3. Hardware Introduction

3.1 Switch Front Panel

The front panel features Ethernet interfaces and LED indicators.

Front View Description

The front panel displays 8 x 10/100BASE-TX ports (Ports 1-8) and 2 x 10/100/1000BASE-T/SFP combo ports (Ports 9-10). System status LEDs (P1, P2, Alarm) are also present.

3.3 Switch Upper Panel

The upper panel features a 6-pin terminal block connector for dual power inputs and a fault alarm output.

Terminal Block Description

The 6-pin terminal block is used for connecting power and the alarm relay. The pin assignments are:

A diagram shows the terminal block with labels "Power 1", "Alarm", "Power 2".

3.4 Wiring the Power Inputs

To wire the power inputs:

  1. Insert positive and negative DC power wires (or AC wires) into the appropriate contacts: Pins 1 and 2 for POWER 1, or Pins 5 and 6 for POWER 2.
  2. Tighten the wire-clamp screws securely to prevent wires from loosening.

Note: Wire gauge for the terminal block should be between 12 and 24 AWG. Ensure power is OFF before performing any wiring to prevent electric shock.

3.5 Wiring the Fault Alarm Contact

The fault alarm contacts (Pins 3-4) are used to detect power failures. When a power failure occurs, the relay circuit opens.

Wiring Example: Insert wires into the fault alarm contacts (Pins 3-4). The fault alarm contacts are normally closed (CLOSE) during operation and open (OPEN) upon failure.

Note: The alarm relay circuit accepts up to 24V DC, 1A.

4. Installation

This section guides you through installing the Industrial Ethernet Switch using DIN-rail or wall-mount methods. Please read carefully before proceeding.

Note: Diagrams show installation steps, but the device pictured may not be the IFGS-1022TF.

4.1 DIN-rail Mounting Installation

Attach the DIN-rail mounting bracket to the switch and slide it onto a standard 35mm DIN-rail. Ensure it is securely fastened.

4.2 Wall-mount Plate Mounting

Attach the wall-mount plates to the sides of the switch. Then, use screws to mount the switch onto a wall or suitable surface.

4.3 Side Wall-mount Plate Mounting

This describes an alternative side-mount installation method using the provided brackets.

4.4 Grounding the Device

Important: Proper grounding is essential to protect the device from lightning strikes and electrical surges. Failure to ground the device may result in fatal damage, which is not covered under warranty.

Connect the grounding wire to the designated grounding point on the device and to a reliable earth ground connection.
