Owner's Manual
Introduction
Thank you for choosing a Jensen product. This owner's manual provides clear instructions on how to use all the features of your new Jensen receiver for maximum enjoyment.

Precautions:
- Use the Proper Power Supply: This product is designed for a 12-volt DC, negative ground battery system (standard in North American vehicles).
- Use Authorized Service Centers: Do not attempt to disassemble or adjust this product; contact a professional for assistance.
- Avoid Moisture: Do not expose this equipment to rain or moisture to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock.
- Avoid Cleaning Products: Clean the front of the unit with a slightly damp cloth only; do not use cleansers.
- Use Recommended Accessories: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock and interference, use only recommended accessories.
Packing List
The packing list typically includes the JWM1A unit, various wiring harnesses, mounting hardware, and this manual. A diagram on page 3 shows the unit and its rear connections, including speaker outputs, power, ground, and auxiliary inputs.
Installation
Read all instructions before beginning installation. Professional installation by a reputable RV dealership is recommended.
Tools and Supplies Needed:
- Phillips screwdriver
- Wire cutters and strippers
- Tools to remove existing radio (screwdriver, socket wrench set, etc.)
- Electrical tape
- Crimping tool
- Volt meter/test light
- Crimp connections
- 16 gauge wire for power connections
- 16-18 gauge speaker wire
Disconnecting the Battery:
To prevent a short circuit, turn off the ignition and remove the negative (-) battery cable before installation. Note: If the JWM1A is installed in a vehicle with an on-board drive or navigation computer, do not disconnect the battery cable, as this may cause computer memory loss. Use extra caution during installation in such cases.
Selecting the Mounting Location:
Choose a location that avoids heat-radiating appliances, other heat-radiating equipment, moist or humid conditions, and poorly-ventilated or dusty areas.
Mounting the Radio:
- Use the mounting hole diagram to measure and cut a mounting hole.
- Route power, speakers, AV, and antenna cables through the hole and connect them.
- Check and ensure correct operation.
- Mount the unit using four M3x20mm screws.
- Attach the trim ring.
A diagram on page 4 shows the recommended cutout dimensions for mounting the JWM1A unit, with measurements provided for width, height, and depth. A note advises checking the area behind the mounting hole for wires, fuel, or brake lines.
Wiring
The wiring diagram details all connections required for proper operation. The diagram on page 5 shows the rear panel connectors and pin assignments.

Basic Operation
Power
Press the [power] button (4) to turn the unit on or to enter standby mode.
Volume Control
- Press [volume up] (VOL +) to increase volume. Press and hold to increase continuously.
- Press [volume down] (VOL -) to decrease volume. Press and hold to decrease continuously.
Mode / Menu
Press the [mode/menu] button (7) to switch between radio mode or auxiliary input function. Press and hold the [mode/menu] button (7) to access the menu list.
Audio Adjustment:
- BAS: Adjust Bass level from -7 to +7.
- TRE: Adjust Treble level from -7 to +7.
- BAL: Adjust speaker balance between Left (L7) and Right (R7). "BAL 0" indicates equal balance.
- FAD: Adjust speaker fade between Rear (R7) and Front (F7). "FAD 0" indicates equal balance.
Use the [volume up]/[volume down] buttons to make adjustments.
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Back Light
- Dimmer: Adjust LCD brightness from "LIGHT 9" (brightest) to "LIGHT 0" (off).
Note: In cold temperatures, LCD panels may take longer to illuminate and visibility may decrease. Optimal operation returns as temperature increases.
Sleep Mode
The Sleep Timer automatically turns off the JWM1A after a set number of minutes. To set the Sleep Time, press [volume up]/[volume down] repeatedly to cycle through 0 (off), 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
Setting the Alarm
- Alarm ON/OFF: Press [volume up]/[volume down] to turn the alarm on or off. The "ALARM" icon will appear on the display.
- Alarm Hour: The hours will flash. Press [volume up]/[volume down] to adjust the alarm hour.
- Alarm MIN: The minutes will flash. Press [volume up]/[volume down] to adjust the alarm minute.
Reset
Press the [enter] button (13) to reset to factory default settings. "OK" will display upon completion. The function times out after 5 seconds of inactivity.
Mute / Loudness
Press the [mute/loud] button (8) to silence audio output. Press again to restore volume. Press and hold to toggle the Loudness function on/off; "LOUD" will display when active.
Auxiliary Input Function
To connect a portable audio device, press [mode/menu] (7) until AUX1/AUX2 is selectable. Use a standard 3.5mm audio cable to connect to the AUX IN connector (6) on the front panel or the AUX-IN RCA jack on the rear of the unit.

