2. Installation
Follow these steps for installation:
- Drill a 65mm hole in the ceiling.
- Carefully prise off the cable clamps.
- Make connections to the pluggable terminal blocks.
- Insert plug connectors and secure using the provided cable clamps, then clip terminal covers to the base.
- Fit detection blind (if required) and desired lens.
- Clip fascia to body.
- Bend back springs and insert into ceiling.
Wire Preparation
Use pluggable screw terminals. It is recommended to make connections to the terminal before fitting to the sensor.
Wire gauge: 0.75-2.5mm².
Strip length: 8mm (min 6mm, max 11mm).
Maximum cable lengths:
- 200 meters (total) max. for 1mm² CSA (Ta = 50°C)
- 300 meters (total) max. for 1.5mm² CSA (Ta = 50°C)
3. Functions
3.1 Daylight Harvest (Daylight Regulating)
The daylight sensor measures ambient natural light and calculates the required electrical light to reach a target lux level. This demand is communicated to the LED driver via DALI signal to adjust light output accordingly.
3.2 Lux Off Function
The built-in daylight sensor can automatically switch off the fixture when the ambient natural light level exceeds the set daylight threshold, indicating that artificial light is not required.
3.3 Dual DALI Output Control
The HIR32 features two self-powered DALI output channels for connecting two groups of LED drivers. Both channels share the same control settings from the occupancy sensor and photocell.

3.4 Manual Override (Push Function)
Three push terminals (P1, P2, P3) allow temporary control of light brightness, on/off status, and color temperature for the two DALI channels. Settings revert to daylight harvest mode after the sensor's time-out period.
- P1: Long push adjusts hold-time brightness for DALI channel 1; Short push ([less than] 1s) toggles on/off for channel 1.
- P2: Long push adjusts hold-time brightness for DALI channel 2; Short push ([less than] 1s) toggles on/off for channel 2.
- P3: Long push cycles through color tuning (requires DT8 LED driver); Short push ([less than] 1s) resumes automatic daylight harvest mode.

5. Description of the Button Functions (Remote Control HRC-11)
The HRC-11 remote control offers various functions:
- Permanent ON/OFF [button 1]: Selects permanent ON or permanent OFF mode. Pressing button 2 or 4 exits this mode.
- RESET [button 2]: Resets all settings to default values (Hold-time: 5min, Daylight sensor: 100Lux, Stand-by time: 10min, Stand-by dimming level: 20%).
- Test Mode [button 15]: Activates a test mode with a 2-second hold-time. Stand-by period and daylight sensor are disabled. Exits by pressing "Reset", "Scene mode", or "Hold-time" buttons.
- Shift [button 3]: Activates mode selection. Settings in red are valid for 20 seconds.
- Auto Mode [button 4]: Initiates automatic operation with current settings.
- Semi-auto Mode [button 3 & 4]: Requires manual ON via a push-switch; sensor automatically turns OFF.
- Power output [button 5]: Switches light output between 80% and 100%. "Sensor off" and "Twilight" functions are disabled.
- Brightness +/- [button 6]: Adjusts light brightness and color temperature (10%~100%).
- Scene prog. [zone 7] (One-key-commissioning): Allows programming and saving settings:
- Press "Start" to begin.
- Select parameters using buttons in zones 8 (Detection range), 9/10 (Daylight threshold), 11 (Hold time), 12 (Stand-by time), 13 (Stand-by dimming level).
- Press "Memory" to save programmed settings.
- Press "Apply" to set the programmed parameters to sensor unit(s).
- Detection range [zone 8]: These buttons are disabled.
- Daylight threshold [zone 9]: Sets daylight sensor levels: 2Lux, 10Lux, 50Lux, 100Lux, 300Lux, 500Lux, or Disable. Use "Shift" button first for 100Lux/300Lux/500Lux.
- Ambient daylight threshold [button 10]: Press "Shift" (red LED flashes), then press button 10 to sample and set the current ambient lux level as the new daylight threshold.
- Hold time [zone 11]: Sets hold time: 2s, 30s, 1min, 5min, 10min, 15min, 20min, 30min. Use "Shift" button first for 30s/5min/15min/30min. (2s is for test mode only).
- Stand-by time [zone 12]: Sets stand-by period: 0s (on/off control), 10s, 1min, 5min, 10min, 30min, 1h, +∞ (bi-level control, remains at stand-by dimming level).
- Stand-by dimming level [zone 13]: Sets stand-by dimming level: 10%, 20%, 30%, 50%. (Functions 24h/12h/4h/30s are disabled).
- Dual tech & RF mode [zone 14]: All buttons in this zone are disabled.
