1.1 Owner's manual Before riding the vehicle for the first time, read through this entire manual and make sure you fully understand it. Contact service@ridecake.com if any questions. The manual contains useful and important information on how to operate, service, and customize the vehicle, and protect yourself from injury. This manual is being updated continuously. Make sure you have the latest version; visit ridecake.com/manuals. If the owner sells the vehicle, the manual is part of the purchase.

1.6 Safety advice Tampering warning Tampering with the vehicle is prohibited, or safe operation cannot be guaranteed, and the warranty coverage will become void.

Safe operation Each of the below safety instructions is repeated where relevant.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
Do not use the vehicle if you are not fit to ride due to alcohol, drugs, or medicine.
Do not use the vehicle if you are physically or mentally impaired.
Do not ride with a passenger unless you have installed a proper CAKE passenger seat, see ridecake.com/en/products/spare-parts/.
The vehicle is completely silent when it has been powered on but is at a standstill. Anyone not realizing the vehicle is powered on may get hurt if the throttle is accidentally twisted. Do not forget to power o .
There is no foot brake. Remember that you control both the rear and front brakes from the handlebar.
When slowing down using the motor brake, other road users are not notified of your slowing down. Use the motor brake with caution. Always use the mechanical brakes to bring the vehicle to a standstill.
When charging, always first connect the charger to the battery. Thereafter, connect the charger to the mains supply.
Safe charging cannot be guaranteed if another charger or battery than the intended is used. Only use the intended charger. Only use the intended battery.
Regularly examine the charger for any damages, especially the cord, plug, and enclosure. Do not use a damaged charger. Contact CAKE Service & support.
During charging, place the battery in a well-ventilated area.

CAUTION! Do not leave the battery unattended during charging. Never ride the vehicle above your comfort level. Always ride according to your riding skills. · Make sure you have the correct driving license to ride the vehicle. · Follow the local traffic laws and regulations. · Adhere to the vehicle warning labels. · Only operate the vehicle for its intended use. · Always operate the vehicle in a safe manner for people, animals,
and the environment. · Only operate the vehicle when it is in perfect technical condition. · Always wear a helmet and appropriate clothing. · Always use Ride mode 1 when riding a CAKE bike for the first time. · Ride mode 3, is recommended for highly skilled riders.
Accident/damaged vehicle
WARNING! Fire hazard. Do not use a damaged battery, as it is highly flammable. A damaged battery may self-ignite. If the vehicle should catch fire, inform the fire brigade that it is an electrical vehicle with a lithium battery. After an accident or fall, check the vehicle for any damages. Do not ride the vehicle if it requires service. If in doubt, do not ride the vehicle but contact CAKE Service & support.

Service and work on the vehicle
DANGER! Risk of electric shock. · Do not open the battery. · Do not open the charger. · Work on the battery and charger must only be performed by an
authorized CAKE workshop. · Remove the battery before starting any work on the vehicle.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury. If another brake fluid than the stated is used, the brakes may cease to function. Only use the stated brake fluid DOT3 or DOT4.
CAUTION! The electrical components of the vehicle may be damaged if cleaned improperly. This may in turn cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or other property. Do not flush the vehicle with water. Do not use a pressure washer or a water hose to clean the vehicle/battery. NOTICE When the battery is not connected to the vehicle or the charger, the battery must be stored indoors. Otherwise, humidity may enter through the inlet and permanently damage the battery.

NOTICE When cleaning the bike always use the cover battery connector. If not used water might damage the bike. Service the vehicle according to the service schedule. Do not drop the battery, or it may be permanently damaged.

Spare parts and accessories For safety reasons, only use spare parts and accessories recommended by CAKE. CAKE accepts no liability for any damage or loss caused by other spare parts or accessories. Disposal
Dispose of used parts and material in a safe way, respecting the environment and local laws and regulations, e.g., oil, other auxiliary fluids, and components. It is prohibited to dispose of electrical devices, such as the charger and the battery in the household waste. Dispose of electrical devices in local recycling centers. Aluminum parts are marked with their aluminum quality, such as "6061" or "7075". Dispose of it accordingly. Because motorcycles are not subject to the EU regulations governing the disposal of used vehicles, there are no legal regulations that pertain to the disposal of an end-of-life motorcycle. Please, contact CAKE if you need support in this matter.

