Step 1: Screen Preparation
To begin, soften the adhesive holding the screen in place using a heat gun.
Action: Apply heat to the screen edges with a heat gun set to its lowest setting. Use sweeping motions, maintaining a distance of approximately 8-10 inches from the device.
[Important Note]: Avoid holding the heat gun stationary over one area to prevent overheating or damage. Consistent, sweeping motions are key.
Step 2: Prying the Screen
After heating for 1-2 minutes, you can start to gently separate the screen.
Action: Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the screen loose. Start at the top right corner and work your way around the device.
⚠️ [Warning]: Be cautious not to bend the screen by inserting the tool too deeply into the device.
Step 3: Separating the Screen and Cable
Continue to detach the screen from the tablet's main body.
Action: Slide a plastic opening tool and a spudger along the underside of the screen. Apply sufficient force to peel the screen and its adhesive strip away from the device.
[Caution]: Pay close attention to the orange cable that connects the screen to the mid-bottom section of the device.
Step 4: Disconnecting the Screen Cable
The screen is connected via a delicate ribbon cable.
Action: Using tweezers, gently pull the orange cable from its connection point on the screen.
Step 5: Disconnecting the Battery Connector
Next, disconnect the battery itself.
Action: Locate the wired connector on the top-right of the battery. Lift this connector gently to disconnect it from its socket.
⚠️ [Warning]: Handle the battery with care to avoid bending or puncturing it.
Step 6: Removing the Battery
The battery is secured by adhesive strips.
Observation: Four black tabs are located on the bottom of the battery, attached to adhesive strips underneath.
