2. Installation

Follow these steps for installation:

  1. Drill a 65mm hole in the ceiling.
  2. Carefully prise off the cable clamps.
  3. Make connections to the pluggable terminal blocks.
  4. Insert plug connectors and secure using the provided cable clamps, then clip terminal covers to the base.
  5. Fit detection blind (if required) and desired lens.
  6. Clip fascia to body.
  7. Bend back springs and insert into ceiling.

Wire Preparation

Use pluggable screw terminals. It is recommended to make connections to the terminal before fitting to the sensor.

Wire gauge: 0.75-2.5mm².

3. Functions

3.1 Daylight Harvest (Daylight Regulating)

The daylight sensor measures ambient natural light and calculates the required electrical light to reach a target lux level. This demand is communicated to the LED driver via DALI signal to adjust light output accordingly.

3.2 Lux Off Function

The built-in daylight sensor can automatically switch off the fixture when the ambient natural light level exceeds the set daylight threshold, indicating that artificial light is not required.

3.3 Dual DALI Output Control

The HIR32 features two self-powered DALI output channels for connecting two groups of LED drivers. Both channels share the same control settings from the occupancy sensor and photocell.

3.4 Manual Override (Push Function)

Three push terminals (P1, P2, P3) allow temporary control of light brightness, on/off status, and color temperature for the two DALI channels. Settings revert to daylight harvest mode after the sensor's time-out period.

4. Wiring Diagram

Diagram shows the wiring connections. The HIR32 sensor is connected to mains power (L, N). Its DALI outputs (DA1, DA2) are connected to two separate LED drivers. Each DALI channel has a maximum device capacity indicated (e.g., Max. 15pcs for DA1, Max. 25pcs for DA2). The manual override push terminals (P1, P2, P3) are also shown connected to the sensor.
