SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: Please carefully read the following instructions before installing the terrarium heating mat 1. Do not submerge cord, plug or the heating mat in water or other liquids. 2. Before carrying out any cleaning operation, remove the plug from the electricity. 3. Do not put in operation if heating mat shows damaged cord or plug. 4. To unplug, do not unplug by pulling on cord, grasp the plug. 5. Be sure your hands are dry before handle any parts of the device. 6. The use is allowed on glass and Plexiglas terrariums. 7. Check that the voltage shown on the heating mat corresponds to the voltage of your electricity supply network. 8. Make sure that there is heat exchange between the terrarium and the heater to prevent overheating of the heating mat. Use non-flammable and non-heat-insulating substrates. The substrate must ensure proper heat transmission. The spacers (not included) MUST be used when no bottom frame is available to provide air space and ventilation around the heater and prevent its overheating. 9. Indoor and dry location use ONLY. 10. Observe the instruction written in this guide. DO NOT use heating mat for other purposes from those mentioned in these instructions. 11. Keep out of the reach of children, they always need to be supervised to ensure the correct use of the heating mat. 12. The heating mat must never be cut, perforated, or folded. 13. Make sure the heating mat is installed correctly following the instructions. Use thermostats or thermometers to keep the 1 temperature controlled inside the terrarium. We advise you to turn on the heating mat for 24 hours before introducing in the terrarium live animals in order to adjust the correct temperature inside the terrarium and verify the heater in operation. 14. Never install the heating mat inside the terrarium without substrates. It could cause animals death or burnings. The heating mat has no electricity switch. The appliance starts to work once it is plugged into an electric socket at max 240 volts. Do not attempt to fold the heating mat. If the electrical supply cable is damaged, it must be substituted by the maker or by a technical assistance service of the maker or at any case by a person with similar qualifications to prevent any kind of risk. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS: Cold-blooded animals body temperature regulation occurs when they simply moving to a warmer or a cooler spot, seeking for surfaces heated by the sun or cooled by shades. The heating mat simulates heating condition that animals find in nature by warming the substrate of the terrarium. It is important to leave sufficient `cold spots' to provide animals comfort and make their thermo-regulation possible. The heating mat positioned under the terrarium should not overlap the terrarium base frame. The heater shall never cover more than 50% of the terrarium surface where it is located. Ensure thermal gradient inside the terrarium. 1. Clean properly the surface of the bottom glass of the terrarium. 2. If terrarium has no bottom frame (fig.1) spacers (not provided) are needed under each of the corner to support the Fig. 1 terrarium and provide air space and ventilation around the heater and prevent its overheating. 3. Carefully place the heating mat under the bottom of the terrarium (fig.2), be sure it would perfectly fit and not come out of the edge. Ensure that the terrarium does not push down on the electric cable. 4. Put the terrarium on a Fig. 2 hard and plane surface. 5. Add the substrate inside the terrarium. The heating mat is not designed to be used without a substrate. Direct contact between heater and animals must be avoided. 6. Plug in the heating mat to the main supply electricity network and then wait 24 hours before introducing live animals in the terrarium. IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the electrical contact block of the heater does not be pressed under the terrarium. The bottom frame of the terrarium MUST not pinch the cable or any other parts of the heater. Do not bend or fold the heater foil; this could cause malfunctions of the heating mat and damage to people, animals, and things. USE rubber spacers (not provided) if terrarium has not bottom frame. Substrates The mat heating depends on the type of the substrates used. The use of the substrate is needed. Heat mat must be used with a substrate in order to prevent reptile to being burned. The conductivity of the substrate, as the thickness of the layer, influences the heat efficiency of the heating mat. Notes: Wet substrates increase rapidly the humidity in the terrarium when heated by the heating mat. The guarantee consists of the substitution or repair, without charge, of the component parts of the heating mat which turn out to be defective at their origin due to a manufacturing error. The guarantee is not valid in cases where the defects are the result of mishandling, negligence or improper use of the heater. In cases in which the appliance is sent back to the maker for repair, it is to be sent together with the invoice or receipt proving the date of purchasing. The shipping costs, both ways, are to be paid by the customer. The company does not take responsibility for damage caused by the appliance to people, animals or things due to inobservance of the warnings and instructions to be found with the product at purchase. DISPOSAL WARNINGS: INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT ACCORDING TO EUROPEAN REGULATIONS N° 2002/95CE - 2002/96CE 2003/108CE The barred symbol of the rubbish bin printed on the appliance indicates that the product, at the end of its life cycle is to be disposed separately from the rest of the rubbish. Therefore, once the appliance life cycle has terminated, the user must take it to a suitable rubbish collection centre for proper recycling of electrical and electronic products, or return it to the seller, at the moment of purchase of a new equivalent heating mat, on the bases of one bought one returned. Non utilizzare se il tappetino riscaldante presenta cavo o spina danneggiati. 