2. Warranty
Only authorized CAKE workshops may perform work on the vehicle where this is required by this manual, or the warranty will be void. The warranty does not cover damage or secondary damage caused by vehicle tampering. The warranty does not cover unintended use.
3. Getting started
3.1 Unboxing the vehicle
1. Unbox, see the instruction video on https://ridecake.com/en/bukk-manualsand-videos The delivery from CAKE includes: 1x Preassembled CAKE BUKK Limited 1x Battery charger 1x toolsets for final assembly and to retighten spoke nipple
2. Once unpacked, recycle packaging in accordance with local laws and regulations.

3.2 Preparing for use
WARNING! When charging, always first connect the charger to the battery. Thereafter, connect the charger to the mains supply. · Charge the battery to 100%, i.e., until the charger LED is steady green, see
Charging the battery (5.1 Handling the battery) (Due to shipping regulations, the battery state of charge is low during transport.) · Check that the handlebar is properly fastened. If needed, adjust the handlebar angle to optimize rider comfort. · Check that the front wheel is properly fastened, see Fig. 3. · On both sides of the vehicle, check that the screw is tightened, (A) in Fig. 3. · On both sides of the vehicle, check that the 2 screws are tightened, (B) in Fig. 3. · Check that the rear wheel is properly fastened, see Fig. 3. · On both sides of the vehicle, check that the screw is tightened, (C) in Fig. 3. · On both sides of the vehicle, check that the screw is tightened, (D) in Fig. 3.

· Check that the Bodywork is properly fastened. If needed, adjust the clamping force. in Fig. 3.1.

applicable laws. 3.3 Powering on 1. Plug the battery cable into the battery, see Fig.4.

2. Plug in the kill switch, Fig. 4.5. The kill switch is located on the right side of the handlebar. When the kill switch is connected with the magnet, the bike is turned on. When you are done riding or in case of an emergency, pull the kill switch to turn o the bike. The vehicle is activated and unlocked.

ALWAYS wear the kill switch strap around your wrist when riding. This is to prevent further damage to the rider, the vehicle or other property. When falling, losing control or feeling unsafe, release your right hand from the handlebar and pull it back, this will disconnect the kill switch and turn the bike o . ALWAYS disconnect the kill switch when not riding. As the bike makes no noise when on standby mode, it's impossible for bystanders to know if the bike is on or not. This can cause accidents if people are pulling the throttle while expecting a turned o bike. 3. To change ride mode, turn the knob to the left on the dashboard to the
wanted ride mode, see Fig. 6. In order to change the mode to customized mode: use the CAKE Connect app, Downloading the CAKE Connect app. 4. To change brake mode, turn the knob to the right on the dashboard to the wanted brake mode, see Fig. 6. 5. Get ready for your first Bukk ride

3.4 Downloading the CAKE Connect app Download the app to access features, and to make vehicle customizations
1. In App Store or Google Play, search Ridecake and download the CAKE app. 2. Create an account and then connect your bike using the Connectivity ID
that you received in an email at the vehicle delivery. 3. Power on the vehicle, see Powering on. 4. Once logged in, standing by the vehicle, enable Bluetooth on your mobile
device. 5. When asked to pair with Cake, answer Yes. => The vehicle is connected to
your mobile device. You can start using the below app features. · Battery level check · Adjust ride modes · Advanced ride modes · Track rides · Troubleshooting · Bike movement, vehicle location/GPS · Metric change on display
3.5 Overview of App functions
Battery level check Your main battery state of charge is available for your convenience in the app.
Adjust ride modes Your bike supports di erent ride modes to tune the riding experience to your preference.
These ride modes are tuned to allow for maximum reach, maximum efficiency or maximum power when the bike is delivered.
In the app you can change the tuning of all ridemodes to whatever suits your riding style.

