ZYXEL GS1350 Series Quick Start Guide

Hardware Installation

The following steps detail the hardware installation process. Ensure all connections are secure before proceeding.

Step 0: Connect the AC power cord to the AC input on the device and plug it into a power outlet.

Step 1: For securing the device, use a 16 AWG or smaller wire and attach it to the designated screw hole on the back of the device.

Option A: Cloud Management

This section outlines the process for managing the switch via the cloud.

Step C2a: Access the Zyxel Nebula Control Center (NCC) by navigating to http://nebula.zyxel.com in your web browser. Click 'Get Started' to initiate the setup.

Step C2b: Sign in to your myZyxel account or create a new one. If you already have an account, enter your email address and password, then click 'Sign in'.

Step C2c: The setup wizard will guide you through creating an organization and a site (location). Follow the on-screen prompts to complete this process.

Step C2d: To enable Nebula management for the switch, you will need to enter the switch's MAC address and Serial Number. This is typically done by adding the device within the Nebula interface.

Device Back Label: The device back label contains important information such as the LAN MAC address and Serial Number, which are required for cloud management setup. A QR code may also be present.

Configuration Options

Two primary methods are available for configuring the switch:

Option 1: Configure with ZON Utility for DHCP Environment

W1: Connect the switch and your computer to the same network that has a DHCP server. Use the ZON utility to discover the switch. Select the switch and click the 'Web GUI' icon to access its web configurator.

W2: After discovering the switch with the ZON utility, select it and click the 'Web GUI' icon. This will open the device's web management interface.

W3: In the device management interface, you will typically log in using default credentials (e.g., User Name: admin, Password: 1234) and then click 'Login'.

Option 2: Configure with Switch Default Static IP

Step 1: Connect the switch to your computer using an Ethernet cable. The switch will have a default static IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1).

Step 2: Open a web browser on your computer and enter the switch's static IP address (e.g., http://192.168.1.1). Your computer should be on the same subnet (e.g., 192.168.1.2 ~ 192.168.1.254).

Step 3: Log in to the device management interface using the default credentials.

Step 4: Once logged in, you will access the device management interface.

Nebula Cloud Management Integration: To have Nebula manage the switch, navigate to Basic Setting > Cloud Management > Nebula Control Center Discovery in the Web Configurator. Ensure the 'Active' checkbox is selected and click 'Apply'.
