RME ADI-2 Pro Quick Start Guide
1. General - First Time Operation
A. Power Connection: Connect the unit to the included power supply and push the Standby button.
B. Headphone Connection: Use PH 3/4 for headphones, not PH 1/2.
C. Volume Adjustment: If necessary, push the Volume knob to change between 1/2 and 3/4. A marker in the status bar indicates the selected outputs.

2. Parametric EQ - Quick Control
Channel Selection: Turn the upper encoder 1 to select the desired channels.
Parameter Adjustment: Push the lower encoder 2 one time so that the parameter values below the frequency diagram turn white.
Encoder Functions:
- A (Volume/Gain): Controls the Gain. Push to switch to the next band.
- B (Frequency/Quality): Controls Frequency and Quality factor. Push to switch between peak, shelf, and hi/lo pass modes (band 1 and 5).

3. Auto Mode
The ADI-2 Pro ships with Basic Mode Auto activated, allowing automatic reconfiguration based on connected cables for intuitive operation.
- Preamp Mode: No digital input, no USB.
- AD/DA Converter Mode: Digital input signal present.
- USB Mode: USB connected (USB interface or USB DAC operation).
Manual Mode Selection: Push SETUP and turn encoder 2 to access Device Modes.

- USB Mode: Shows connection to a laptop and mobile device.
4. Menu Operations
Volume Control
A. Push Button VOL: Pressing the VOL key cycles through volume/balance settings, both volume settings (linked), and meter screens.

I/O Control
A. Push Button I/O: Accesses the I/O menu.
B. Control with Encoder 1 and 2: Used to navigate and adjust settings within the I/O menu.
I/O Menu Structure:
- Analog Input: Settings, Parametric EQ, Bass/Treble, Loudness.
- Main Output 1/2: Settings, Parametric EQ, Bass/Treble, Loudness.
- Phones Out 3/4: Settings, Parametric EQ, Bass/Treble, Loudness.
The I/O menu allows detailed settings for analog stereo I/Os. Encoder 2 is used to access Settings, Parametric EQ, Bass/Treble, and Loudness.

EQ Control
A. Push Button EQ: Accesses the EQ menu.
B. Control with Encoder 1: Used to change between Analog Input, Main Output 1/2, and Phones Out 3/4.
Control with Encoder 2: Scrolls through the 5 EQ bands.
EQ Menu Structure: Channel Selection, EQ Enable/Presets, Meter Screens.

Setup
A. Push Button SETUP: Accesses the Setup menu.
B. Control with Encoder 1 and 2: Used to navigate and adjust settings within the Setup menu.
Setup Menu Structure:
- Options: Hardware/Diagnosis, Device Mode, Clock.
- Setups: Load/Store all Settings.
Turn encoder 2 to access Hardware/Diagnosis, Device Mode, and Clock.

5. Connectors and Controls
The ADI-2 Pro features 3 hi-precision rotary encoders with push function, 4 buttons, a standby power button, a high-resolution IPS display, and two TRS headphone outputs.
Front Panel Controls: Power Button, Headphone outputs, Encoders.
Rear Panel Connectors:
- POWER: Power input.
- USB 2.0: For computer connection.
- DIGITAL I/O: Includes TOSLINK optical I/O.
- ANALOG OUTPUTS: Two TS unbalanced and two XLR balanced outputs.
- ANALOG INPUTS: Two combo XLR/TRS inputs.
The rear panel also includes a USB socket and a lockable power socket. A breakout cable connects to the DB-9 socket, providing AES I/O via XLR and SPDIF coaxial I/O via RCA.
