Installation
1. Inserting / Removing the Memory Card
Insert the Memory Card
Ensure the metal contacts on the memory card face away from the VIOFO logo side of the main unit. Ensure the camera is turned off and push the memory card into the card slot until you hear a click. ℹ️ Note: When using the memory card for the first time, it must be formatted as FAT32; other formats are not supported. The microSD card must be High Endurance type, have a UHS-U1/U3 or above rating, and a capacity up to 256GB. VIOFO recommends its own brand memory cards for durability and reliability. Formatting will permanently erase all data on the microSD card.
Remove the Memory Card
Ensure the camera is turned off, then push the edge of the memory card with your fingernail. The card will spring out enough to be removed.
⚠️ Warning: Please turn off the A139 before inserting or removing the microSD card. Inserting or removing the microSD card while recording may destroy the files.
Format the Memory Card
You can format the card in the camera via the VIOFO app, or on your computer using the FAT32 system.
2. Install Front Camera
Install the Mount
Slide the mount horizontally into the slot on the back of the camera.
Mounting Location and Power Connection
- Select a location on the windshield behind the rear-view mirror.
- Wipe the installation surface clean with a damp cloth to ensure it is grease-free for the sticky pad.
- Apply water to the windshield and attach the static stickers.
- Peel the protection film off the sticky pad and camera lens.
- Fix the front camera onto the static stickers. Static stickers are reusable and allow repositioning.
- Adjust the lens angle up or down as necessary. ⚠️ Never rotate the lens completely; doing so may void the warranty.
- Plug the USB power adapter into your vehicle's 12V / 24V power socket. Insert the 4-meter power USB cable's Type-C connector into the camera's mount port.
The final installation provides a clean look. The front camera can also be mounted to the left of the rearview mirror. The power can be connected via a cigarette lighter socket.
3. Install Rear Camera
- Select an installation location on the windscreen, avoiding defrost grid wires, where the camera can capture the entire rear view.
- Wipe the installation surface clean with a dry cloth.
- Peel the protection film off the sticky pad and camera lens.
- Fix the rear camera in the selected location.
- Connect the rear camera cable to the front camera (main unit) after powering off the product. Cable routing should follow the provided diagrams. Use cable clips for secure and neat routing.
4. Install Interior Camera (Optional)
- Select an installation location on the windscreen, avoiding defrost grid wires, where the camera can capture the entire interior view.
- Wipe the installation surface clean with a dry cloth.
- Peel the protection film off the sticky pad and camera lens.
- Fix the interior camera in the selected location.
- Connect the interior camera cable to the front camera (main unit) after powering off the product.
5. Remove Cameras

Installation Tips
- Do not install the camera where it obstructs the driver's visibility or safety.
- Mount the camera close to the rearview mirror for optimal field of view coverage.
- Position the lens within the windshield wiper's sweeping range for clear visibility in rain.
- Avoid installing the camera on or near airbag panels.
- Ensure the mounting location is not affected by window tint or other electronic equipment for best performance.
Dash Cam Recording Operation
Power On/Off
The camera automatically turns on and begins recording when the engine starts. It stops recording and turns off when the engine is switched off or the charging cable is unplugged.
Loop Recording
Loop recording starts automatically when the camera detects power with a microSD card inserted. Video files are recorded in 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10-minute segments. When the microSD card is full, the oldest files are automatically overwritten. Loop recording files are saved in the DCIM\MOVIE
folder.
Emergency Recording
- Automatic Emergency Recording: When the G-sensor detects a collision, current footage is automatically locked to prevent overwriting.
- Manual Emergency Recording: Press the [Video Protect button] during recording to lock the current footage.
ℹ️ Note: Collision sensing sensitivity can be adjusted via the VIOFO App under the "G-sensor" option. Locked files are saved in DCIM\Movie\RO
.
Disable / Enable Audio Recording
Press the [MIC button] once to turn audio recording on or off. The MIC LED will be off or solid Red accordingly.
Parking Mode
There are three parking mode options:
- Auto Event Detection: Records a video sequence (15 seconds before to 30 seconds after an event) when a moving object is detected. Recording stops if no new movements occur.
- Time Lapse Recording: Records video at low frame rates (1, 2, 3, 5, 10, or 15 fps) continuously without audio.
- Low Bitrate Recording: Records video in low bitrate for all cameras (front, interior, rear) continuously in small file sizes with audio.
ℹ️ Note: Audio cannot be recorded in time-lapse mode. For parking mode recording, VIOFO recommends the HK3-C ACC hardwire kit cable to provide continuous power and protect the car battery.
View on a TV
The camera features an AV out port for connecting to an external display like a monitor or TV. A 3.5mm male to 3 RCA AUX cable is required but not supplied.
