Installer Set-Up

The installer can configure various parameters to optimize the thermostat's performance for specific heating systems and user needs. Accessing installer set-up mode involves pressing the OFF button, then holding the INFO button and the two program buttons ('<' and '>') simultaneously.

Specific Applications Configuration:

Application Cycle/Hour Setting Minimum ON Time (minutes) Notes / Required Changes
Heating - Gas Boilers (<30KW) 6 1 No action required
Oil Boiler 3 4 Set Minimum ON Time to 4 minutes; Set Cycle/Hour to 3.
Thermal Actuator 12 1 Set Cycle/Hour to 12.
Zone valve 6 1 No action required.
Electric heating (<5A) 12 1 Set Cycle/Hour to 12.

Special Features Configuration:

Feature Description Installer Set-Up Parameter
AM-PM/24hr Display Change display format (default 24hr). Set parameter n.1, category 1 to 12 for AM/PM.
Pump Exercise Switches the relay on for 1 minute at 12:00 if not activated since the previous day. Operates during Holiday mode if enabled. Set parameter n.5, category 2 to 1.
Upper Temperature Limit Adjustable from default 35°C down to 21°C for energy saving, useful for rental properties. Set parameter n.6, category 1 to the desired limit (21-34°C).
Lower Temperature Limit Adjustable from default 5°C up to 21°C for comfort, especially for elderly, children, or disabled. Set parameter n.7, category 1 to the desired limit (6-21°C).
Temperature Offset Allows adjustment of the displayed temperature by +/- 3°C to match other appliance readings or compensate for location. Set parameter n.12, category 1 to the desired offset value (-3 to +3°C).
Proportional Band Width Adjustable from default 1.5°C up to 3°C for improved temperature control and reduced overshoot, suitable for well-insulated homes or air systems. Set parameter n.13, category 1 to the desired value (1.6-3.0°C).

Dimensions and Installation

Dimensions

The thermostat measures approximately 133 mm (width) x 88.5 mm (height) x 26 mm (depth). When the battery compartment flap is open, the height increases to approximately 175 mm.

[Diagram description: Three views of the thermostat are shown: front view showing the screen and buttons, side view showing depth, and a rear view showing the backplate with wiring terminals and battery compartment.]

Installation Location

The CM707 thermostat should be located in a position with good air circulation, at an average room temperature, and on an inside wall, approximately 1.5 metres above the floor. Avoid placing it near heat sources (radiators, hot air vents, TVs, lights), doors, windows, or in direct sunlight.

Mounting

The CM707 can be mounted directly onto a wall surface or into an electrical wall box.

Wiring

The CM707 is designed for fixed wiring and must be installed according to the latest I.E.E. regulations. Wiring connections must use a fuse rated at no more than 5 amps and a Class "A" switch with contact separation of at least 3 mm in all poles.

Important Notes for Installers:

Wiring Diagrams

The document includes several wiring diagrams illustrating connections for different heating system configurations. These diagrams show connections between the CM707 thermostat, a CM700 unit (likely a receiver or interface), and various heating system components like boilers, pumps, and zone valves. The diagrams typically show mains power input (24-230V), connections to the thermostat's terminals (e.g., L, N, A, B, C), and outputs to controlled devices.

[Diagram description: Example wiring shows a 24-230V supply connected to a CM700, which then connects to the CM707. Another diagram shows a CM707 connected to a CM700, which controls a pump and a boiler via specific terminals.]