Advanced ride modes
NOTE: The following applies to bikes equipped with the feature `Advanced ride modes'. Advance ride modes let you go deeper into your bike settings to customize the riding experience even further.
· Adjust throttle sensitivity to allow for more aggressive response perfect for MX-style riding or gentler response that fits a muddy trail on rainy forest
· Adjust your throttle response delay to make you feel every little input on the throttle instantly be delivered to your back wheel or use a more forgiving setting for a smoother experience
· Adjust the traction control to optimize the power delivery to fit dry or slippery surfaces
Track rides When your bike is unlocked you can choose to track your ride using the record button on the main page. This will save your ride data in your app.
Troubleshooting If you experience a problem with your bike or detect an error code in your display you can use the diagnostic section in your app, found in the bottom of the home screen, to see detailed information of the reported error.
Bike movement, vehicle location/GPS Your bike is equipped with satellite location tracking. The location is reported via cellular connection and forwarded to your app. The tracking unit has a backup battery installed that will ensure location is collected and reported even if you remove the main battery.
Keep in mind that this backup battery is limited and to ensure continued operation of the tracking functionality please connect the main battery once a week and keep it connected for at least an hour (for example during a ride).
NOTE: Satellite tracking requires a clear view of the sky and that the bike cannot report an accurate location if the bike is parked in an underground garage for example.
The app will always tell you when your location shown in the app was collected.

4.3 Dashboard The dashboard on the stem is the bike's control panel. Here you can see the bikes SOC (state of charge), Power mode, Brake mode and warning notifications

The Blinking error codes should be according to the table below. The general structure of the fault codes should be that the number of blinks occurs then there should be a 3 second delay until the code repeats. The codes should repeat until the vehicle is restarted.

4.4 Ride modes On the knob to the left, you can put the bike into 3 di erent riding modes. Never ride the bike above your comfort level and always ride according to your personal riding skills. We always recommend a new CAKE-rider to start on the first mode to get used to the bike and the di erences between an electric motor and an Internal combustion engine. The 3 di erent ride modes have di erent attributes in terms of top speed, acceleration, and torque to suit riders of all riding levels, from beginners to professionals.
Ride mode 1 - Explore The ultimate mode for exploration. Speed limited to 60km/h (28mph) and up to 3 hours trail riding. This mode is ALWAYS recommended when riding a CAKE bike for the first time. This power mode still has high torque for rideability o road as well as something for new riders to progress with. This Mode is perfect for tracks where control is more valued than power.
Ride mode 2 - Excite Perfect for enduro, track or active trail riding. O ers up to 1,5h riding time. Top speed 90km/h.
Ride mode 3 - Elevate Overclocked, an invitation to infinity and beyond. Enter Elevate cautiously and be aware that this is not a commercially designed mode and riding time will be reduced. Top speed 90km/h. To not damage the battery power and torque will be limited as the battery heats up. If the battery overheats frequently the battery life time will be reduced.
NOTICE All ride modes and brake modes are configurable in the Ride CAKE app. You can always reset ride mode to factory setting in the app

4.5 Brake modes On the knob to the right, you can put the bike into 3 di erent braking modes. This ranges from a freewheel experience, much of what you feel on an MTB, which is suited for mellow riding on flats, to a hard engine brake, that is similar to the engine brake on a 4-stroke motorcycle, which is suited for technical riding. All the energy from the braking goes back into the battery for extended range.
Brake mode 1 Freewheel, no motor brake. Gives the same sensation as riding a bike, perfect for mellow riding and the ultimate freedom experience.
Brake mode 2 Intermediate motor brake with energy regeneration. As you release the throttle you feel the bike slowing down at a slow pace. This can boost your confidence when riding a bit more technical terrain as you get better control over the bike. The braking power is regenerated to the battery for extra range.
Brake mode 3 Hard motor brake with energy regeneration. When releasing the throttle, the bike will slow down significantly. This could be uncomfortable for novice riders as the braking is quite hard. This brake mode is best suited for technical tracks where full control for the bike is needed. All the braking power is regenerated back to charge the battery for extended range.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury. When slowing down using the motor brake, other road users are not notified of your slowing down. Use the motor brake with caution. Always use the mechanical brakes to bring the vehicle to a standstill.

