EXPERIENCE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Pressure on margins, regulatory demands, and skills shortages create a challenging environment for terminal operators. Accurate data is essential for managing liquid inventory and supporting decisions to improve performance and reduce costs. Best-in-class tank management and custody transfer technology are indispensable for reducing inventory uncertainties, increasing operator efficiency, and minimizing product losses.

The new ENTIS Inventory System is built on the proven Experion® platform, offering enhanced operational control. This Honeywell solution is backed by over half a century of experience in tank gauging and inventory management. ENTIS is trusted globally, with more than 2,000 installations. It is a powerful, modular, and user-friendly system suitable for all types of distribution and bulk terminals, providing industry-leading accuracy, flexible options, and advanced security features.

System Evolution: A timeline illustrates the development from the 1965 Datalogger through Minilect and Microlect Tank Gauging Systems to the 2019 ENTIS, Powered by Experion and Connected by Experion Elevate, highlighting Entis Pro as a key offering. The system supports over 2,000 installations worldwide.

FLEXIBLE ARCHITECTURE FOR STREAMLINED OPERATIONS

The ENTIS system features a unique, flexible architecture for faultless operation. It integrates with the dedicated Communication Interface Unit, CIU 888, via Modbus TCP/IP. The CIU 888 retrieves and processes data from field devices and systems, continuously scanning, calculating, and monitoring. Reliable data is consistently provided to various applications, supporting operators with dedicated tasks within ENTIS, enabling safe and efficient tank farm operations.

System Integration: The architecture diagram shows Ethernet connectivity for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control and Supervision (DCS) systems to the ENTIS Inventory System. ENTIS connects via Modbus TCP/IP to a Communication Interface Unit (CIU 888), which interfaces with field devices through Fieldbus. Supported field devices include SmartRadar Tank Gauging, Servo Tank Gauging, Honeywell Enraf BPM, HIMS Hybrid, and HTG Hydrostatic, illustrating data flow from field devices to the central system.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT THAT WORKS FOR YOU

Operating an oil storage terminal demands constant focus on safety and efficiency. Honeywell's ENTIS system provides accurate and secure inventory data, enabling overfill and leak detection, preventing potential disasters, and protecting people and the environment. It also helps reduce costs, increase efficiency, and improve profits.

A FLEXIBLE ANSWER

Based on a modular approach, ENTIS offers a wide range of capabilities, customizable displays, and report templates to meet operator needs. It supports bespoke functions and can manage from a single tank up to 400 tanks on a tank farm, catering to multiple locations and diverse gauges and interfaces. ENTIS easily accommodates expansions and changes, delivering performance and value throughout its lifecycle.

AN INTEGRATED APPROACH

Honeywell Enraf's tank inventory systems utilize open standards for enhanced integration. Open connectivity ensures seamless integration of existing field equipment, while standardized host interfaces link to control systems and business domain packages for advanced resource planning and asset management.

PROTECTING YOUR PEOPLE

Terminal solutions from Honeywell help maintain safe operations, protecting personnel, assets, and the environment. Accurate and secure inventory data prevents overfills, facilitates leak detection, and averts disasters. ENTIS features a reliable alarm system for programming set points and custom alarms. Alarm suppression prevents operator overload from single-point failures. A leak detection mode monitors tanks during inactive periods, using temperature-corrected volume measurements for accurate readings, thereby increasing plant safety and reducing costs associated with false alarms.

KEEPING YOU COMPLIANT

ENTIS displays API and ASTM compliant inventory data, measured and calculated by the CIU. Weights and Measures-certified applications for custody transfer, accounting, and duties provide comprehensive reporting functions in the required format and frequency. ENTIS maintains accurate records, easing the compliance burden, and adheres to Cyber Security standards.

DESIGNED FOR HUMANS

Technology should simplify operations. ENTIS is an intuitive, easy-to-use, web-based solution with a logical, self-explanatory interface. Clear color-coded tank displays instantly inform operators about tank filling or emptying status. Graphical displays offer quick overviews of tank status, and high-resolution numerical read-outs provide accurate real-time data. Simple configuration and multiple graphical interfaces allow for customized tank displays. ENTIS offers a straightforward yet powerful approach to reduce installation costs, training time, and enhance efficiency and safety.

Interface Visualization: The ENTIS interface displays a list of tanks (e.g., TK001 Petrol, TK003 Ethanol) with current volume (TOV) and status indicators. It also shows an event log with an alert for a "TASK FAILED." The display uses color-coding for tank status.

UNIQUE INTEGRATED CONCEPT

ENTIS interfaces simultaneously with a wide range of common field protocols, providing data from across your terminal or even different sites globally. All data is effortlessly accessible with a single click.

ENTIS GIVES YOU THE DATA YOU NEED:

  • Detailed: Data presented according to your needs and site policy.
  • Available: In real-time from across the terminal and effortlessly accessible.
  • Transparent: Secure and instantly verifiable for auditors and others.
  • Accurate: Precise data for efficient and confident planning and better use of resources.

Interface Display: Two computer monitors showcase the Honeywell ENTIS interface. The left monitor displays a "Group View" with tank lists, status (e.g., "Moving up," "Not moving"), product, and volume. The right monitor shows a "Tank Details" view with specific information like product level, temperature, density, and corrections.

ENDLESSLY ADAPTABLE

ENTIS offers extensive functionalities for day-to-day Terminal Inventory Operations. Various screens provide dynamic tank level, tabular details, tank icons, density profiling, and temperature profiling for trending, reports, and tank calculations. Vital information is always just one click away.
