BIOPAC NIBP100D Noninvasive Blood Pressure Monitoring System
Product Sheet
Overview
The BIOPAC NIBP100D Noninvasive Blood Pressure Monitoring System is designed for measuring blood pressure in subjects ranging from small children (approximately 4-5 years) to large adults.
Key Features
- Accurate noninvasive blood pressure values
- Comfortable for subjects to wear
- Real-time, continuous, noninvasive blood pressure
- Easy to use
System Description
The NIBP100D system provides a continuous, beat-to-beat blood pressure signal recorded from the fingers. It outputs a waveform similar to a direct arterial pressure waveform and displays systolic, diastolic, mean blood pressure, and heart rate.
It utilizes a double finger cuff, comfortable and easy to place, available in three sizes to accommodate various age groups and sizes. The system interfaces with BIOPAC MP160/150 or MP36/36R/35/45 Data Acquisition Systems via specific interface connectors and cables. The AcqKnowledge or BSL PRO software visualizes the blood pressure signal and provides detailed beat-to-beat analysis.
The NIBP100D is calibrated using a standard blood pressure cuff on the upper arm. The unit automatically takes a measurement for calibration. During recording, it alternates between fingers to relieve pressure, with user-selectable intervals up to 60 minutes. Calibration readings are taken periodically to ensure accuracy.
Setup and calibration take less than three minutes. The system employs a vascular unloading technique, a refined version of the Penáz principle, for continuous noninvasive blood pressure measurement using concentrically interlocking control loops.
Hyperbaric/Hypobaric Chamber Setup Guidelines
- Cuff controller and CNAP monitor must be in the same chamber with identical pressure environments, as both have pressure sensors for surrounding pressure.
- Pressure changes should be continuous, not abrupt.
- For hypobaric environments, take measures against device overheating (e.g., dim CNAP display, do not restrict airflow).
- Ensure no draught on the cuff.
- Maintain the hand at heart level in a steady position.
