A solid, level surface is crucial for the subwoofer's optimal function.
System Installation
Connecting a Television
The Sounddeck 160 is designed for direct connection to a TV. Three connection options are available:
- HDMI/ARC: Connect to the TV's HDMI/ARC port (supports Audio Return Channel, HDMI 2.0). If your TV supports CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), basic functions (power, volume, mute) can be controlled via the TV remote. CEC functionality varies by TV model; consult your TV's manual. CEC is only available via HDMI. Dolby Digital signals can be reproduced. HDMI cable not included.
- Optical Digital IN: Connect the TV's digital audio output to the Sounddeck's DIGITAL IN port using the supplied optical cable. Dolby Digital signals can be reproduced.
- AUX IN: Connect the TV's audio output to the Sounddeck's AUX IN port using the supplied audio cable. Prefer a fixed-level audio output if available.
Connecting Other Devices
- Bluetooth Audio Source: Switch the Sounddeck to Bluetooth mode via remote. It will attempt to reconnect to previously paired devices. If no previous pairing exists or reconnection fails, it enters pairing mode automatically. Manually activate pairing mode using the BT PAIR button on the remote. The device will appear as "Sounddeck 160" in your source device's Bluetooth list. If not found, manually search for Bluetooth devices. Pairing may require a password (default: "0000" or "1234"). The Sounddeck supports the aptX audio transmission standard for high-quality audio.
- Analog or Digital Audio Source: Connect CD players, MP3 players, satellite receivers, etc., to the AUX IN or DIGITAL IN ports.
- USB Memory Device: Connect a FAT-formatted USB drive (MP3/WMA files) to the USB port for playback. Control playback using remote buttons. Note: Compatibility with all USB devices and files is not guaranteed. DRM-protected files are not supported. USB power output: 5V=/1A.
