1. Introduction
Welcome! Thank you for purchasing the DN9630 AES50 to USB 2.0 Converter! The DN9630 provides a multichannel interface between AES50 networks and your computer. Once the DN9630 is connected to your computer, proprietary software allows you to exchange both audio and AES50 control commands across the network.

About this manual
This is the operation manual for the DN9630 AES50 to USB 2.0 Converter. This manual is intended to help get your unit installed and in operation as quickly as possible by giving you unpacking, installation, connection, setting up and operating instructions. To help familiarise you with the DN9630, there is a description of the front and rear panels, along with easy-to-follow user instructions.
2. Getting Started
This section shows you how to unpack, install, connect up, switch on and configure the DN9630 AES50 to USB 2.0 Converter.
Important Safety Notice: This equipment is supplied by a mains voltage that can cause electric shock injury. Before installing, setting up or operating this equipment, make sure that you have read and fully understand all of this section and the "Important safety instructions" at the front of this manual. Refer to additional safety information on the top cover of the unit. ⚡️
Unpacking
Carefully unpack your DN9630 unit. Then, inspect the DN9630 unit carefully for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit, and then notify the courier immediately if you do discover any damage.
Check the contents of your DN9630 unit equipment package. If there are any parts missing, incorrect or faulty, please contact your local distributor or KLARK TEKNIK at the address at the front of this manual.
Please retain the original packing in case you should need to return the equipment to the manufacturer or supplier, or transport or ship the unit later.
Before installing, setting up or operating this equipment, make sure you have read and fully understand all of the "IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS" at the front of this document.
Installation
Before installing and operating this equipment, make sure it is correctly connected to the protective earth conductor of the mains voltage supply. Ideally a cool area is preferred, away from power distribution equipment or other potential sources of interference.
Do not install the equipment in places of poor ventilation. Do not install this equipment in a location subjected to excessive heat, dust or mechanical vibration. Allow for adequate ventilation around the equipment. Whenever possible, keep the equipment out of direct sunlight.
Power
The DN9630 is powered via USB from a computer USB connection. Make sure the plug fitted on the supplied USB cable is securely fitted to the USB port on the unit. When fitting or removing a plug, always hold the plug itself and never use the cable, as this may damage it. Never insert or remove an electric plug with wet hands.
Handling the equipment
When lifting or moving the equipment, always take its size and weight into consideration. Completely isolate the equipment electrically and disconnect all cables from the equipment before moving it.
Electric fields
In accordance with Part 15 of the FCC Rules & Regulations, "... changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment." Should this product be used in an electromagnetic field that is amplitude modulated by an audio frequency signal (20 Hz to 20 kHz), the signal to noise ratio may be degraded. Degradation of up to 60 dB at a frequency corresponding to the modulation signal may be experienced under extreme conditions (3 V/m, 90% modulation).

The DN9630 unit uses the following leads and connectors:

3. Front Panel
A diagram shows the front panel of the DN9630. Key components are labeled:
- 1. Green AES50 status LED: Indicates proper functioning when lit.
- 2. AES50 connection: Compatible with Neutrik etherCON.
- 3. Red AES50 status LED: Indicates an error with the port connection when lit.
- 4. Sample Rate switch: Selects between 96 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates.
- 5. Control Data: Transmits AES50 control commands between a computer and the DN9630 separately from audio data.
- 6. USB input: Transfers audio data between computer and the DN9630. The USB connection also supplies power to the unit.
- 7. Power LED: Lights to indicate the unit is powered on.
4. Operation
Control Software
The DN9630 ships with proprietary control software that allows you to transmit audio and AES50 control data between your computer and your AES50-equipped digital sound system. The latest control software can be downloaded from the DN9630 product page on the KLARK TEKNIK website: music-group.com/brand/klarkteknik/home
To install the software, download the installer from the KLARK TEKNIK website, click on the download, and follow the installation instructions.
Minimum Hardware and Operating System Requirements
Here are the minimum hardware and operating system requirements to install and run the control software on your PC or Mac:
