Product Overview
The front panel of the Blackstar HT-REVERB features several controls for shaping the reverb effect. Prominently displayed are the TIME, TONE, DWELL, and LEVEL rotary knobs, each with a scale from 0 to 10. The EFFECT selector knob allows choosing between different reverb types: ROOM, HALL, BRIGHT HALL, PLATE, SPRING, ARENA, REVERSE, and GATE. A central section highlights the "PURE VALVE REVERB" with visible vacuum tubes. Below this are the ON footswitch and the MODE footswitch, labeled SHORT/LONG.
Two Modes
Manual and Short/Long modes
These modes offer maximum playing flexibility.
Manual Mode
In Manual Mode, the Time control sets the reverb decay length. The footswitch is inactive, and its associated LED is off.
Short/Long Mode
The footswitch toggles between preset short (indicated by a green LED) and long (indicated by a red LED) reverb times for live flexibility.
TONE TIP
To change between Manual and Short/Long modes, simply hold down the MODE footswitch for 1 second.
Dwell Control
By adjusting the drive to the high voltage valve circuit in the effect side chain, the Dwell control affects the amount of valve compression and harmonics present in the effect.
Dwell Setting 1: Dwell knob at 0, green LED illuminated. Description: "Clean valve sound."
Dwell Setting 2: Dwell knob at an intermediate position, orange LED illuminated. Description: "Effect becomes denser and richer in valve compression and harmonics."
Dwell Setting 3: Dwell knob at a higher position, red LED illuminated. Description: "Effected sound has a mild crunchy valve sound."
