Features
- This product serves as a specialized base for the Steam Deck, featuring 2 RGB color mixing lights on the front that can be customized for a personalized gaming ambiance.
- The integrated semiconductor cooler effectively addresses overheating issues during extended use of the Steam Deck. The dynamic RGB lighting can also control the cooling intensity (strong cooling, weak cooling, or off). The cooler can be adjusted within a small range, allowing for optimal positioning of the Steam Deck.
- The upstream USB-C connection features a 90° elbow design to prevent interference with game operation.
- The downstream USB HUB includes 3 ports (2x USB-A, 1x USB-C) supporting 5Gbps data transfer speeds. It is backward compatible with USB 2.0/USB 1.1 and supports the BC1.2 charging protocol.
- Compliant with HDCP v1.4/v2.3 repeater standards, it supports video output up to 4K resolution at 60Hz.
- The USB-C PD interface supports PD3.0 version, with a maximum power supply of 100W (20V/5A) for fast charging, though it does not support data transmission through this port.
- The network interface conforms to IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u, and IEEE802.3ab standards, providing adaptive 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet connectivity.
Package Contents
- 1 x Steam Deck Docking Station
- 1 x USB-C 100W PD Fast Charging Cable (2M)
- 1 x User Manual
How to Use
- Connect the HDMI port to your TV or monitor using an HDMI cable.
- Turn on your Steam Deck and dock it onto the docking station. Then, plug the upstream Type-C port into the Steam Deck.
- Connect a compatible USB-C PD power adapter to the USB-C PD power input port (D).
- Power on the device. The game should be projected onto the TV, and your console will begin charging. This process may take 5-10 seconds for the screen to appear.
- If a wired network connection is needed, insert the network cable directly into the RJ45 Ethernet port (F).
- Connect the USB-C DC power supply port (C) and the 3 data interfaces (G) as needed for your peripherals.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Why is the speed of reading and writing data on the downstream USB HUB interface slow?
A: This product has undergone rigorous testing. Under normal read and write conditions, the read and write speed of the hard disk can reach the standard transmission speed of USB 5Gbps. If the reading and writing speed is slow, please confirm whether the connected host USB port, storage device, or data cable also supports the USB 5Gbps version.
Q: Why can't the connected USB device be recognized or is it disconnected during use?
A: 1. Please check if the interface on the host side (e.g., Steam Deck) is working normally. 2. This may be caused by insufficient power supply to the USB interface due to high power consumption of your connected USB peripherals. It is recommended to connect the power adapter when using this type of product, or connect the product to a PD charging source to ensure sufficient power supply.
Q: After connecting a new external USB hard drive, why can't I find the mobile hard drive or the corresponding drive letter in Steam Deck?
A: Because the Steam Deck's desktop mode is based on Linux, please format the external USB storage device in advance with a file system format supported by Linux. Otherwise, it may not be able to output the disk, which is not a malfunction of this product.
Q: How to protect the hard disk and data, and realize safe exit?
A: When you want to remove a mobile hard disk without shutting down the operating system, to protect your hard disk and data from damage, it is recommended that users safely remove the USB peripheral through the system. Choose to eject the disk device first, and then remove the equipment.
Important Notes
- The standard power supply for the Steam Deck is 45W, while the semiconductor cooling power of this product requires approximately 15W. The standard 45W power supply may not be sufficient for both the Steam Deck and the cooling device to operate simultaneously. Therefore, when using the built-in 45W power supply, you may need to connect a separate external 5V/2-3A USB power adapter to the USB-C DC port for additional power.
- When using a third-party PD power supply greater than 61W (not included), this product can automatically allocate 15W for the semiconductor cooler. Users can choose to connect or not connect the external USB-C based on the power requirements of peripherals connected to the downstream USB HUB. A higher wattage PD power supply will provide more sufficient power.
- Although USB devices support hot-plugging, when using storage devices such as U disks and mobile hard disks, it is advisable to safely remove the devices from the system before unplugging them to prevent data loss.
- When using a high-power USB device, if the device is equipped with its own power adapter, please connect that adapter to power the device directly. This prevents unrecognized devices or unstable operation caused by insufficient power supply.
- This product utilizes semiconductor refrigeration technology, achieving a minimum temperature of around 8°C. If the Steam Deck is not placed on the dock, the temperature difference can be significant, potentially leading to condensation. To prevent this, turn off the cooling fan function when the Steam Deck is not in use for extended periods.
- Do not place the product in a humid or high-temperature environment.