5. Operating

WARNING! Fire hazard. Do not use a damaged battery, as it is highly flammable. A damaged battery may self-ignite.
NOTICE When the battery is not connected to the vehicle or the charger, the battery must be stored indoors. Otherwise, humidity may enter through the inlet and permanently damage the battery.
Pay close attention to how to handle and care for the battery and charger in a safe way. If the vehicle has not been used for more than 2 weeks, fully charge the battery before riding. The battery can be charged in the two following ways: · Removed from the vehicle. · Attached to the vehicle. However, while charging, the battery must be
disconnected from the vehicle. The battery cannot be connected to the vehicle and charger simultaneously · Storing and charging to optimize the battery life span
WARNING! Risk of personal injury. When charging, always first connect the charger to the battery. Thereafter, connect the charger to the mains supply.
Safe charging cannot be guaranteed if another charger or battery than the intended is used. Only use the intended charger. Only use the intended battery.
Regularly examine the charger for any damages, especially the cord, plug, and enclosure. Do not use a damaged charger. Contact CAKE Service & support.

CAUTION! Do not leave the battery unattended during charging. · As a rule, store the battery indoors. · If the vehicle will not be used for more than 2 weeks; disconnect the
battery cable; store the battery indoors. · Store the battery with a 30%-80% state of charge, or the battery may
permanently lose performance. · Store the battery at 10°-20°C/50°-68°F, or the battery may permanently
lose performance. · If the vehicle is stored indoors and will be used within a week, the battery
may remain in the vehicle, but with the battery cable unplugged. · If the vehicle has not been used for more than 2 weeks, fully charge the
battery before riding. · Do not charge the battery below 0°C/32°F, or the battery may permanently
lose performance.
Checking the battery state of charge (SOC)
To check the battery SOC, do either of the following:
· Push the battery button. => The 5 battery LEDs are activated and indicate the SOC.
· When the vehicle has been activated, see SOC indication on the dashboard. · Check the SOC in the CAKE app.
Charging the battery
1. Disconnect the kill switch. 2. Disconnect the battery connector 3. Plug the charger into the charging connector found on the battery. 4. Plug the charger into the outlet. 5. When the charging is finished, first disconnect the charger from the outlet
and then disconnect the charger from the bike.

Removing the battery and seat NOTICE When the battery is not connected to the vehicle or the charger,
the battery must be stored indoors. Otherwise, humidity may enter through the inlet and permanently damage the battery. If you get water in the connector of your battery. Turn the battery upside down to remove any body of water. Proceed with using pressurized air to blow away any remaining water, or put the battery inside to let it dry completely Removing the battery 1. Remove the seat

2. Disconnect the battery signal cable before lifting up the battery. 3. Carefully remove the battery, or you may cause marks on the frame.

Attaching the battery
1. Place the battery in the battery holder. 2. Attach the battery signal cable. 3. Attach the seat

5.2 Before every ride For your safety, ensure that the vehicle is in perfect technical condition before every ride. (More details go to 6 service schedule) Check the following:

· The brakes function properly. · The tires and wheels are roadworthy. · Check that the throttle can move freely without getting stuck. · The seat clamp is fastened. · The safety pin is fastened · Check the chain

5.3 Starting Before you start the vehicle, please remember that this is an all-electric vehicle that is very silent when it's on. 1. Plug the battery cable into the battery. 2. Plug in the kill switch, in Fig. 12. The kill switch is located on the right side
of the handlebar. When the kill switch is connected with the magnet, the bike is turned on. When you are done riding or in case of an emergency, pull the kill switch to turn o the bike. ALWAYS wear the kill switch strap around your wrist when riding. This is to prevent further damage to the rider, the vehicle or other property. When falling, losing control or feeling unsafe, release your right hand from the handlebar and pull it back, this will disconnect the kill switch and turn the bike o . ALWAYS disconnect the kill switch when not riding. As the bike makes no noise when on standby mode, it's impossible for bystanders to know if the bike is on or not. This can cause accidents if people are pulling the throttle while expecting a turned o bike.

