Instruction for Use

Soft contact lenses are made from polymer materials and are designed to be worn directly on the eye to correct vision problems, such as myopia and hyperopia, as well as for cosmetic purposes.

Opti-color lenses are manufactured using an NS process (Sandwich process) which inserts color into contact lenses. This process provides comfort by minimizing surface roughness and prevents discoloration.

Key Principle: Cleanliness is the first and most important aspect of proper contact lens care. Always ensure your hands are clean and free of foreign substances when handling your lenses.

Indication for Use

Opti-color (Polymacon) spherical soft contact lenses are indicated for the optical correction of refractive ametropia (Myopia and hyperopia) in persons with non-diseased eyes, and for beauty purposes by changing IRIS colors or making the IRIS appear larger.

Contact lenses offer optical, therapeutic, preventive, diagnostic, operative, cosmetic, and occupational benefits. Their performance depends on wettability, water content, oxygen permeability, transmission, light transmission, refractive index, resistance to temperature, dimensions, and flexural stability.

Opti-color lenses are made of polymacon (Hydrogel). An ideal contact lens should be biocompatible, gas permeable, have good optical properties and tolerance, be mouldable, sterile, stable, and have good surface chemistry.

How to Use

1.1 Preparing the Lens for Wearing

  • Always wash your hands thoroughly with mild soap, rinse completely, and dry with a lint-free towel before touching your lenses.
  • Avoid soaps containing cold cream, lotion, or oily cosmetics, as these can interfere with wearing.
  • Handle lenses with your fingertips. Keep fingernails short and smooth.
  • Do not use if the packaging is damaged.

1.2 How to Wear a Lens

In wearing:

  1. Rinse the lens with a physiological saline solution.
  2. Place the lens on the index finger of your right hand.
  3. Use the middle finger of the same hand to pull down your lower eyelid.
  4. Use the middle finger of your other hand to pull up your upper eyelid to widen your eye.
  5. Slowly approach the lens towards your cornea and attach it lightly while looking in a mirror.
  6. Do not close your eye.
  7. Once the lens is correctly attached, slowly remove the finger used to widen the eyelid.

In removing:

  1. Locate the lens on your eye by looking in a mirror.
  2. Raise your upper eyelid with the finger of your left hand.
  3. Lower your lower eyelid with the middle finger of your right hand.
  4. Gently pinch the lower part of the lens with your thumb and index finger of your right hand to remove it.

Storage and Management after Using a Lens

Cleanliness

  • Place a lens on your palm, add two or three drops of lens cleaner, and rub gently with a fingertip.
  • Rinse the lens with plenty of physiological saline solution.
  • Store the lenses in their respective storage cases filled with physiological saline solution or a lens preservative solution. Ensure solutions are not mixed or exchanged.

Note: Don't forget the lens case.

Case hygiene is as important as lens hygiene and the case must be replaced regularly (at least every three months).

Clean your case daily with a disinfecting solution and allow it to air dry, following your practitioner's recommendations.

Use only recommended care solutions for cleaning, rinsing, and disinfecting.