4. Non scollegare tirando il cavo. Per scollegare, afferrare la spina, non il cavo. 5. Non maneggiare la spina o altre parti elettriche del tappetino riscaldante con le mani bagnate. 6. L'uso del tappetino riscaldante è consigliato con terrari di vetro o Plexiglas. 7. Verificare che la tensione indicata sull'apparecchio corrisponda alla tensione della rete di alimentazione elettrica. 8. Assicurarsi che ci sia scambio termico tra il terrario e il riscaldatore per evitare il surriscaldamento del tappetino riscaldante. Utilizzare substrati non infiammabili e non termoisolanti. Il substrato deve garantire una giusta trasmissione del calore. I distanziatori (non forniti) DEVONO essere utilizzati quando non è presente alcuna cornice alla base per l'appoggio del terrario. Dev'essere garantito uno spazio d'aria e ventilazione intorno al riscaldatore. 9. SOLO per uso domestico interno. Solo per l'uso in condizioni asciutte. 10. NON utilizzare per scopi diversi da quelli descritti in questa guida per l'utente. 11. Tenere fuori dalla portata dei bambini, i quali devono essere sempre sorvegliati affinché non giochino con il riscaldatore elettrico. 12. Il tappetino riscaldante non deve mai essere perforato, piegato o tagliato per ridurne le sue dimensioni. 13. Assicurarsi che il tappetino riscaldante sia installato correttamente. Controllare sistematicamente che la temperatura sia come desiderata grazie all'uso di un termostato o di un termometro. Ti consigliamo di accendere il tappetino riscaldante 24 ore prima di introdurre nel terrario animali vivi, in modo monitorare il riscaldatore in funzione e di verificarne la regolazione della temperatura. 14. Non installare mai il tappetino riscaldante all'interno del terrario senza substrati. Potrebbe causare la morte o delle ustioni agli animali. Il tappetino riscaldante non ha interruttore elettrico. L'apparecchio inizia a funzionare una volta collegato a una presa elettrica a max 240 volt. Non tentare di aprire il tappetino riscaldante. Se il cavo di alimentazione elettrica è danneggiato, deve essere sostituito dal costruttore o da un servizio di assistenza tecnica del costruttore o comunque da una persona con qualifiche simili per prevenire qualsiasi tipo di rischio. ISTRUZIONI: Gli animali a sangue freddo regolano la loro temperatura corporea spostandosi in un luogo più fresco o più caldo a seconda delle loro esigenze. Il tappetino riscaldante simula il riscaldamento naturale del sole rendendo tiepido il substrato del terrario. È importante lasciar sufficienti "punti freddi" per fornire comfort agli animali e rendere possibile la loro termo-regolazione. 5 Il tappetino riscaldante posizionato sotto la base del terrario non deve fuoriuscire dalla sua base. Assicurare il gradiente termico all'interno del terrario. Il riscaldatore non deve coprire più del 50% della superficie del terrario dove è collocato. 1. Pulire la superficie esterna della base del terrario. 2. Se il terrario non possiede la base d'appoggio (fig.1), bisogna posizionare dei distanziatori (non forniti) sotto ogni angolo a sostegno del terrario. Fig. 1 3. Posizionare con cura il tappetino riscaldante sotto il terrario (fig.2). Assicurarsi che la base del terrario non prema sul cavo elettrico. 4. Il terrario deve essere posizionato su una superficie Fig. 2 dura come un supporto o un tavolo da terrario. 5. Aggiungere il substrato all'interno del terrario. Collegare il tappetino riscaldante 6 alla rete elettrica. Attendere 24 ore prima di introdurre animali vivi all'interno del terrario. 6. Il tappetino riscaldante non è progettato per essere utilizzato senza substrato, DEVE essere evitato il diretto contatto del riscaldatore con gli animali. IMPORTANTE: Quando si installa questo riscaldatore, è importante che il blocco di contatto elettrico non sia piegato e che si trovi ben posizionato sotto la superficie di base del terrario. Il terrario non deve appoggiarsi sul blocco di contatto del tappetino riscaldante. In nessun caso il foglio riscaldante deve essere piegato o stropicciato; ciò potrebbe causare un guasto del prodotto e pericolo per persone, animali e cose. USARE dei distanziatori in gomma (non forniti) quando si installa il tappeto riscaldante su un terrario privo di rialzo inferiore. Substrati Il tappetino riscaldante NON DEVE essere utilizzato senza substrato. L'efficienza del riscaldatore dipende dal tipo di substrato utilizzato e dal suo spessore, poiché alcuni substrati sono più conduttivi di altri. Note: I substrati bagnati aumentano rapidamente l'umidità dell'ambiente all'interno del terrario quando riscaldati dal tappetino. Questo è l'ideale per rettili e anfibi amanti di ambienti caldi e umidi. Ricordarsi di posizionare le fonti d'acqua lontano dal calore del tappetino riscaldante per impedirne l'evaporazione e la veloce diminuzione di riserve a disposizione dell'animale.