5.5 Changing brake mode Change brake mode by turning the right knob on the dashboard. Configure all brake modes in the CAKE Connect app.
5.6 Changing ride mode When the vehicle is active, change ride mode by turning the left knob on the dashboard. Configure all ride modes in the CAKE Connect app.
5.7 Braking
WARNING! Risk of personal injury. There is no foot brake. Remember that you control both the rear and front brakes from the handlebar.
Apply pressure to the front and rear brake. Apply more pressure on the front/ right, and less on the rear/left.

5.8 Powering o Bring the vehicle to a standstill. Pull the kill switch to turn o the bike. The vehicle is deactivated and turned o . NOTICE CAKE recommends you also use an approved chain and padlock to prevent theft. 5.9 Storing the vehicle NOTICE If the vehicle is stored outdoors, remove the battery, and place the battery indoors, see, Storing and charging (5.1 Handling the battery) to optimize the battery life span.
To avoid unnecessary aging and/or discoloration, store the vehicle in a dry and cool place. CAKE recommends you use the vehicle at least once a month to preserve all vehicle components in good condition. Pay close attention to how to handle and care for the battery in a safe way, see Handling the battery.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem
Powering on/starting
The vehicle does not power on.

Possible cause
The battery signal cable is disconnected. The battery is discharged.

The vehicle is powered on but does not drive when engaging the throttle.
The kill switch is engaged.

The battery is discharged.

Remedy
Connect the battery cable to the vehicle. Charge the battery. If the vehicle has not been used for more than 2 weeks, fully charge the battery.
Connect the killswitch on the right hand controls on the handlebar. Charge the battery. If the vehicle has not been used for more than 2 weeks, fully charge the battery.

There is a noise while riding.
Charger/battery Neither the battery nor the charger light up.
The charger does not light up.

There is a motor issue.

Check if the warning LED shows an error code. Use the CAKE app/ Diagnostics to possibly solve the issue.
Contact an authorized CAKE workshop.

There are loose screws.
There is a motor issue.

Check for loose parts, see Service Manual.
Perform motor tuning according to instructions in the Cake App.

The outlet does not work.

Ensure that the outlet works.

Momentary loose contact.
Battery is warm.
Battery is cold. Other error.

If the battery is charged directly after riding, the battery temperature may be higher than accepted for charging. Let the battery cool for 2 hours and try again.
If the battery has been sitting at sub 0 degrees °C temperatures for some time the battery may be too cold to charge, place the battery inside for 2 hours and try again.

The battery LEDs do not light up when the button on the battery is pressed.

The battery is discharged.

The battery is damaged.

The battery LEDs light up, but the charging still does not work.

Rule out battery error.

The charger LEDs do not light up although the charger is connected to the mains supply.

The charger is not correctly connected to the mains supply.
The mains supply outlet does not work.

Charge the battery. If the vehicle has not been used for more than 2 weeks, fully charge the battery.

Dashboard
The dashboard does not activate when powering on the vehicle.

The dashboard does not show the battery level, although the vehicle starts.

The vehicle's internal communication is not working.

Contact an authorized CAKE workshop.

The dashboard is blinking in weird colors.

The blinking is an error code that can be interpreted in the CAKE app. Most errors indicated by such code must be solved by CAKE.

Use the CAKE app/Diagnostics to possibly solve the issue.
Contact an authorized CAKE workshop.

Suspension, fork, shock

There is oil leakage on the fork suspension sealings.

The bike is stored for too long without being ridden.

Wipe the oil o , test the suspension works normally and see if the leaking disappears.
Contact an authorized CAKE workshop.

There is a gap between the front suspension and the frame.

The headset is not tightened properly/ has become loose.

Check the fork suspension, see Service Manual.
Contact an authorized CAKE workshop.

There is a gap between the shock suspension spring and the adjustment ring. The suspension does not fully dampen impacts.

The adjustment ring of the shock suspension is loose.

Check the shock suspension, see Service Manual.
