Bryton Rider 15 Neo: Quick Start Guide
This guide provides essential information to get you started with your Bryton Rider 15 Neo GPS cycling computer.
Getting Started
Follow these initial steps to set up your device:
- Power On: Press and hold the POWER/MENU/BACK button (C) to turn on the device. The device will prompt you to select units.
- Select Unit: Choose your preferred units for speed, temperature, and distance (e.g., km/h, °C or mi/h, °F).
- Get GPS Signal: Once powered on and units are selected, the device will search for GPS satellites. Wait until a strong GPS signal is acquired (indicated by a stable GPS icon).
- Go!: After acquiring a GPS signal, you are ready to ride. Press the OK/RECORD button (A) to start recording your activity.
Mount Installation
Refer to the diagrams for instructions on how to securely mount the Bryton Rider 15 Neo onto your bicycle handlebars.
Button Functions
The Rider 15 Neo features three main buttons:
- A. OK/RECORD: Used to confirm selections within menus and to start or stop recording activities.
- B. BACKLIGHT/PAGE: Long press to turn the backlight on or off. In menus, press to scroll through options. When viewing data screens, press to cycle through different pages.
- C. POWER/MENU/BACK: Short press to enter or exit menus, or to return to the main menu. Press once to turn the device on. Long press to turn the device off. Pressing all three buttons simultaneously will reboot the device.
Basic Settings and Configuration
Navigate through the menus using the buttons to configure various settings:
- Bike Profiles: Select and configure settings for Bike 1 or Bike 2.
- Wheel Size: Enter your wheel size for accurate speed and distance calculations. Consult your wheel manufacturer or the full user manual for precise measurements.
- Altitude: Calibrate or set the current altitude.
- Unit: Confirm or change measurement units.
- Hour: Set the time format (12h or 24h) and adjust the current time.
- Odometer: View the total distance accumulated by the device.
- Delete Data: Option to clear recorded activities or data.
- Factory Reset: Restore the device to its original factory settings.
- Daylight Saving Time: Toggle Daylight Saving Time settings.
Sensor Pairing
To pair compatible Bryton Smart Sensors (Heart Rate Monitor, Cadence Sensor, Speed Sensor, or Combo Sensor):
- Ensure your Bryton Smart Sensors are installed and activated (e.g., wear the heart rate monitor, rotate the crank and wheel to wake sensors).
- On the Rider 15 Neo, navigate to the sensor pairing section within the settings menu.
- The device will scan for nearby active sensors. Select your sensor from the list and confirm the pairing.
Bryton Active App Integration
Enhance your experience by connecting your Rider 15 Neo to the Bryton Active App:
- Download the App: Scan the QR code on the cover of this guide with your smartphone, or search for "Bryton Active" in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Account Setup: Sign up for a new Bryton Active account or log in to an existing one.
- Add Device: Within the Bryton Active App, navigate to "Settings" > "Device Manager" > "+". Select your Rider 15 Neo and tap "Yes" to add it to your account. Ensure the device's UUID matches the one shown in the app.
- Sync Data: After successful pairing, you can upload your rides, receive notifications for calls, texts, and emails on your device, and customize data screens and other advanced settings.
Uploading and Sharing Tracks via USB
Transfer your recorded activities to your computer:
- Connect your Rider 15 Neo to your computer using the included USB cable.
- Navigate to the `Bryton > Activities` folder on the device and select the `.fit` files you wish to transfer.
- Upload these files to brytonactive.com or your preferred training platforms such as STRAVA, TrainingPeaks, Endomondo, Relive, or Today's Plan.
Icon Descriptions
Key icons you will see on the Rider 15 Neo display:
- Power Status: Indicates battery level.
- Speed: Displays current speed, or indicates if you are Above/Below Average Speed.
- Direction: Shows your current heading.
- GPS Signal: Indicates the strength and status of the GPS connection (Strong, No Signal, Not Fixed).
- Bike 2: Shows that the second bike profile is active.
- Backlight: Indicates the backlight is on.
- Recording: A visual indicator that the device is actively recording an activity.
- Pause: Indicates that the current recording session is paused.
- Gradient: Displays the current incline or decline of the terrain.
- Time: Shows Ride Time, Trip Time, or Current Time.
- Sensors: Icons for Cadence Sensor and Heart Rate Sensor connection status.
- Altitude: Displays Altitude Gain or Altitude Loss during your ride.
- Odometer: Shows the total accumulated distance.
- Notifications: Icons for incoming Call, Email, or Text messages.
- Setting Mode: Indicates the device is currently in a settings menu.
- Afternoon: Indicates PM time.
- Units: Displays the current Temperature Unit or Length Unit.