Tuner Operation
Clock Display
Press the [T/F] button (9) to alternate between playback mode and clock time display.
Clock Setup
Press and hold the [T/F] button (9) to enter Clock Setup mode. Adjust hours using [volume up]/[volume down], then press [T/F] briefly to adjust minutes. The time saves automatically 5 seconds after the last adjustment.
Speaker Output
Use the speaker output buttons (5) ([speaker A] and [speaker B]) to turn speaker sets on or off.
Select a Band
Press the [BAND] button (3) to cycle through FM bands (FM1, FM2, FM3) and AM bands (AM1, AM2).
Manual Tuning
Use the [tune up] (1) or [tune down] (2) buttons to tune the frequency one step at a time. Press and hold to seek the next strong station.
Preset Stations
Six numbered preset buttons allow storing and recalling stations for each band.
- Store Preset Stations: Select a band and station. Hold a preset button for one second to store.
- Recall Preset Stations: Select a band. Press a preset button momentarily to tune to the stored station.
Automatically Store / Preset Scan (A/PS)
- Automatically Store: Press and hold the [A/PS] button (10) for over one second to automatically scan and store six strong stations for all bands. Press [A/PS] again to stop.
- Preset Scan: Press [A/PS] to scan all preset stations in the current band, playing each for five seconds before moving to the next. Press [A/PS] again to stop and play the current station.

Bluetooth Operation
The JWM1A features built-in Bluetooth for streaming audio from compatible devices.
About Bluetooth Technology
Bluetooth is a short-range wireless radio protocol operating in the 2.4 GHz range, transmitting audio and data up to 2.1 Mbit/s over a range of up to 10 meters.
Pairing a Bluetooth Device:
- Ensure the device to be paired is on and ready to receive a signal.
- Press and hold the [Bluetooth] button (12) to initiate pairing. The unit will attempt to pair with available devices.
- When pairing with a smartphone, the JWM1A becomes discoverable. Pair using the phone's menu, selecting "JWM1A".
- Enter the pairing password "0000" if prompted.
- A successful connection will display "PAIR OK".
Once connected, audio from the Bluetooth device can be played through the JWM1A.
Bluetooth Audio (A2DP):
Access Bluetooth mode and play songs by pressing the [Bluetooth] button (12). "BT AUDIO" will display on the LCD. Use the [next track] (1) or [previous track] (2) buttons to select tracks. Press the [play/pause] button (1/ ||) to pause or resume playback. Pressing the [Bluetooth] button (12) again returns to BT mode and resumes playback.
Note: If a Bluetooth device disconnects (e.g., due to power off or out of range), the unit will automatically search for it when power is restored.
Bluetooth Menu Options:
- Press the [Bluetooth] button (12) to enter menu adjustment mode.
- With "Device" displayed, use [volume up]/[volume down] (11) to select.
- Use [volume up]/[volume down] to view paired devices and press [enter] (13) to select.
- Once a device is selected, use [volume up]/[volume down] to choose options: connect/disconnect, lock/unlock, or delete.
- LOCK/UNLOCK: The JWM1A stores up to 5 devices. Lock a device to prevent it from being removed from the list when more than 5 devices are used. Press [enter] to lock/unlock.
- DISCONNECT: Temporarily remove the Bluetooth link by pressing [enter]. The link can be re-established via the phone's menu.
- DELETE: Remove a device from the list by pressing [enter].
- Press the [enter] button (13) to confirm.
APP Operation
The JENSEN Specialty Controller app provides wireless remote control for your JENSEN stereo system, transforming your mobile device into a functional stereo remote.

Connecting and using jControl app:
The jControl app is available on the App Store (Apple) and Google Play Store (Android). After downloading and installing, pair your device to the JWM1A via Bluetooth as described previously. Open the app and follow its instructions. The jControl app manual can be found at: http://asaelectronics.com/manuals-guides.
Note: For Android devices, close the jControl app before Bluetooth pairing to avoid connection errors.
