Getting Started: Overview
The Phase-Cut Dimming Module (PCDM) by Encelium serves as an interface between phase-cut dimmable luminaires and the Encelium X Lighting Control System. Upon connection to the GreenBus network, the PCDM is automatically addressed, allowing for individual control and configuration of lighting groups or zones to optimize facility needs.
Wired System Overview
Encelium's GreenBus technology simplifies wiring for lighting control systems, supporting DALI devices exclusively or a mix of GreenBus and DALI. The system architecture connects luminaires, sensors, PCDMs, and the Wired Manager via the GreenBus network.
Installation
The PCDM is designed for straightforward installation on standard square 119.1 mm (4.6875 inches) junction boxes. Installation is restricted to dry, indoor locations only. The document details AC line input and GreenBus port connections.
Compatible Load Types
The PCDM is compatible with incandescent/Halogen lamps and ELV LED lamps or LED drivers. It is not compatible with ELV/MLV transformers or MLV LED drivers.
Wire Length Consideration
Maintain a maximum combined dimmed line (Red) length of 15.2 m (50 ft) from the PCDM to the load. This limit includes wiring within luminaires. Exceeding it may cause component stress and failure.
Electrical Connections
Detailed PCDM wiring includes connections for Line In (Black), Neutral (White), Relay Output & DIM Control (Red), Ground (Green), and GreenBus ports.
GreenBus Communication
GreenBus provides reliable communication for Encelium X and Encelium Edge Lighting Control Systems. Wiring can originate from a Wired Manager or compatible modules (WALC, WCM). Use proprietary connectors for PCDM GreenBus ports and follow system layout drawings for optimal paths.
Note: Relay contacts support a maximum switching capacity of 120 VAC, 450 W or 277 VAC, 900 W. Non-daisy-chain connections require approval from an Encelium Representative.
