Product Description
The Leviton Cat. No. ODD10-ID is a Wall Switch and Dimming Occupancy Sensor designed for use with 0-10V ballasts. It utilizes Passive Infrared (PIR) detection technology to monitor a room for occupancy through a segmented lens, which divides the field of view into sensor zones. When a person moves between zones, the sensor detects motion and switches the lights ON. Lighting levels can be manually adjusted using the dimming bar. The lights remain ON as long as occupancy is detected. The ODD10-ID can be programmed for vacancy mode (Manual ON/Auto OFF) for applications requiring Manual ON switching, such as Title 24. The sensor offers a 180° field of view with a maximum coverage area of approximately 1100 square feet. The maximum sensing distance is 30-40 feet in front and 15-20 feet to the sides. A "minor motion" zone detects small body movements, keeping lights ON even with minimal movement, while the "major motion" zone requires larger movements. Configuration can be done via push-button setup for popular preconfigured options or through the Leviton Smart Sensor App for advanced settings like daylighting. The sensor's surfaces feature an antimicrobial additive to inhibit the growth of mold, mildew, and odor-causing bacteria.
Before Installation
- Install into any single gang device wallbox. Supports multi-gang installations.
- Ivory, light almond, black, red, and gray faceplates are available with a color change kit (sold separately).
- Decora® wallplate not included.
FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE:
The ODD10-ID sensor lens creates numerous detection zones. The sensor is sensitive to body heat. For triggering, heat sources must move between zones. The device is most effective sensing motion across its field of view, less so towards or away from it. Consider this when choosing an installation location. Occupancy sensors react to rapid temperature changes; avoid mounting near climate control sources (radiators, air exchanges, air conditioners) as drafts can trigger the sensor. Mount at least 6 ft away from climate control sources. Also, avoid mounting directly under large light sources (over 100W incandescent) as their heat and switching can affect the sensor. Mount at least 6 ft away from large bulbs, or use lower wattage bulbs directly overhead if closer mounting is necessary.
0-10V CONTROL WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
For 0-10V Control Wiring: connect the Violet wire to the + 0-10V line and the Pink wire to the 0-10V common using Class 1 or Class 2 wiring methods as indicated in these instructions, ballast/fixture/driver instructions, or ballast/fixture/driver label markings. Observe all requirements of any authority having jurisdiction with respect to wire type, sleeving, isolation methods, and the like.
NOTE: Depending on date of manufacture, the pink 0-10V wire may be gray.
Installation
WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER at circuit breaker or fuse and test that power is off before wiring!
- Strip wires 0.75 in and connect as per wiring diagram. Ensure wires are firmly attached and there is no exposed copper.
- Gently place the wires and your device into the wall box and attach with screws provided.
- If desired, change switch color. (Sold separately.)
- Restore power and test ON/OFF operation. Locator light should be ON when switch is in the OFF state.
- Install Decora wallplate (not included).
- ODD10-ID is designed to work and be fully functional right out of the box; settings can be adjusted using the Leviton Smart Sensor App or simple push button programming.
- Using the Leviton Smart Sensor App or push button programming, configure the sensor to your preferred settings. The Leviton Smart Sensor App is downloadable from Google Play™ or the Apple App Store® for any Bluetooth™ enabled Android™ or iOS Device. Operating mode, sensor sensitivity, and sensor timeout can be quickly adjusted. For more advanced settings like daylighting and nightlight configuration, the Leviton Smart Sensor App is required.
Operation
PUSH-BUTTON: The ODD10-ID has a push button switch to toggle lights ON or OFF. In Auto ON / Auto OFF mode, lights turn ON automatically when occupancy is detected and OFF automatically after the timeout expires. In Manual ON / Auto OFF mode, lights only turn ON when the push button is pressed; they turn OFF automatically after the timeout expires. If lights are ON, pressing the button turns them OFF. The lights remain OFF until the timeout expires, then turn ON with the next detected motion. This is useful for presentations.
DIMMING BAR: Manually dim lights up or down by pressing the dimming bar. Press DOWN to dim and UP to brighten.
NOTES:
- The Motion Indicator light will blink RED for 1 second each time motion is detected.
- In Manual ON mode, the button must be pressed to turn lights ON. In the absence of motion, the unit will time out and turn lights OFF.
Configuration and Programming
The ODD10-ID Sensor operates with default settings out of the box. Settings can be changed and the product further configured using the Leviton Smart Sensor App (downloadable from Google Play™ or the Apple App Store® for any Bluetooth™ enabled Android™ or iOS Device).
- Using the Leviton Smart Sensor App:
- To pair: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2-5 seconds. Release the button when the light behind the PIR lens blinks BLUE. Open the Leviton Smart Sensor App and connect to the device. Devices can be identified in the app to confirm connection to the correct sensor.
- App functions: Set operating mode (Auto ON/Auto OFF [default] or Manual ON/Auto OFF), adjust sensor sensitivity for coverage area based on room size (100% for spaces up to 1100 sq ft), adjust timeouts, activate and configure the night light (including color), configure dimming levels (partial ON/OFF), add daylighting and set target levels, set a security code, and access additional settings.
- Push-button commands (for installers without Bluetooth access):
- Remove the wall plate. Pinch the sides of the sensor near the bottom tabs to release the front cover.
- With the front faceplate removed, push both buttons on the front of the sensor simultaneously for 10-15 seconds. (Note: after 5 seconds, a light will blink BLUE, then alternate BLUE and RED). Release when the Locator Light blinks GREEN.
- Push the bottom button to cycle through automatic settings using the provided table.
- When the desired setting is reached, press and hold the bottom button for 5 seconds until the GREEN LOCATOR light turns ON. Release the button; the light will flash the number of times corresponding to the selected setting, saving the configuration.
- Reattach the front cover by inserting the top tabs and pushing in the bottom tabs.
Multi-Device Systems (3-way, 4-way, etc.)
Additional Smart Wallbox Sensors can be added for multi-location control. Devices can be linked using Leviton's Push to Pair (P2P) technology for a system of up to 5 devices.
- Ensure all devices are powered ON and can control their own load (additional devices can act as remotes without load control).
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button of one device for 15 seconds until the LED blinks YELLOW. (Note: After 5 seconds, the light behind the PIR lens blinks BLUE, then alternates BLUE/RED before blinking YELLOW).
- The network is created when the device blinks BLUE/YELLOW. Wait for this indication before adding other devices. If multiple devices are already in the network, they will all blink BLUE/YELLOW when the network is opened.
- Go to the additional device(s) to be joined and press the ON/OFF button until the LED blinks YELLOW.
- Repeat for other devices (max 5).
- Pairing is complete when the LED on the newly added device(s) blinks BLUE/YELLOW and the load turns ON.
About Push to Pair (P2P):
- Pairing takes about 30 seconds; the enrollment process times out after 2 minutes. Retry if unsuccessful.
- If the ON/OFF button is not released while the LED blinks YELLOW (15-20 seconds), the LED will blink RED (20-25 seconds). Release and restart.
- Additional devices do not need to be on the same circuit and can act as remotes.
- For multi-location control, additional sensors expand zone capacity; sensitivity can be configured per device.
- Add devices anytime by repeating the process.
- To remove a device, reset Bluetooth per Configuration and Programming instructions.
- If pairing fails, try resetting Bluetooth for each device.
