Wi-Fi PlugPro Quick Installation Guideline

1. Installation

This section outlines the physical connection steps for the Wi-Fi PlugPro device.

  1. Connect the 4PIN aviation connector of the Wi-Fi PlugPro to the power cable's aviation side and ensure it is tightened securely.
  2. Connect the other side of the power cable to the inverter.
  3. Confirm the status of the LED indicators. After completing step 2.3, all four LED indicators (PWR, COM, NET, SRV) should remain on, indicating normal working status.

Device Description: The Wi-Fi PlugPro is a compact device with a barcode label indicating its Datalogger PN (e.g., PN: B1234567892345). It connects via a 4-pin aviation connector to a power cable, which then connects to an inverter. The device features four LED indicators:

  • PWR: Power Status LED indicator
  • COM: Communication Status LED indicator
  • NET: Network Status LED indicator
  • SRV: Server Status LED indicator

2. Wireless Router Connection

This section guides you through connecting the Wi-Fi PlugPro to your wireless network using the SmartESS application.

2.1 Download APP and Wi-Fi Connection

  1. Scan the appropriate QR Code to download the SmartESS APP. There are two QR codes provided: one for SmartESS (iOS) and one for SmartESS (Android).
  2. Select the Wi-Fi network corresponding to the Wi-Fi PlugPro's Product Number (PN) to connect on your phone's WLAN. The initial password is 12345678.

App Screen Description (WLAN Selection): A smartphone screen displays a WLAN list. The list includes various Wi-Fi networks such as '2018LA', 'W2015', 'Eybond2015', 'Eybond 2.4g', 'W0016250020617', 'Wifi-test', and 'Wifi111'. The network 'W0016250020617' is highlighted, indicating the Wi-Fi PlugPro's network, with a password input field showing '12345678'.

2.2 Wi-Fi Config

  1. Open the SmartESS APP and tap the 'Wi-Fi Config' button to access the configuration page.
  2. Then, tap the 'Network Setting' button.

App Screen Description (SmartESS Login & Connected):

  • SmartESS Login Screen: Shows fields for 'Please enter user name' and 'Please enter password', with 'Login', 'Wi-Fi Config', and 'Register' buttons. A 'Keep password' checkbox is also visible.
  • Connected Screen: Displays 'Connected' with a Wi-Fi icon and the network name 'W0016250020617'. It prompts 'Please choose a Wi-Fi and connect'. Buttons include 'Connect Wi-Fi Datalogger', 'Network Setting', and 'Network Diagnose'.

2.3 Network Setting

  1. Follow the prompts within the app to enter the required information and complete the network setting.
  2. After the Wi-Fi PlugPro restarts, reconnect to the Wi-Fi network that was connected in step 2.1.

3. Create Account And Datalogger

This section details how to create a SmartESS account and add your Wi-Fi PlugPro datalogger.

3.1 Create Account

  1. Open the SmartESS APP and tap the 'Register' button.
  2. Follow the prompts to enter the necessary information and complete the account creation process.

App Screen Description (Register):

  • SmartESS Login Screen: As described previously, with 'Register' button highlighted.
  • Register Screen: Features input fields for 'User Name', 'Password', 'Confirm Password', 'E-mail', 'Phone Number', and 'PN' (Datalogger PN). A 'Register' button is at the bottom.

3.2 Add Datalogger

  1. Log in to your newly created account and click the 'Datalogger' list button, typically located at the bottom of the home page.
  2. Tap the '+' button, usually found in the top-right corner of the datalogger list page.
  3. Scan the datalogger PN barcode on the Wi-Fi PlugPro, or input it manually into the app.
  4. Follow the prompts to enter the required information and finalize adding the datalogger.

App Screen Description (Add Datalogger Flow):

  • Datalogger List Screen: Shows a 'Datalogger List' header with a search bar and a '+' button. Below, a list item 'Datalogger Name' with a sample PN is displayed. Navigation icons for 'Device', 'Datalogger', 'Alarm', and 'Me' are at the bottom.
