About Your AlfredCam
Key components of the AlfredCam include:
- Status LED: Indicates the camera's operational status (e.g., blinking green for setup, solid red for errors).
- Microphone: Captures audio for recordings.
- Micro SD Card Slot: Located on the camera body, for optional local storage (card not included).
- Reset Button: A small, recessed button, typically found near the SD card slot, used for troubleshooting and factory resets.
Setting Up Your Device Together
Follow these steps to get your AlfredCam connected:
- Download the App: Obtain the AlfredCamera app from your device's App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Launch and Sign In: Open the AlfredCamera app. Log in with your existing account credentials or create a new account if you are a new user.
- Power On the Camera: Connect the AlfredCam to a power source using the provided Micro USB cable and power adapter. The Status LED on the camera should begin blinking green, indicating it is ready for setup.
- Add Camera: Within the AlfredCamera app, tap the "Add a Camera" button [plus symbol]. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your AlfredCam to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz).
Mounting the Camera
To securely mount your camera, follow these instructions:
- Position Alignment Sticker: Place the alignment sticker on the desired mounting surface (e.g., wall, ceiling).
- Drill Pilot Holes: Using an 8mm drill bit, create two pilot holes approximately 20mm deep, aligning with the marks on the sticker.
- Install Anchors & Screws: Insert the provided wall anchors into the drilled holes, then screw in the mounting screws to secure the stand.
- Attach Mounting Stand: Fasten the mounting stand to the wall using the screws.
- Mount Camera: Attach the AlfredCam to the mounting stand by sliding it into its designated position.
Troubleshooting & Frequently Asked Questions
What do I do when my device is not working properly?
If your AlfredCam is not functioning as expected, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Restart and Reset: Begin by restarting the camera. If the problem persists, perform a factory reset. Locate the reset button (usually next to the SD card slot) and use a paperclip to press and hold it for approximately 5-10 seconds. The Status LED should turn solid red, indicating the reset is complete.
- Check Internet Connection: Verify that your Wi-Fi router is properly connected to the internet and functioning.
- Wi-Fi Network Compatibility: Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network that you intend to use for the AlfredCam. The camera is not compatible with 5GHz networks.
- Signal Strength: Position the AlfredCam within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router to ensure a stable and reliable connection.

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
