Description

The VD16GZ S-Board is a comprehensive and versatile hardware kit designed for evaluating and integrating the VD16GZ image sensor. It provides all necessary hardware components, from electronics to optics, to facilitate thorough product evaluation or direct integration into a system.

The kit comprises a sensor board featuring the VD16GZ image sensor with an FFC output connector, an M12 lens holder, a default nonglued lens, and a ribbon cable. The FFC connector and cable enable instantaneous integration with embedded processing platforms through plug-and-play connectivity. Compatible Linux drivers are available for download on st.com, ensuring seamless software integration.

The VD16GZ S-Board's architecture offers significant flexibility for customization. The included nonglued lens can be focused to user requirements or replaced with a different lens. The M12 lens holder supports a wide range of M12 or smaller off-the-shelf lenses. The standard FFC connector allows for the use of cables with various lengths and pinouts to suit specific setups.

For PC-based sensor evaluation, the VD16GZ S-Board can be connected to ST's generic EVK Main hardware, transforming it into a USB solution. A complementary evaluation software GUI for PCs is also available for free download on st.com.

Notes:

  2. To get USB output, the VD16GZ S-Board must be connected to the EVK Main kit by ST.
  3. Other pinouts (ex: 15 pins) are possible by plugging other off-the-shelf cable adaptors available from various providers.
