. Insert the filter. 2. Insert the metal grease filter. Never operate without the metal grease filter and overflow container.

Cooking with Induction

Induction technology offers benefits like time/energy savings, easier cleaning, and improved heat control as heat is generated directly in the cookware.

Cookware

Recommended cookware lists are available on the official website (see Page 6).
