Note: Vehicles are homologated in accordance with the new type approval procedure WLTP (Regulation (EU) 2017/1151; Regulation (EC) 715/2007). From the 1st January 2021 CO2 figures shown are derived solely from the WLTP test.

Electric Technology

The Ford Kuga offers advanced electric engine options to suit various driving needs.

Hybrid (FHEV)

Hybrid vehicles combine a conventional engine with an electric motor, allowing for automatic switching between power sources for optimal efficiency. The Kuga FHEV features a 1.1kW battery for short-term electric propulsion, enhancing power and reducing CO2 footprint.

Charging the battery (Hybrid):

• Regenerative braking captures energy during deceleration to recharge the battery.
• The conventional engine powers a generator that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.
• All electric vehicle types utilize regenerative braking.

Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV)

Plug-In Hybrids offer the benefits of a hybrid with a larger high-voltage battery, enabling longer all-electric driving ranges. The Kuga PHEV has a 14.4 kWh battery, providing an EV range of up to 56 km, with a combined average fuel economy of 1.0l/100km and CO2 emissions of 22 g/km.

Charging the battery (Plug-In Hybrid):

• The larger battery can be plugged in to charge.
• Once the battery is depleted, the vehicle operates as a conventional hybrid.

Electric Range:

The electric range varies from short journeys (less than 5 miles) to longer journeys (50-300 miles), depending on the driving conditions and vehicle type (Full Hybrid vs. Plug-In Hybrid).

Plug-in Charging Options:

• 230V Wall outlet: Standard household sockets can charge the battery in approximately 6 hours.
• Ford Connected Wall Box Charger: For faster home charging, a wallbox can fully recharge the Kuga in 3-3.5 hours.
• Public charging stations: Available in various locations, with varying prices and charging capabilities.

Fuel Consumption

The Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) is used to determine fuel consumption and CO2 figures, providing more representative results of real-world driving.

Note: The declared Fuel/Energy Consumptions, CO2-Emissions and Electric range are determined according to the technical requirements and specifications of the European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EU) 2017/1151 as last amended. WLTP is a new, more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions and has fully replaced NEDC in 2020.

VRT Category A (EU Classification M1)

Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) is calculated based on CO2 emissions. The table below outlines the VRT rates and Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) Emission Levy.

NOTE: The NOx levy will be applied to all VRT category A vehicles (passenger and SUVs). This new tax will replace the 1% VRT Levy on diesel cars and the NOx tax will apply to all new or imported cars from January 1st, 2020.

Customer Order Price Protection

Ford's Price Protection Plan ensures the price remains the same as the order price, provided delivery is accepted within three months of the order date, or as soon as the vehicle is available. VAT

VAT is calculated at 23%. The total vehicle price, including factory-fitted options and dealer-fitted accessories, is subject to VAT on retail sale.

Price Changes
